Madeline nodded. "Next time," she allowed, taking a sip of her own cappuccino.

"Deal," Lacey said. She started working on her breakfast, still a bit amazed that they had learned what her favorites were so quickly.

Madeline let her finish her breakfast in peace before taking the plates out of the way. Then it was time to head to the storerooms, and she flicked on lights as she went.

Lacey followed, curious about the storerooms and what was in them. There had to be a lot, she reasoned, or there wouldn't be storerooms in the first place.

Madeline opened the first storeroom and stepped back to let her in. There were expensive gowns, lengths of cloth, shoes, gloves, jewelry--everything a lady could need for several months out.

Lacey gasped softly as she stepped into the first room. It was gorgeous: there were more gowns than she'd ever dreamed of, and other sparklies besides. It was all so beautiful, and she had to resist reaching out to touch the nearest item.

Madeline noticed. "You can touch as much as you want. All this is yours now, after all."

"I'm afraid I'll break something," Lacey admitted. "It's all so expensive."

"None of these pieces are older than fifty years," Madeline said. "I routinely remove clothing that has become too frail with age. The jewelry is all sturdier than it looks."

"It all still looks so fragile," Lacey said as she cautiously reached out to touch a gown.

"Touch as much as you like," Madeline said with a shrug, making a casual perusal of the room.

Lacey nodded as she explored the room a bit. There was more in there than she'd ever seen in her life, and she had a hard time wrapping her mind around the fact that it all belonged to her.

Madeline smirked faintly at that look. Tomorrow maybe she'd show Lacey the second room. It was a bit smaller and had less in it, but there was still another room. Oh yes, she could have a lot of fun with Lacey.

Lacey spent a while exploring the store room, just looking at everything she could get her hands on. The gowns in particular attracted her attention, and she had already seen a few she liked quite a bit.

Madeline kept track of what she liked and what she looked at. They would, of course, have to get more gowns, likely before the end of the season, but she figured that could wait another week or two. It was the end of season that she really wanted Lacey to show off.

After a while, Lacey began to slow down a bit and not examine things for as long. She was starting to get a bit bored, and wanted to go do something else. She loved the gowns and sparkly things, but now she needed a break from them.

Madeline was just waiting on her pleasure. She already knew every piece in the rooms, after all.

Finally Lacey went back over to her.

"I think I'm done for now," she said. "Now what?"

"Pick a pair of heels to wear for the next few hours," Madeline told her. "We will build up your tolerance over time."

"I have a couple pairs upstairs, I think," Lacey said. "No sense in risking scuffs on these pretty ones."

Madeline nodded. "Go walk for a few hours, then. There is a greenhouse, if you'd like, otherwise you can always walk around the house."

"I might explore the greenhouse later," Lacey mused. A greenhouse and a pair of heels didn't sound like a good combination, to her. But she did head up to her room to find a pair of heels to put on.

Madeline nodded and left her to her own devices for now, instead going to tend a few of her own jobs.

Lacey ended up wandering around for an hour in her heels before she had to find a place to sit for a few minutes. It wasn't as easy as she thought it would be. She loved the shoes, but they weren't comfortable.

Madeline kept her training with heels and dresses and skirts so that Lacey would be comfortable in virtually any situation.
