While I art often, but I don't like using fancy art supplies I buy because they don't last forever, and I'd want to use them on something I wouldn't think looked terrible later. Which will probably never happen.

To you maybe but other people, they can't see it. I guess what makes you happy is most important though. You don't often show people what you've done, do you?

That's pretty fair. It's usually those who are really good at it that do that. Great artists have the most doubts.
