I like my Grinch jammies, and I have a pair of jammy bottoms with Hello Kitty all over them...

I don't have a lot of jammies, really, but sometimes I just really feel like wearing them, so I keep a few pair around.

I sleep in my jammies, so I have a lot. Trying to phase out the old ones I don't like for new, cute, comfy ones, but it's not too high of a priority.

Heh, my Grinch jammies are starting to wear through in spots, maybe I should treat myself to some new ones sometime...

It is a rather nice feeling, wearing a new, cosy pair of jammies.

I've been going through all of my old stuff now that in moving, clothing included. It was pretty satisfying to get rid of 5 garbage bags full of clothes that didn't fit right/were too old. (They weren't super huge bags though, maybe 15ml?) I didn't realize I'd gathered that much stuff in the four years I've been here.

I've also sorted out all of my old paperwork into binders and made digital copies of the most important ones just in case. I'm feeling productive. But I still have a long way to go... I've got three weeks before I have to be completely moved out and have it looking spotless so the pressure is on.

Oooo. I had two trash bags for donation when I left NJ. Granted a good bit of that was long pants and jackets. But still felt good!
And as for work I just got all of my paperwork into binders! I've never been this organized before.

You're moving Ferra?

Yay for organization! It feels great knowing exactly where everything is.

Yeah, I'm moving to a different apartment but we haven't found one yet. My current place is too small for two people and my fiance currently lives with his parents, so we're going to need to find a place for just the two of us. In the meantime, I'm moving my furniture over to his parents' house and I'll probably stay with them for a few weeks until we find our ideal spot.

Very exciting Ferra! It'll be something different to live together, but is fun and you get to learn those of quirks people have. For instance my guy likes to pick at his arms while watching tv. And you get to set things up aanddecorate the way you want!
We were most excited about getting the groceries we wanted. We went to Sam's club and bought a huge thing of breakfast hot pockets. XD

Thanks! I'm more stressed than excited right now because there's so much stuff I have to do in so little time... but I know it'll work out okay. Once this year is over I think I'll feel better since I'll have no plans.

Don't push yourself too hard! Though my general moving advice is "never pack something you don't want," it'd be better to have to pack up a few things that you'll deal with at the new place than run out of time to pack entirely.

It's looking like I'll be moving out sometime around the end of the year, after I graduate and transfer to a Uni in the city. So I've got until then to take care of the massive amount of crap up in my attic. My goal is to get it down to only the things I'll actually want in my new place and a few sentimental things I'll keep here at my parents' place for storage purposes. It's hard to find the motivation to work on that when the attic is filled with brown recluses, however. If it was a bug-free zone, I'd have that shit taken care of... years ago.

Moving into a new place is always a hassle, but there's nothing like it when it's over and you have that first night's sleep in freedom. It's the best feeling in the world.

Yeah, very true! I've been following that policy which has led to me throwing out a ton of old documents, pamphlets, knick-knacks, and clothes that I had no use for and didn't really want to keep around. I have two folders exclusively dedicated to farewell notes, photos, and post cards with sentimental value, but I think that's a reasonable amount to keep.

@Cherry: So does that mean you have picked out your next Uni then?

Yep, it's picked! I was considering a couple others, but after talking to an academic counselor with my current college, I decided they weren't the right picks for me. Partially for expenses. But UMSL seems like the best choice. It's highly respected, but it's a state school so it's still... well, not cheap, it's college, but less violently expensive. I shouldn't have any issues getting in as my GPA more than qualifies me, and it doesn't have some crazy low acceptance rate or anything like that. And I'll only be moving about an hour away, so I won't be far from friends and family at all (in fact, I'll be closer to my grandparents!). Even better, a friend of mine just got an apartment down in that area, so maybe I can roomie with her when it's move out time and not have to hassle with finding a stranger to live with.

Now if only I could decide what I'll be majoring in. :I

Blanket forts are great. I once came upstairs to my sister having made the biggest blanket for I have ever seen. Aha.

And I thought I could come in here and chat with people, as its open for whoever. So, names Victor and I will be joining you from now on.

Cherry. Pick something you enjoy. Sounds dumb but if you like it classes go by quicker and you learn more. . and take some fun junk classes too!

Vera. I have work... And that's most of my "life" right note XD

Yeah, I don't know what I enjoy. The things I like I kind of have a love/hate relationship with. I need to go speak to an academic counselor again, I think. :I

Nice! Definitely avoid debt as much as possible. It's no fun. I have saved enough now to pay off my remaining student loans (yay!) but I if I do, I'll completely deplete my savings (boo!) so I've decided to continue to pay them off slowly. And that's after getting two years of college for free at community college and having my parents cover a good chunk of my loan. I can't imagine what it would be like to graduate with over 50k of loans, let alone 100k or 200k like some people. Honestly, I don't think a few years of education is worth that much.

Goo luck with picking your major! What are the top contenders?

Aww, we all have "lives" even if it may seem boring to us, I guarantee someone else would wish they were in our shoes. Grass is always greener, and all that.

What's the biggest thing happening in your life lately? Do you have anything you're currently passionate about?

Vera. I have work... And that's most of my "life" right note XD
I agree. My degree is pretty "worthless" on its own, but I made it work for me by completing two minors, finding a job with a direct connection, and building up related experience. Now my experience is more valuable than my degree, but I needed the degree to get my foot in the door. A BA in itself opens up a lot of career opportunities even if they aren't related to your field of study.

And agree, my "life" right now is: work, sleep, pack, and plan. The only thing in-between lately has been boardgames since one of my friends who is leaving Japan this year has invited us to play games before he goes. We used to play a few times a month at his place, so I'll be sad when he's gone. I guess I need to get used to it, since sooner or later pretty much all of my non-Japanese friends will leave Japan.

Lately my main passions have been food and getting enough sleep...

I think being here is probably the best thing I've got going on, right now. So I guess I'm not doing too badly, all things considered...

And yay, Victor (ButterflyofGrey) is here!

Always nice to see people branch out and find their way here!

Me too! And I'm often failing at the "getting enough sleep" part. What kind of food do you like? I'm trying to improve my knowledge of Japanese cuisine since I'm going to start cooking more once my fiance and I live together.

As for restaurant meals, I love eating ramen! (The real kind, not the instant kind.) I used to be totally fine with instant ramen, but now I find it hard to stomach since I've had so much better.

Mene is my oasis too when I'm feeling stressed/bothered. It's been nice to have a community to fall back on when RL is being a pain.

Oh, I like all kinds of food, unfortunately I'm the best cook in my house, and have to make it all myself...

I got to go out for Cuban sandwiches yesterday though, and that was cool. I just didn't like where we had to go to get them.

Mmmm. I've got some ribs marinating in the fridge for tomorrow. And my guy is planning on taking us to one of the many burrito houses for lunch, we might be going to the botanical ggardens tomorrow. If we do I'll bring my camera. And hopefully get T9 p lay with the parrots they have.
