"The Army?" Chastity asked, interested. "I hadn't realized you were in the Army. For how long?"

"Six years. Four years active duty, two years reserve," Steve said with a brief grin. "Me and my best friend both."

"Wow," Chastity said. "That's a long time. Did you settle back into regular life okay?"

"I'm doing pretty well," Steve said with a nod. "Better than Buck, I think. It's harder for him. I keep telling him he should take a few metalworking classes, but..." He shrugged helplessly.

"But you can't force him to," Chastity said, nodding. "So he likes working with metal?"

"Yeah. He fiddles a lot, does some work on the side. He's pretty good at it." He smiled. "And he hasn't managed to burn another kitchen table since high school."

Chastity couldn't help but laugh a little at that.

"Well, that's good," she said. "Hey, is he any good at amulets? I've been looking for someone to make me a couple."

Steve blinked. "That I'm not sure of," he admitted. "I haven't seen him working on any, but I can ask for you."

"That would be amazing," Chastity said, grinning. "I've been looking all over for someone who makes amulets, it would be awesome if your friend turns out to make them."

Steve nodded. "What kinds of amulets?" he asked. She already had her thread magic, and she'd mentioned weaving runes in, but the runes could be somewhat limiting. Plus he was curious.

"A couple different ones," Chastity said. "Something to encourage better focus, promote calm and peace..." She blushed a bit, her face going pink. "Maybe something to attract love."

Steve smiled a bit at that, not even teasing her. "I'll ask him, see if he can," he said.

"That would be great, thanks," Chastity said, still a bit pink.

Steve nodded and wrote down his number for her, sliding the napkin across the table. "In case you need to remind me to ask him," he said, blushing a little himself.

Chastity grinned a bit and took the napkin. Tearing off a bit of it, she wrote her own number down and slid it over to him.

"So you can let me know," she said.

Steve grinned and nodded, taking the bit of napkin.

"I'll see if I can get an answer out of him when I get home."

"Great," Chastity said. She finished her coffee and grinned a bit at him.

Steve glanced at his watch and grimaced a bit. "Unfortunately I think it's time for me to be heading back."

"How late is it?" Chastity asked. She pulled out her phone. "Ah, yes, right, I should be getting back, too. Class soon." She smiled at him. "This was a lot of fun, we should do this again sometime."

"We should," Steve agreed with a little grin. "I'll see you again sometime soon?" He phrased it as a question deliberately.

Chastity bit her lip a little, smiling and turning a bit pink.

"Yeah," she said. "See you soon."

Steve nodded and headed back to the apartment. Maybe Bucky would even be up by then.

"You awake?" he called as he set his keys down and took off his shoes.

"Yeah, I'm up," Bucky said, coming out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee. "You were gone when I got up, I'm surprised."

"Class, remember?" Steve said, snorting at him. "We've got class every day this week because of the modeling."

"Thought class ended a while ago," Bucky said. "You're usually back and breaking out the pencils way earlier than this, unless it's not as late as I thought it was."
