Yeah, you used to chat with Inso didn't you, Crow, he mentioned that.

I try to welcome people when I can, but lately haven't had the time to welcome people. It would be nice if more of them came back to chat when people responded to their thread.

Maybe it would help if they got a pm notice that people had responded to their thread but only in the Fresh Meat forum.

They do get told if someone replies to their fresh meat thread There's a banner that lets them know.

I'll try not to scare away any of the new people lol

The Fresh Meat forum is very lively now.
My routine is to go for the threads with less than ten responses, preferably with 0-4 as they are most in need of welcomes and I know how it feels to be the person who gets little to no responses to their newbie thread or even other threads I start. If they have more than ten they are obviously past being welcomed and are actually having conversations with other users.
Just now however, I noticed only two threads with less than ten responses and didn't already have a post from me.

There's even a hangout in there now.
So the message here is getting across.

It's kinda fun actually. I like stalking the Just joined bar at the bottom on the page. Newbie first profile post nom nom nom! XD

I used to haunt the Fresh Meat section, but I was told that I push new users away, so now I don't go there.

I'm not all that active these days anyway, so nobody's missing much.

Welp... dunno how long ago I made this account.. spent some time played a game or two... then... went back to gaia cause I have more stuff, spent more time there, and I actually enjoy the art style. So I guess Inso was right. Who ever he//she is.

@Darkness Within - Well, when meeting new people, I tend to storm into their house without knocking and help myself to the food in the kitchen, making an abominable mess in the process. And after I've eaten all of their cookies, I shove the silver into my pants and escape through the back door before the cops come! That's how you greet someone new to the neighborhood! Also, can't forget the handy dandy ski mask.

Lol For-chan. I can see why that kind of a welcome wouldn't be received well.

People just don't appreciate the value of a good old fashioned welcoming party/silverware robbery!
