Isiah's heart ached for Serif. He must have felt so betrayed by the good people of the village. Isiah had no idea how his father had found out about the naga, or what he was going to do with him. He really did hope Serif wouldn't be harmed. He frowned slightly at the mention of Serif's home. It was nice of the snakeman to offer this to him but...

"I don't think I'd be able to go... My father would notice I left the village, besides... I am not the best walker... A hike up the mountainside would be hard for me..." Maybe he could try if his father left the church for the day, then he wouldn't be able to see Isiah sneaking away out of town. "I'm... Scared. To leave, that is. I have never... I would think bandits might try to kill me or monsters..." He rubbed his eyes and then sighed heavily, glancing out the window just in time to see his father leave the church and walk towards the barn. "Oh no," he said, dashing for the window and just getting out as the priest entered the barn.

The man looked about, wondering how the sunroof had been opened. "Dodgy thing, needs to be fixed..." Isiah heard him mutter as he went to the animal feed supplies, ignoring Serif who was still chained at the back.

Serif was about to reply, give an idea as to how he might get to the cavern, when he had to snap his mouth shut so whoever was coming up wouldn't hear. And in a moment, Isiah was gone through the way he'd come. Serif laid his head down again and turned his gaze to the man that entered. He shifted, constantly moving, basking in the sun that came in from the open slats in the ceiling. He lifted his head a bit, watching the man, staring, glaring at him. His claws dug down into the soft dirt and his tongue threaded from between his teeth. A shuddering breath of air came down from the open slats and shifted Serif's hair into his face, but he was watching the man. This man that smelled like Isiah, but had the ugly, heavy, coppery tinge of hatred and corruption on his skin and clothes. He wore it like a cloak.

"Don't you adore simply lying to people?" Serif spoke at last. He'd wanted to for a while. "Making them follow you thoughtlessly, because you are a source of power to them? Don't you simply love exerting your twisted sense of power over your sweet, innocent son? How he has not taken after his father is beyond me." His voice dripped venom, much as his growing fangs did. When the poison hit the dirt floor, it sizzled. "Come to me. If you are so brave then face me, where I can reach you." His hands grasped the earth, digging deeper into hard, cool ground. He wanted to rip this man apart slowly, so he could feel what his son felt, no doubt.

Isiah watched from the window, cringing slightly as Serif mentioned him. His father paused slightly and tilted his head, looking towards the naga that coiled across the straw strewn ground. "How do you know about my son, demon? Are you the creature that tempts him to live in sin? The monster that corrupted my innocent boy to go after... Men?" His father sounded mad, and delusional. Isiah had never noticed it before, or maybe he had just been used to it. His father didn't lie on purpose. He believed the things he said.

His father left the barn in a temper and Isiah's heart lept when he realised he was heading towards the chapel, probably to talk to him. He quickly got to his feet and ran as fast as he can, stopping as he stepped on the bridge and leaning on the railings as his father came into view.

"Father, are you alright?" Isiah asked, pretending as though he had been there the whole time. The priest eyed him suspiciously, but said nothing.

"Go back to praying, son. God will cleanse your filthy soul soon enough," he replied, turning around and going back to the house. Isiah frowned, feeling saddened at what the man had said to him.
