How are you feeling today? Hope you've recovered from your class!

Thanks hon! I'm only a little sore today. But I take my advanced class today so I'm pretty sure that won't last long. I'm so tired today that I took and accidental five hour nap. It was meant to only be an hour and a half!
But that's what I get for staying up all night reading.

I love the idea behind this thread!

I've had books like that!

Right now I'm kind of majorly stressing - in order to make it to graduate Spring of 2015, I need to take 15 units, and the last time I took 15 units I was so stressed, and that was when I Was still taking lower division classes - 15 units of upper division classes. :/ But that only means only two more semesters of torture.

That's a tough call because it will get you through faster and cost less in the long run. Can you look at the syllabi of previous classes if they're posted so you have an idea of what to expect with those remaining classes?

From what my roommate has told me, all of the classes left that I have to take are all SUPER hard, and will not be easy. :/ *bangs her head into a wall* Is it wrong that I am just so close to just giving up because I don't think I can do this. D: Plus I can't put it off by a semester as the paperwork for graduation in Spring of 2015 has already been started.

It was 12 units (Fall '14) and 12 (spring '15), with one semester with 3 units (Fall '15) that is... and graduate fall of 2015 or 15 (Fall '14) and 12 (Spring '15), and graduate Spring of 2015.

Also it wouldn't work to move classes around to graduate Fall of '15, because that wouldn't give me enough units per semester (you need to be in at least 12 units to stay in student housing) to make it work for me to be able to stay here in the dorms on campus where I live. :/ So the first option is out.

Can you take an additional class in your minor to stay in student housing that one semester?

Boo! Not sure you can add an elective of some kind or just an additional class. What did your advisor suggest?

Spoke with friend. She has finals and is doing okay for now.

We don't have the money for me to take any extra classes - if I did it the 12 units one semester and 12 units one semester with three units the third semester - I would need 9 more units to get enough to stay in the dorms and we do not have that kind of money to send me to school to take 3 classes that I don't even need.
We have me in college, my mom in college, and my brother is in college. :/ I tried to convince mom to let me minor in Queer Studies, but we don't have the money to send me to school for even longer - my parents have been paying for 7 years now, going on 8 by the time I do finish... I do get financial aid, but honestly that is only a portion. The rest of it is out of pocket, and we are rich people. Plus right now, I honestly don't think I could handle any more school... I'm so close to just quitting and giving up right now. :/

And I REFUSE to take out any loans... :/

She suggested doing it 15 and 12, and because all the paperwork is already started for me to graduate Spring of '15 there is no choice but to keep going on this path... and go insane because I am not even sure I can handle 15 units of upper division classwork.

And that's great that she's doing ok for now and I hope her finals go alright. :)

Lots of decisions to make. In a way, it's a good thing you have other family members in school so they have an idea of what's going on.

Yeah, but it also makes me feel horrible that I've taken 8 years to get a degree that should have only taken me 4... Because we really don't have the money. D: It really makes me feel really bad for taking this long. :/

That is a lot of classes for you. But if you can do it then you'll finally be done and no more stress!

Oh my god. I'm now teaching belly dance twice this week and then taking advanced class twice a week. I am only halfway through. I'm so exhausted! It's fun but wow is it a lot of work.

It is a lot of classes, and I am not sure I can survive the stress. D: I stress with 12 units... how am I supposed to survive 15?! D:

Give it a go, if it over stresses you, you can always drop a class.

If I drop a class there is no way I can graduate in Spring... because I need all of the classes in order to graduate on time. If I drop a class, I will be 3 units short going into graduation and will have to pay a fee because I'll have to drop out of Spring '15 graduation... So if I go into it with 15 next semester, I have to stick with it all the way through because I'm at that point where every unit is a unit I need in order to graduate. :/

And right now I have absolutely no idea how to do that.. because I'm terrified because the last time that I took 15 units, I drove myself insane that that was with my lower division classes, these are pretty much all going to be without interpreters, and all two hour and forty five minute once a week classes. I'm basically not going to have time for a life at all - no time to do anything fun, or relax. It's going to be school straight for the next year with really no breaks allowed. :/

Set aside a time to talk to a counselor once a week, plan out a schedule, work on yourself during the summer, and contact that tutor in case you need help.

I've never been very good with schedules. I make them and then they get lost, or I just forget all about them.
I'm strange, I hate pressure… and for me schedules mean pressure even if I make them.
I can do them, but they're just not something I'm good with. I think that's why I'm horrible with day planners. xD
I used to buy them - day planners, but they’d never get used.

And right now, I doubt I will even have time to talk to someone, because I'm so stressed and crammed for time this semester, and with an added class of three units for next semester, it's going to be even worse.

I will have to figure out when to see Kathy, but I honestly don't know if/when I can fit her in. D:

Well, honestly if I was doing what was best for me - I would just quit now and go home, because the stress just gets to me. :/ And I just am not sure that I can handle this... I've come so close so many times in the last few years to just throwing in everything and quitting...

So, I hurt my thumb somehow. I ran into the wall, but it was more than my normal klutziness. It feels like I hit it with a hammer. It's all red and swollen and there's a spot that looks bruised. *pout*
