"I'd imagine at least one of the metalworking profs can," Rea said with a shrug. "I dunno, I haven't spent much time with them. I know some of the ceramics profs can put the ceramics into and out of the oven without gloves."

"Awesome, more people like me," Bucky said, grinning. He snickered. "You should see Steve when I handle the cast iron pan in the morning, his eyes still kind of bug out."

Rea snickered. "I bet," she said, grinning. "I'm kind of jealous, actually, that would save me so many burns."

"It was useful when I was learning how to weld," Bucky admitted. "And in the Army, it was real useful."

"I bet." Rea smiled. "Dad told me a lot of stories of his time in the Army, but he also managed to miss various wars."

Bucky snorted.

"Lucky guy," he muttered. "S'not always what it's cracked up to be."

"I know. I have a cousin who just retired a year or so ago, got up to colonel, but then he also joined right after high school." Rea shrugged. "I've heard a couple of horror stories from him."

Bucky made a vaguely affirmative noise.

"Army likes people like me," he said. "The ones good with metal."

"I bet." Rea reached across the table to pat his hand. "I'm lucky that way, I'm not useful enough that anyone in particular wants me."

"Dabbling's not bad though," Bucky said. "You get to play around with a bunch of stuff."

"Yeah, and it is fun," Rea agreed. "Gives me no shortage of options."

Bucky grinned.

"So what all do you work with, anyways?" he asked. "You said clay, right? What else?"

"Wood, leather, and jewelry making materials, so beads, crystals, wire, that kind of thing. All the jewelry making stuff is premade, the beads and all that, so I just put everything together. Although sometimes I'll make clay beads." Rea shrugged. "I can't do anything super intricate with the wood or leather, but I can do enough."

"Fun stuff," Bucky said. "Sounds like you'd be set if you wanted to set up your own kind of shop eventually."

"I'm thinking about it," Rea agreed with a little grin. "I mean I take commissions at the moment, but I want to at least try the glass and metal working too, see if I can make some stuff with those."

Bucky nodded.

"Well, we'll both have to see how glass works out," he said, grinning. "I can help you with metal, if you need it."

"Thanks." Then Rea grinned. "Hey, who knows, maybe if I open a store I'll hire you on for the metalworking."

Bucky grinned.

"We'll see," he said. "You might not need anyone else for it, who knows."

"You've got a talent for it, you'll always be better at it than I am," Rea pointed out practically.

"We'll see what happens," Bucky said. He shrugged. "Who knows, you might have a bit of a talent for it too that just hasn't bloomed yet."

"Maybe," Rea said, though she didn't sound at all optimistic about that. "We'll see, I guess."

Bucky nodded.

"We can go down and see about signing up now, if you want," he offered. "I don't have any other plans today, so I'm all yours."

"All mine? Sounds promising." Rea grinned at that but nodded. "Sure. Once we're done with coffee we can go sign up. Might as well."

"Sounds like a plan, then," Bucky said, grinning.

Rea grinned and finished off her coffee, giving him time to finish as well.

"So, any other workshops we should look at? They've got a full list posted."
