Everybody's got something that they can't remember no matter how many times they've learned it or encountered it.

For me, I can't for the life of me remember how to get to the library in one of the towns I frequent. Now, I don't go to that library often, but I have been there enough times that I shouldn't be able to forget where it is each and every time I try to go there. I know the general location, but can't ever find the right street without turning on my GPS.

I also can't remember the exact location of some states and countries no matter how many times I study geography. Apparently I have some problem learning directions and locations...however, there are other things I forget no matter what I do.

So, Mene, what can't you remember?

I always forget to do at least one chore. I remember all the rest but usually forget one.

When I was a teacher's aid I could never remember the kid's names. The only people's names I could remember were the kids that I worked with on a one-to-one basis. I still can't remember people's names in general unless I've worked with them one-on-one.

I can usually remember my chores...doing them...that's a different thing altogether.

I am horrible with names and dates. I also have some trouble remembering specific directions, so I often need to ask another couple of times, especially if I am distracted.

I can't remember birthdays, ever. Consider yourself lucky if I know the month that you were born in.

I also have trouble navigating a certain area of my town, so I always need my GPS in order to go to the dentist or doctor appointments. There are just so many one-way streets! If I tried to get their without any help, I'd be hopelessly lost despite being about one block over from my destination!

I am always trying to multitask, so I often forget at least one of the
six things I am trying to do at a time. It takes me a while to remember it, and
I usually only remember after I have already left the room.

But in regards to things I've learned and forgotten, I don't think there are too many.
I can't remember much of the French I learned after taking a class for it for three years.
I typically forget...anything to do with math. Fractions? I don't even.
If I go over something I learned in high school that I've forgotten, it kind of comes back
to me. I never cared for math so it shouldn't surprise me that I let go of it xD

Oh, I know. I am TERRIBLE at remembering numbers. I can't remember phone numbers
to save my life, and if there is a pass code or something that is a pattern of numbers,
I will immediately mess up the order. I'm pretty good at remembering dates and things,
just not patterns of numbers.

@Knerd: The town I have trouble with has a ton of one way streets, too. I can never figure out how to get over to the street I want without going the wrong way on a road. It also has a ton of tiny little side streets that all look the same.

@Booder: I always forget PIN numbers, phone security codes, and I can't remember specific times. Like, if I'm trying to remember what time a movie is at I'll get it mixed up. Instead of 3:20 I'll remember 2:30. Sometimes I wonder if I have dyscalculia. XP I CAN remember that stuff, but I have to work harder at it than I do with words.

---------- Post added 04-17-2014 at 05:54 PM ----------

@hummy: The only reason I don't get lost when I make a wrong turn is because I have the mountains. They're always to the West, so I can find my way. If I'm in a state without them, though...ooh man.

I cannot ever memorise the phone numbers of my family. I tried numerous times before, I really did, but I always end up forgetting them. I paid for this when my phone broke a couple of weeks ago and I used my old phone. I was out and about and needed to call my mom for something and also text my older sister only to realize I don't have any of their numbers saved on my old phone.

Oh, and Physics. I will never remember the formulas even if I had Physics for three years. That was torture. The only formula I remember and I'm sure of is Einstein's E = mc^2.

My final year of college. I couldn't remember the nights when I got drunk. I would wake up the next morning to find the house a mess. Naturally, I start to clean the place up and then my roomies would walk in and be like, "Soooo, do you remember."

Needless to say, I did a lot of crazy stuff that I don't remember. AND THEY RECORDED IT AS PROOF. Apparently, I decided to strip down to my undies and my Iron Man shirt, leave the apartment, walk to the neighbors, LET MYSELF IN (I had no idea who they were), and decided to play Halo 4 with them. WUT?!

I also visited the other upstairs neighbors and commented that their place smelled like bagels.

Other times that weren't recorded, I was told I did things like...
  • Spill water on the floor in a circle around a pile of straws because I was proving that I was "not drunk and could draw shapes." Lawlz, wut?!
  • Drowned in the couch. Apparently, I kicked off all the cushions and drowned in the couch.
  • Electrocuted myself to death when some ripped off my toy Arc Reactor. I didn't really, but I seized and shook as if I was getting shocked.
  • Took a shower with my clothes on and then went to bed. When they told me that, I remember saying, "That explains why my bed is damp and I have a cold."
  • Kicked in my apartment door, flipped over a couch, and spazzed out because 'Loki was in Stark Tower.'
  • Pretended I was Iron Mew and walked around on all fours demanding to be pet for I was Iron Mew.
  • Cleaned an entire kitchen (not mine) because I was jealous.

Thankfully, I had awesome friends who told me everything that happened. I still won't recommend getting that drunk, though. You drunk call people (ahem, @ISOS Duke) and might be in a bit of trouble the next morning. My boyfriend isn't always pleased with how I behave when drunk. ^^;

Yes Wifey, I get MANY drunk phone calls from you. It makes me feel special to know that when you can't think straight you think of me XD Then again, the messages, phone calls and texts never really make much sense anyway XD

I share much with Booder... Work requires a lot of multitasking. Once I get off lunch I have at least 3 things that I need to work on of top priority and then a list of things to get done. I have to redo the list because it keeps moving in my notebook... It gets to the point that I have so much to do that I don't remember any of it @.@

I can't recall much French off the top of my head either, even having for also taken it for 3 years. I could probably get it pretty quick, but I'm not as good with it as I used to be.

Does forgetting what you went into a room for count?! What about forgetting where you put something you just set down or have in your hand? Oh, I also forgot my badge in my office when I went on lunch. It has the keys to get in my office and my badge unlocks the doors to actually let me in the building. This is what you call skills XD

Anything and EVERYTHING
I forget my birthday, forget my age, I guess the only thing I don't really forget is my name I forget the year we live in, I forget the names of people, mix up all the people, and go upstairs and come back again forgetting what I was supposed to do. I'm often at a disadvantage because of this, but sometimes this can be good, especially when I forget hurt too. But hurt is never easy to forget, for anyone Even when you forget the reason for it, the hurt still remains

Dates, names, anything with numbers. I have to write appointments in a calendar on paper plus enter the information on my phone's or laptop calendars. Not cool if you're in the field of History!! I remember faces and events easily, particularly when I can make connections between them.

Ooh, I'm also really bad with faces. Like, epically terrible. It takes multiple class sessions before I can remember what my professors look like. And at work, if I'm helping a customer and have to leave for a moment (like to go get something for them or find information for them) and I come back and they've moved, sometimes I can't find them because I don't remember who I was helping. Usually I can recognize them by the color of their shirt better than their face. I just have to make sort of awkward eye contact with them until they get a look of "oh yay, you're back to help me!" I'm really great with names, though. So I may not be able to pick someone out of a line up, but I can tell you their full name.

I'm also really terrible with numbers. If you read off, say, a math problem to me, I won't be able to write it down unless you go really slowly or repeat it multiple times. Likewise, if I were to read a math problem and then go to copy it down, I would have to look at the problem many times. And even then, I still might make a mistake. ><

Xavirne, your drunk stories are hilarious. I've never gotten drunk enough to do crazy stuff and/or not remember it the next morning. I just get a lot more chatty and say every stupid thing that comes to my mind. But it's not really that different than how I am normally, it's just me turned up a few notches.

Groceries. I can remember the general amount of things I need to get, but never everything. It doesn't help that I forget to grab the list put in the place where it is easy to grab before heading out the door

There's hardly a food shopping trip that doesn't involve me taking my phone and calling home

Oh god, yes, that. One thing that helps is to keep a notepad on your fridge or somewhere else in the kitchen. The moment you notice "hey, I need to buy more of this thing," just immediately go write it down. Then when you go shopping, either copy stuff down from that list onto a separate piece of paper, or just tear off the page and take it with you.

Names, I can't remember names for some reason. Unless it is family, friends, or co-workers I work with the most, I cannot remember names. I may remember someone's face, but don't ask me to remember your name unless you have a nametag on or I see you almost every damn day.
