Welcome to the blanket fort! Please take off your shoes so the pillows don't get dirty.

This is just my little hangout for friends and future friends. In here we'll talk about our lives, issues, ideas, likes, dislikes, and whatever else strikes our fancy. Share any neat stuff you find, too! The most important thing is to relax and chill. Grab a pillow and take a seat, you're among friends!

Let's keep this blanket fort peaceful!
  • No drama. I don't care, plain and simple. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
  • If this is your first time, feel free to say hi! But hangouts that devolve into nothing but "hi," "is anyone around?" get on my nerves big time. Just talk. This is a message board; it doesn't matter if anyone's around now, someone will reply soon enough. If conversation has dwindled out, start a new one. Just say something that happened to you today. Anything is better than "anyone here?"
  • In depth discussions are good. Arguments are not.
  • If I tell you to knock it off, then knock it off.
  • Life sucks sometimes and it's easy to get sad, but let's keep this place as positive as possible. If you've suffered a tragedy, by all means come here for support! If you need to vent about something, do it! But don't be one of those people who poops on every single conversation with negativity. "My dog did this cute thing today!" "I had a dog once... HE DIED." "My girlfriend and I just went on this amazing date!" "I'M SO SINGLE." Don't be that person.
  • No invitation is needed. No need to ask if you can come in - by doing so, you've already come in.

At least one of them worked. xD

Though because they're both on the same page, don't know which.

This means, will need further testing later, oh dear.

I got your ping! I'll be on and off of here today. My daughter had minor surgery and we're all a bit fried. Will you be back on after class?

Actually Jelly, I think that both of them work if I remember correctly.

Also, SLEEPOVER AT CHERRY'S! That sounds like oodles of fun!

Eek, hope she's recovering nicely, Elmira. The closest I've come to surgery is a lumbar puncture, and that didn't have any large level of pain once the anasthetic wore off, but it sure let me know it was there for a few days afterwards, hope your daughter's got someone to do stuff for her that she needs to avoid for the next few days.

Cherry had better be on after class.

Hope your daughter comes out well, Elmira.
If you don't mind me asking, what kind of surgery?

I've had to have my gallbladder removed after having my son, because gallstones.
Worse than labour.

At first, I thought it was horrible heartburn, until I went to the hospital because some lady thought I was in early labour.
Gallstones plus fatty foods equals pain.
I had just eaten at a buffet.

I had mine removed after my daughter was born! I agree it was worse than labor and I'm so glad that is over. Seems like it's not unusual for gallbladder issues to be triggered by childbirth because there was a woman who was in the hospital at the same time (she had a gorgeous little boy - we shared a room) came back the same week I did for gallbladder surgery.

My daughter had a type of birthmark on her face that is prone to becoming cancerous, so it was removed. She was incredibly brave about the surgery! In spite of having some anxiety issues and the first time having an IV, she stayed calm. I am so proud of her The biggest downer was driving to/from Atlanta - completely harrowing experience and I'm pretty sure I won a few more grey hairs to add to my collection.

I freaked out about IV's and stuff, because I have a fear of needles.

That's so great that she was so brave~!

Pregnancy ain't a joke, is it? But I'll spare y'all the details. Some of it was quite fun while considerably more was absolutely NOT. Mercifully, I am old and more evil so no more children.

Jelly ~ my nephew had a lumbar puncture and a host of other similarly torturous procedures. Yes, my daughter is off chore duty for the next several days. I had to convince her to not perform the Dance of Joy when she heard the news.

I still want to have another child, because I want a daughter.
If it comes down to it, I would be willing to adopt.

Well, I had our son when I was 43! Very unplanned. Proof it is never too late.

Blanket forts. Does this mean we can wear jammies?

My mom had my youngest brother at thirty.
Yeah.
There is a ten year gap between us, and he was the PLANNED one.

It is not too late to have children. Until you reach menopause it is not too late. It is, granted, more difficult, but not impossible.
