Shin liked digging. He'd come back inside with a mound of soil on the end of his nose. I'd say something like, "Have you been rooting in the flower beds again?" And he'd give me one of those, "Who, me?!" looks.

Exactly! Our soil is red clay, so she comes in coated in it at times. Our vacuum is never happy about it. OH! Was Shin a mighty hunter?? Bonnie will sit in the doghouse in her kennel and lure opossums into her kennel. She doesn't even have to leave the darned thing to catch prey! I think over the course of 2 months we found 3 in the kennel. The fences are over 6' high, so they climbed in there to say hello. I think they mistook her for a large opossum. Totally gross, sorry if it inspired yucky visuals.

Elmira, he was never really in a position to find out, so I don't know :O We had to muzzle him for walks because he'd attack any other dogs. -.- My ex's dad never trained him : / Only got him for the status of having a husky, I'm totally convinced of this. He was fine with the Jack Russell as he grew up with him, but he'd go for any other dog, so we only let him loose to run if there were no other animals within view.

We got the muzzle for him after an incident with a chocolate labrador one day. The lab went for Shin, and Shin got him round the throat and threw him. My ex was afraid the lab's owner would pitch a fit, but the guy turned to his dog and said, "maybe that will teach you!" So he never got to root around in places where wildlife would be lurking.

I have a memory now of one time when we walked him in a small patch of woodland near our house. There was an open area in the middle where the dirt paths crossed over, and when it had been raining this area developed a big, deep and very muddy puddle. Being a husky Shinny loved water, so he jumped into the middle of this puddle, dropped down onto his knees, and stuck his face in it. Little did he realise it would engulf his entire head. He looked like Al Jolson when he surfaced, I just about died laughing. Had to turn the hose pipe on him when we got back home, he loved that though. xD

Most of the dogs Bonnie sees are those running loose in our neighborhood and approach her. I think one of the dogs would get along fine with her, but the rest are not even okay with some of the dogs in their neighborhood.

I had no idea huskies are status dogs. Most of the dogs we see here are hounds, pit bulls, or small yappy dogs. Some of those tiny dogs (chihuahuas mostly) run amok and chase cars.

Bonnie tried to escape today while on leash because there was a dog loose in our yard earlier. I think she just wanted to play, but whenever she is able to escape, she runs like wild. I asked a friend who is a professional dog trainer what we could do to leash train Bonnie more effectively, and she just laughed. And refused to let me hire her to help.

xD That says it all, doesn't it?!

You ever hooked her up to a sled?

We've thought about it! Just doesn't snow enough here. Plenty of ice - which she did not like at all - very little snow. Did you ever do that with Shin?

Never had the opportunity, I'd have been terriffied considering how fast he could run! Would have been great though, with a crash helmet. ><
