" I didn't I sent away to protect her from her father." Her mother snapped

"-and yet, you sent no warning, no indication, no letter, stating who she was, or that she had a mother? Your no better then he is. However, It is not my choice to make. I'm not Corinated yet, so I cannot make this decision. "he said, looking at Athena. "It is your choice. Does she live, or does she die?"

Barthy helped Athena stand holding on to her arm as she swayed " I want to talk to her." her voice was weak and she looked tired.

Mordecai waved his hand. They executed the Father, though they bound the Mother, and sent her off to the dungeon. Mordecai looked at Barthy, then at Finx. "Take her to the Tower. She'll be able to sleep there......I have some matters I need to attend to. "he said.

Barthy lifted Athena and carried her away. " Do you really think killing her mother would be a good idea?" Lori asked frowning at him.

"A Traitor deserves a Traitors death. "He said, sitting on the throne, with his bow at his side.

" But she wanted to protect Athena and she did till you made her come here to help you." Lori frown deepened.

"I didn't make her. I asked her for help. She could've refused, I hold no control over her. "he said, staring at his hands.

" What would you do if you knew you wife would use your child as a shield or worse and you could do nothing about it because she was controlling you?" Lori asked hands on her hips.

Mordecai sighed. "Your right. I'm just.....ugh, this day has been hell in a picnic basket. "he said.

" How do you think Athena feels?" Lori glanced off frowned " Poor girl let you kill her father then throw her mother in the dungeon and her powers went out of control."

"her father deserved to die, he used her as a shield. Her powers.....I wish there was something I could do. "he said.

" Well there's not she has to learn how to control that large amount of power but its hard without the gem." Lori sighed and sat on the other throne " As long as I've know her she's had that gem around her neck."

"Why not give her Magesbane?" he asked. "It's known to suppress Magic abilities. "he said.

Lori shrugged " She used the gem because it was all she had from her parents along with the locket."

"So what can we do?" he asked.

" Wait till she feels better and let her have her time with her mother." Lori sighed " Other then that theres not much you can do."

Mordecai pressed his hands together, thinking. "They're going to call for her execution, along with her families, by royal law......I can keep her safe, however, I think she'll kill me for doing it "he said.

" You have to save her mom." Lori shivered " She'll do horrible thing to you if you don't."

"The only way I can save her, and her mom, is if she marries into the royal family. So long story short : Athena would have to marry me. "he said.
