I didn't find out about my account being hacked until maybe a few days later since I rarely check my email when they mailed me about someone logging in from a new place. I finally checked and it was from some weird place like in Europe or Africa or something so I know it definitely wasn't me.

Oh yeah, for sure that would have been so bad! for the credit card not your nearly empty steam account xD But if someone had a bunch of stuff, yeah that would be bad xD I had someone use my email to make a change.org account to sign things with (which was weird idk) but I was like wtaf and there was no "this isn't me" option, so I changed the password and then deleted the account xD

Ugh I should probably delete that Yahoo email account I got, it keeps getting people using it to sign up to things and it's super annoying having to unsubscribe from stuff and sending messages to platforms telling them that it's not me. I even got an email where the person using my email was trying to get her account back because she got blocked from using my email! Wtf!

That's kinda funny tbh xD I mean still frustrating but the nerve of some people xD To use someone else's email and the throw a fit because that person noticed xD

Also if you change your email let me know please I don't wanna lose touch

I'm actually kind of suspecting that it's a case of repeat account name...like I was surprised that the account name went through because it seemed like it would've been taken already, so I'm guessing that it WAS taken, but for some reason my request went through so now we're sharing email accounts or something.

And it's not the one I use most, so don't worry That one was originally made because I wanted to buy something on Yahoo and they required an account so I got one, but I ended up not buying the thing anyway.

Oh okay! That's super weird xD but I'm glad it's just an extra account I don't like that now to make any new email you HAVE to provide a phone number. I even got a textnow number because I don't put my phone number into anything, and it said it needed to be a "valid phone number" so it's like, what if someone doesn't even have a smartphone? lots of people don't still. Idk it just seems dumb to me. Like having the option to add your number is fine, but i hate when they MAKE you do things.

Which is why I've been considering deleting the account, if it's even possible...

Like even at my doctor's office, I went to a new one and they sent me a thank you new patient card, but they put my name as Susan (my name is Sarah) and THEN I GOT NUMEROUS TEXTS FROM DIFFERENT NUMBERS CALLING ME SUSAN AND IDK HOW THAT'S POSSIBLE BECAUSE MY PHONE NUMBER ISN'T IN MY DOCTOR RECORDS. We always use my mom's because she's the one that answers her phone all the time (and I have anxiety about phones so I just avoid it) so like, how the F did they get "Susan (last name)" with MY phone number? That's not on ANY form? I'm sure my number is listed in places and whatever, but it would have my actualy Fing name

They probably recorded it when whoever this Susan is so now you're getting all her stuff.

And I just remembered that I'm using that Yahoo account as my tumblr's email...I wonder if I can change it to my other email...urgh...

Yeah but it had my last name, my address, and my phone number.... and we don't have anyone in our family named Susan and even if we did we don't have family here lol. Idk I'm just worried about having an "alias" now. My dad was at the DMV once and they misprinted his name as Julio instead of his name and even tho it was fixed RIGHT away, like before he even left, he got a bunch of stuff for "Julio" and then he was trying to get a job later or something (i don't actually remember what he was trying to do) but they were all like "HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD THIS ALIAS. WHY HAVE YOU LIED TO US" so now I'm super paranoid about that happening with "susan"

Probably not, and again, my phone number wasn't listed with that name, and if they looked up my address, it'd have my real name. So, idk where it even happened. And it's probably fine because it wasn't on something official like a license/ID, but....idk

Yeah, that's weird how that happened. D: I hope nothing bad comes of it :( I've only used aliases online or when filling out questionnaires so hopefully it wouldn't affect the official stuff. >.>

haha yeah I never use my real info for stuff online unless it's official xD in fact I think this account on mene is like the only thing with my actual birthday. Which got me in some trouble when I was trying to clear up which account was my mule account because I put a different birthday in, like I usually do, and then it didn't match up but that got all cleared up now so :D

Ohh. I usually go with my real birthday online, I only use different names. You're more careful than I am

I'm definitely paranoid af Also I did have SBI show up to my door (like the FBI but state based) asking if I knew someone because she tried to steal an identity of someone with my name, so I'm not sure if it was actually me or another person with my name (because there's a few) and it actually looked like someone who I might have known off facebook (that's what they were asking me) and I had my birthday listed there, so yeah.....there's reason to be paranoid lol

What Wow I guess I need to be even more paranoid I rarely even post pictures of myself, usually it's from a friend or someone who posts my pictures online and I never approve them on Facebook because I don't want it to show up on my timeline ;;

I think if it was me, it was from the pharmacy tho, because they said she was doing that, overhearing when people would say their name and birthday, and that's always freaked me out too because people say it so loudly and I'm not a criminal but I've always been like "that's so easy to steal wtf" so......I'm just a ball of paranoia xD

Yeah pretty much. I'm sure they just used that and looked other stuff up, but yeah. It's pretty amazing.

And there keeps being more and more gadjets to steal info now too cars even. There was a thing people have that if you use your key fob to lock your car in a parking lot, they can catch that signal and put it into one of theirs, and unlock your car and take it without the alarm going off {gonk] so now we always lock it with the door

I am so protective of all of my information anymore it's not even funny. I've had my identity's stolen twice and just recently my credit card was used in New York to buy a bunch of stuff I would never buy for my own self even. My bank caught it and the only thing I wasn't reimbursed for was $58 worth of pizza from Brooklyn pizza Brooklyn New York I don't live in New York anymore

Yeah, I've heard about the car thieves thing, and with more and more people using fobs to open their cars, it just makes it even easier for the thieves to steal the car.
