Vera: Yay for internet!!
Steel: Oh, I can relate. I do that sometimes, words just hate me at times and don't make sense.
And ugh! I basically had someone earlier today tell me that because I have young children, I shouldn't fly... because everyone else will appreciate it because they won't have to deal with crying children.
I totally kind of sort of went off on them... Do people not realize that we parents TRY has hard as we can to soothe crying fussing children and there are just times that nothing we do will help. *sighs* :/ But bleh, whatever... let them think whatever they want to think. D: It just kind of upset me.

Looks like everyone's had the same sort of time I've been having, just in their own ways...
I'm so exhausted, I actually fell asleep at night last night. And woke up around my usual bedtime.
So it's sort of neat being here when everyone else is!

Livi: Oh my gosh, what a JERK! I mean, yeah, babies aren't any fun on planes, but seriously, people can't just stop doing things because they had a baby. That's absurd.
For reference, the reason babies tend to cry on planes is because their ears pop and they can't fix it. Sometimes massaging their ear canals helps.
Vera: Wow! You must have been totally exhausted! I'm having a hard time because I've learned that if I nap, it takes me longer to go to bed at night. And I have to be up at like 5:50am tomorrow.

Vera: Oh wow!! Sounds like you really needed sleep.
Steel: They did apoligize, but I really don't feel like they really meant it.
Oh, we tried that with Becca when we used to fly up to Washington state with her when she was younger, nothing we tried helped. Poor girl was in pain and we could do nothing but it was not like we weren't trying. We had a list of things to try to relieve the pressure - none of them worked for her.
The time I flew up to see my brother to stay for a month and Alex drove up closer to Christmas - I was by myself and she cried the ENTIRE flight and I got so many people telling me to get her to be quiet and that I was being a bad parent because I couldn't get my daughter to behave - I think she was less than a year, I forget. It was before my nephew was born, so she was around 6 months old - I think? And I was almost in tears because of how mean the people around me were being. D: I broke down crying in the car with mom as soon as we were out of the airport, it was just so stupid. Bec did ok on the flight to England awhile back (she had just turned 2), but we've not yet flown with Soph - I'm kind of scared to. :/ Not like we have any trips planned but it was the way that they phrased things, and they said they were making a joke about how everyone hates crying babies, and they they commended me for not taking my girls up because that's two less fussy kids on a plane with other people who don't like it.
I swear, if this wasn't online... I would have slapped them! It just pissed me off like no other! HOW DARE THEY SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT! As if we, as the parents, don't control our kids so they cry because we tell them to.. NO! *sighs* :(
Do people think that parents love to hear their kids scream and cry and fuss... no we don't like it just like the next person but sometimes there's nothing that one can do.... we do our best!
But honestly I'd rather fly than drive anywhere long distance. It's much faster despite the fussing and the unhappiness over all.

I cried the last time I was on a plane... I'm sure it annoyed everyone horribly. XD
People need to get over themselves. Babies are babies, and do baby things.
Whatever happened to courtesy? Everyone demands it, but nobody ever gives any of it.

My internet ate my response.
too tired to type it all out again.
Basically yes, I agree - babies will do baby things.
Sometimes they just cry and there's nothing that anyone can do, despite how hard parents try, to console them.
I do my best, I know Alex does too. And to feel criticized because one's child is upset because the pressure in their ears is too much? Geeze!! D:

Yeah, sometimes it doesn't help in the slightest. Hell, sometimes I can't pop my OWN ears on a plane. And it DOES hurt. But for babies ANY discomfort is the worst thing they've ever felt, because they've experienced so little pain in their life.
I love you guys. But I have to be at Convocation at 7am. o_0 SO EARLY. I'm gonna shower and head to bed. I need at least seven hours of sleep to function.

Oh, yeah - it's made me cry, and it is painful - I remember it bothering me even when I was older. It can be painful! Sorry that my 6 month old couldn't handle it. D: I can't just give her gum to try to help, she was waaaay too young for that. People suggested too giving her a pacifier, massaging... etc etc... I can't remember everything now - but it was a list of things to do - and I went through the list, and nothing would help her. Poor dear. :(
Sleep well and sweet dreams dear! And hope that things go well for you tomorrow! :]

Ooh, do tell us all about it when you get back!
And yeah, you'd think people would feel at least a little compassion, right?
I think it's jelaousy. Grown men and women jealous of babies being babied and so they take it out on the parents whenever something's disagreeable.
Bloody full-grown infants.
A little compassion goes a long way, if people only knew it.

It made me want to turn and scream at them - on the plane when this was all happening - this was years ago... to tell them to shut up and I was doing my absolute best.
Ugh, and this whole thing today just made me want to scream at someone.
It has basically put me off of flying with the girls - at all. :/ Because of bad times we've had flying.

I've had bad airplane freakouts before, it's just not worth it to me... but yeah. It's a lot faster getting around.
It's a shame people can't just bring earmuffs with or something, and not be pissy about it.
I really think that if everyone just cared a little more about everyone having a better experience, everyone would be a lot happier, and things like plane trips wouldn't have to seem so awful to so many people.

It is faster, that's the only reason I've not given up on it completely.
And I totally 100% agree with you. People need to be more compassionate, and understanding!

I can understand everyone being stressed all the time, but that's when courtesy's the most important thing of all.
Otherwise, we're no better than monkeys, all those millions of years, wasted. XD
I should start a movement to bring back polite society! Just not the crappy version we had before! XD

I have seen that - and I thought that was a brilliant idea!!
That would cost so much money though to make up enough for everyone on the plane. O.o
And time that I am not sure I would have.
But the idea behind it is brilliant.
Good luck getting through that tomorrow. And hopefully energy finds you soon!!

I can totally understand that -being tired just makes one drain that much faster during the day. That much less energy to use up. I'm tired of being tired as well.

Oh my god. It has been THE LONGEST day on the planet. I was at in-service until 3:00pm and then I hate to take Fizz straight to the veterinarian. Where I spent three and a half hours. And my poor dog had three separate blood draws and a rabies shot.
I am so so so tired. And I am feeling less and less prepared for the coming school year.

Just reading that makes me tired! Do they know what's going on with Fizz?
Today has been an up and down day. I have to say I really do miss nap time.
But a plus, my mum is taking the girls tomorrow for most of the day - and then on Sunday, my mother-in-law wants to spend some time with the girls so I get a bit more me-time this weekend! :]
