Loki noticed but he didn't care. Instead he just poked around at things until he got bored and drew back into himself.

Avery stayed at the table until she heard someone wander into the kitchen. Glancing over, she saw Thor rummaging through the cupboards.

"Pop tarts are over the toaster," she said. She grinned a bit. "It's honestly an impressive amount of Pop tarts."

Thor grinned. "These Pop tarts are quite delicious," he said, going over and pulling out a box of them. The toaster beeped at him almost angrily, and Thor blinked.

Avery blinked as well.

"What did you do to it?" she asked, eyeing the appliance warily. "I've never heard it make that sound before."

Thor shrugged. "I just wanted it to warm up Pop tarts," he said, not even bothering to try anymore. "It was just the once."

Avery just looked at him for a moment.

"How many pop tarts?" she asked warily. She shook her head. "You know what, never mind, we can ask Tony to make you a toaster oven, it might work out better for you."

Thor just nodded, having crammed half a Pop tart in his mouth moments before.

Avery lapsed into momentary silence.

"Loki was exploring earlier," she said. "Were you aware of that?"

Thor looked at her. "He was in his room," he said. "He has not left. I know that for certain."

"He wasn't physically wandering around," Avery confirmed, nodding. "But he was definitely putting a few feelers out."

It took Thor a moment to understand, because he didn't think magic most of the time, and then he nodded.

"Yes, that is acceptable, so long as he was not causing any... mischief."

"There wasn't any mischief that I could sense," Avery said. "I was keeping an eye on things."

"My thanks." Thor smiled a bit. "As I am not versed in magic, I cannot tell when he does such things, so I am grateful someone can keep an eye on him."

"No problem," Avery said. "Stark doesn't like magic in the tower, much, so there's not much I'll be able to do, but I should be able to keep an eye on Loki, for the most part."

Thor nodded. "He should not be able to do much at the moment," he said. "Odin felt it better to seal off his magic from him."

"I can't say that I disagree with that decision," Avery admitted. She looked at him. "The fact that he's bound and still has that much available to him is a bit scary. I wouldn't want to face him if he was at full power."

Thor nodded. "He has been fine in past. His magic was used for pranks and mischief, never for real harm. Not before."

"We have to take things into account as they are, rather than as they were," Avery said carefully, watching him. "It still stands that not one person on this planet could match him at full strength, so for the moment, it's good that he's bound."

"Aye," Thor agreed quietly. "I believe I will check on him." He nodded to her and took more pop tarts away with him to go check on his brother.

Avery nodded and let him go, tentatively settling back in to her busy work. She still had several more hours before she could justify ending the day and heading to the SHIELD gym.

Tony ended up zombie-ing his way upstairs to get coffee, because Dummy blocked him off from the one in his lab. He glanced at her as he passed.

Avery glanced back at him when she heard him shuffle in.

"Hit a stopping point?" she asked when he'd gotten some coffee.

"Yeah," Tony said. "It's not cooperating and Dummy won't let me at the coffee machine downstairs, so I was forced to come up here."

"Well," Avery said, "if you want a bit of a distraction, that phone you gave me last week to test started to glitch a bit this morning."

Tony made a motion for her to hand it over, although he was still firmly attached to his coffee. If it proved to be sufficient distraction then he'd pay more attention.
