Ivy snorted. "Happy go lucky type or just has a lot to be happy about recently?"

"Bit of both, I suppose," Logan said as they sat down. "Chuck's an optimist."

Ivy chuckled. "Well, could be worse," she reasoned. "Could be stupidly optimistic and annoyingly happy go lucky."

"Chuck's smarter'n that," Logan said. "Thank god."

Ivy nodded emphatically. "I had a friend like that a while back, haven't talked to her in a couple years. She got on my nerves too often."

"I bet," Logan said. "Chuck's okay, though. He knows when enough's enough."

"Good. That's a good thing to know." Ivy smiled a bit.

Logan grinned a bit.

"So, how've you been since the thing last week?"

"Pretty good. My roommate went on a date, so she's been gushing over the guy." Ivy grinned. "It's good, she hasn't been excited about a guy in a while. Otherwise life has been pretty calm, normal. How about you? Anything exciting going on?"

"Not lately," Logan said. "Went camping for a weekend. Let Chuck talk me into that thing like he did with Stark and Rodgers."

"Roughing it camping or getting out to a small town and staying in a hotel?" Because there was definitely a difference, and Ivy found herself curious.

Logan snorted, although he did grin a bit.

"Real camping," he said. "None of that hotel nonsense."

"Oh good," Ivy said with a grin. "I haven't been properly camping in a few years, my roommate doesn't like it. So we usually get a hotel. But I used to go a lot when I was younger."

Logan raised an eyebrow. He hadn't been expecting that.

"You like camping?" he asked.

"Yeah. It's peaceful. You don't have to be socially acceptable or anything." Ivy grinned. "I may look like a city girl but I enjoy getting out and dirty."

"Girl after my own heart," Logan said, grinning some. Maybe if the date went well, he'd see about inviting her out camping a few times. That sounded good.

Ivy snorted. "So what else do you do besides go camping and let your friend bully you into things?"

"Road trips, a lotta times," Logan replied. "'M not a real social person." He paused, watching her expression carefully. "Help out at the Xavier School from time t' time."

Ivy brightened a bit at that. "Really? That's neat. I bet that doesn't get boring." She pointedly didn't pry and ask personal questions like if he was a mutant and what kind of mutation he had. She figured he'd tell her if he wanted.

"If there's one thing it ain't, it's boring," Logan agreed. "But I figure it's the least I can do, since Chuck puts up with me."

Ivy smiled. "I like that," she said quietly. "I don't know many mutants personally, only one or two, but they're good people."

"Most are," Logan agreed. "Most keep to themselves, when they can."

"Right. Mutants in general aren't bad people, no more than humans are bad people." Ivy briefly made a face.

"Then what's with the face?" Logan asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Other people believing things like that," Ivy said. "I don't understand zealots. So mutants were both with a little something extra; so what? It's not like you're flying monkeys or anything."
