Once he'd patched her up, Clint let Chloe go. He knew it was best to let her find her own place to settle down and unwind.

Chloe stuck close to him for the moment instead of finding somewhere to settle down. She didn't even try to settle down until Tony and Bruce, at least, were back.

"What the hell happened?" Tony demanded as he let them in, frowning.

"Bunch of weres," Clint said, keeping an eye on Chloe as Bruce went over to take a look at her. "Wolves. They tried to get the jump on us, I think. Chloe took care of it, for the most part."

"Chloe did?" Tony blinked, sounding very disbelieving. Then he got a better look at her as Bruce started checking her over. "Huh. I guess she did."

Chloe growled a bit but let Bruce examine her. At least she'd stopped bleeding.

"It was really impressive," Clint said. "She took out three wolves pretty much on her own."

"Hold still," Bruce said softly. "I just want to make sure you're not seriously hurt anywhere."

"A mountain lion should not be able to take three wolves on her own," Tony said, looking interested now.

Chloe snorted but held still, letting him take a look. She was already starting to heal, albeit slowly. It would take her a few days to recover.

"Well, she did," Clint said. "Not all at once, but she did."

Bruce gently poked and prodded until he was satisfied that nothing was wrong that wouldn't heal on its own soon enough.

"You should take it easy for a few days," he said. "Just rest and relax."

Tony shook his head. "Incredible," he murmured. "And she's still walking."

Chloe nodded and padded over to the kitchen, looking back at Bruce hopefully.

"She's tough," Clint said, nodding.

Bruce nodded to Chloe and followed her. He didn't mind cooking something.

"And seriously motivated, apparently," Tony muttered.

Chloe waited for him to open the fridge door before she moved in front of him and grabbed a package of meat, heading for the back door. She figured no one would want to deal with the mess if she ate inside.

Clint shrugged.

"Protecting the home?" he suggested. "As good a motivation as any, for a were."

Bruce let her go. He figured she deserved it after taking down three wolves. He did sit outside on the back porch to keep an eye on her, though, just in case.

"True." Tony was quiet for a moment. "Did she kill them?" Because that would be bad.

Chloe didn't mind Bruce keeping an eye on her, and she sat nearby to eat her meal.

"I don't think so," Clint said. "Knocked 'em out, though. And now that everyone's home, they'll probably think twice about trying again when they wake up."

"They better. I might have them rounded up. They were trespassing, after all." Tony's eyes narrowed.

Clint just nodded. He didn't disagree, not at all; the wolves were definitely trespassing, and had clearly intended to attack while most of the family was gone. He had no sympathy for them at this point.

Tony made arrangements for the wolves to be taken into custody before he upped the house's defenses. Just in case.

"Oi, Clint," he called from up in the rafters, fixing a few things while he was up there.

"'Sup?" Clint replied, climbing up to join him. "What do you need?"

"Two things. Stop stashing your stuff up here, you're messing up my things." Tony dumped a bow into Clint's hands. "And I want you to keep an eye on Chloe."

"I'm sorry, Tin Man, but the rafters are my space," Clint retorted, stashing his bow in another corner. "And why do you want an eye kept on Chloe?"

"She's still the most timid," Tony said. "I'd be surprised if there weren't... side effects."

Clint nodded. Tony had a point.

"I'll look after her," he said.

"Good." Tony nodded. "We'll be in town a few more days, at least, depending on how long the trial lasts."

"How's it going so far?" Clint asked. "Any good?"

"I think it's all infuriating, but Kyle seems to think things are going well." Tony shrugged.

"Yeah, well, we figured you'd be all prickly about it the whole time," Clint said, shrugging. "That was a given. But if the lawyer thinks it's going okay, then things might work out."
