"It matters when Rodgers is technically level eight, and the others listen to him," Avery pointed out.

"Which means that technically he's a high enough level to know," Coulson pointed out. "Natasha and Clint deal in secrets and information, so it won't be surprising when they find out. And what one person knows, the rest of the team knows."

"Which brings us back around to the fact that an hour ago you were telling me to keep quiet," Avery replied. She raised an eyebrow at him in question.

"As I said, I changed my mind. It does happen." Coulson smirked.

"So what's the plan, then?" Avery asked. She smirked. "I know there's a plan. You're not just going to walk into the common room and say 'hi', they'd literally try to kill you."

"I'm still working on that," Coulson admitted.

"We might be able to help," Avery offered. "Like you said, Rodgers' clearance is high enough for him to know, and he'll definitely tell the others."

"That won't help when Barton and Romanov decide they want my hide," Coulson said blandly.

"It'll be better than you just walking through the front door without warning," Avery pointed out.

"True," Coulson agreed. "If I haven't come up with another idea by morning, we'll try that."

Avery nodded.

"Alright," she said. "Then I'm going to go crash. I need some sleep if I'm going to try to fix your minions."

Coulson waved her off. "Go ahead," he said. "I'll see you in the morning."

Avery waved back and got up, heading into the guest room that had been provided for her.

She got up bright and early the next morning, though, and was back to work as soon as she had coffee in hand.

Coulson was already up and also had his coffee. But he let her get to work without interruption, instead just glancing at her from time to time.

After a few more hours, Avery finally sighed and set her paper down. It had a rather complex sigil on it, but it was complete.

"Alright, I think I've got it," she said. "It should work."

Coulson nodded and stood. "They're back in the other room," he said. He led the way back to the room. "Need any help?"

"Just bring them to me one at a time," Avery said. "I'd rather not have them all in here freaking out in case things end up being a bit flashy."

Coulson nodded and grabbed Ward first. He didn't mind making Ward a test subject.

Avery waited until he brought Ward over.

"Hey," she said to the boy. She put the sheet of paper with the sigil on it on the table between them. "Touch this for me?"

Ward pouted a bit but did as she asked. He blinked and there was a brief glow as the spell unraveled. Then he blinked again and stood up straight.

"Good," Coulson said with a nod.

"Good, it worked," Avery said with a grin. "Back with us, Ward?"

"Yes," Ward said, frowning a bit. "What the hell happened?" He glanced around.

"You, agent, got magicked," Avery said, checking the sigil to make sure it hadn't smudged or anything. "I got called in to fix it. I still have FitzSimmons to set right again."

Ward made a face but nodded and left to go get the two. He came back with a toddler under each arm, looking disgruntled. He put Fitz down first.

Fortunately, Avery knew how to get the attention of FitzSimmons.

"Leo, sweetie, put your hand on this paper, okay?" she said, pointing to the sigil. "Something neat'll happen."
