Ianto was getting the feeling that they were not going to make it to dinner, which is a shame because he really did make really good stir fry. oh well, Jack was way better than stiry fry, that's for sure. Ianto drove to the store as calmly as he could with jacks advances.
Tosh started to ramble on and on about the health benefits to fresh air and walking and then she moved into the difference between country air and city air, and the toxins associated to incomplete combustion and other particulate in the air. She was so nervous she even started using the scientific names for the chemical compounds involved in making smog... she just kept going on and on about the most mundane things hoping that at some point he would interrupt her or at least they would make it to the place they were going...

Once they got in the car Jack backed off a bit. He didn't want them to crash. He knew he would be fine, but he was more worried about Ianto. He just had his hand on Ianto's leg. "So what all goes into this stir fry?" Jack asked as they drove. He was rather hungry.
"We're here." Owen said. Though he was a bit sad that he wouldn't be hearing her talk about all that sciency stuff. Even though it usually bored him to tears it didn't bore him as much when it was her explaining it all. He had wished he had had more to contribute to the conversation. He held the door open for her. This was not a dive by any means. It was a reputable establishment and was decorated rather nicely.

"Well there is rice, but I have that at home... and that's the base that everything goes on. Its lightly flavoured but not overly flavoured and there are vegetables. Like broccoli and carrots and peppers and onions. But to make things interesting I try to mix it up with some water chestnuts and bamboo hearts. Add some chicken on top and you got yourself a 4 star meal. " Ianto laughed inside at his description of his meal. It really did taste good, it just sounded boring when he described it. He hoped that Jack wasn't bored by it or by his mundane home life where he cooks stir fry.
"Wow, thank you Owen. This place looks really nice. Have you been here many times before?" Tosh asked inquisitively. She was overwhelmed by the class of the place and she felt under dressed. She was so mousy and frumpy today, her usual practical outfit for work... but she was just out of place here. Even the people wearing jeans looked better in those jeans than she did in her slacks. She brushed her pants off as best she could trying to make herself more presentable. " I should have worn something more suiting..." she mumbled.
(this is super awesome, not only is the story captivating right now but i am earning so much gold!!! XD)

"It sounds wonderful." Jack said. He really did mean it. It sounded simple and unfussy. Just like his Ianto. He broke out into a grin with that thought. Ianto was his. Though he has already promised himself that if Ianto should meet somebody else, somebody mortal, he would step back and not stand in his way. He loved Ianto, with all that he was and had ever been, but he would be damned if he tried to monopolize what time Ianto had in this life.

"It is." Ianto smiled back. They pulled into the grocery store and bought the needed ingredients without much of a fuss. Everything was going so smoothly. Ianto was genuinely happy with the mundane act of grocery shopping as well. It was relaxing and mindless and he had kind of missed it. Which is strange really, considering the exiting life he leads with his job.

Jack enjoyed walking around the grocery store with Ianto. His life had been so full of high adventure for so long it was nice just to do something as mundane as shopping for ingredients for a homemade dinner. And if he were honest with himself he was very much looking forward to this dinner. In recent years his life had been full of eating out, he wasn't much of a cook himself. When they got back to Ianto's place he took off his jacket hanging it on the coat rack. He stretched a bit wondering if he might be able to find the time to get a massage. bloodstainedwings:

"Make yourself at home Jack. I am going to cook and we shall eat once it is done. It will take a few minutes though, hope that is alright." Ianto said as he started preparing the vegetables and getting out the rice, cutting board and knives. He calmly washed the vegetables and set the rice to cook, making the meal as normally as he could. He figured that since Jack seemed to have enjoyed grocery shopping, he might enjoy the relaxing mundane activity of cooking.

"Need any help with any of it?" Jack asked as he leaned against the wall. He watched Ianto move around the kitchen and it mesmerized him. Everything about Ianto mesmerized him. The man was handsome in a manly sort of way. If Jack were to be honest with himself Ianto was one of the most handsome men he has ever had the good fortune to know. bloodstainedwings:

"Actually, its almost done" Ianto put everything together on two plates and got out some cutlery. "I will bring it to the table. But if you wanted to find something for us to drink from the wine fridge. There isnt anything super fancy, but there is some nice stuff in there. The wine glasses are hanging above it." Ianto set the table and took his seat and waited for Jack to pour the wine.

"A wine freezer?" Jack raised his eyebrow. "Who would have thought?" He goes and grabs a bottle and two glasses. "Dinner smells wonderful." Jack commented heading to the table with the wine. He secretly wished this could be forever. He wished that they weren't part of Torchwood. He kept those feelings out of his face. He didn't want to upset Ianto or ruin this evening. bloodstainedwings: OOC: Oh I had an idea.

Ianto and Jack ate their meal and chatted about their day and the crazy things that happened. soon enough they were finishing up their meal.
"Wow, I feel like the time just flies by while eating here with you." Ianto genuinely felt great. full and relaxed.

"Yeah me too," Jack says. "By the way this is delicious. I should have you cook for me more often."
[That they are retrieving some alien tech and their is an explosion or it goes off some how and that they are then in a time line where they live together and aren't a part of Torchwood and we have some cute fluffy Janto moments.]

"yeah maybe I should. Although I am willing to admit... this is the only thing I am really good at. Maybe next time we can make something together."
They both smiled. This was nice, but man was it boring. Ianto felt in his pocket and realized while he had tagged the artifact they found today, he actually forgot to put it away.
"Hey, what does this thing do anyway?" Ianto said as he brought it out from his pocket and put it on the table. It just looking like a small, slightly glowing rock, But Jack seemed to want to make sure that when it came through the rift that nothing got it's hands on it. Something about influencing the time line or creating a time bubble... Ianto didnt really pay much attention when it came to time shifts. They just seemed improbable to him, despite Jack and Gwen's recent adventure. He figured, it probably had something to do with that man, or that building. Nothing like a little gem like this could do. It seemed so harmless.
Suddenly, the rock started to glow brighter and brighter. It was getting warmer and warmer. It burst into flames and Ianto did the only thing he could think of, throw his drink on it. When he looked up, Jack was still there, but they were not in Ianto's apartment.
[like that?]

[That works.]
Jack had been cooking dinner and he turned and smiled at his husband. "Hey good looking." He said as he flipped the steaks on the grill and started adding the veggies. "Dinner is almost ready." The house was located out in the country. Jack leaned in and kissed Ianto's cheek. He loved this man, and this house. Just then their German Shepard came bounding up. "Hey there Rosco." The dog barked. In Jack's mind the only thing that would make this scene more perfect was a couple of kids playing in the yard. bloodstainedwings:

Ianto looked around confused. Were they not just in his apartment? did Ianto not just make dinner? What the hell happened? Jack seemed unaware. Ianto didnt want to let on that anything was wrong with him but still...
"Jack, whats going on?" Ianto asked. He didnt want to burst this happy scene, but something was wrong. something has changed and Ianto had no idea why. Jack always was able to figure these things out.

"What do you mean? I told you we'd cookout when you got back from work." He said wondering what was wrong with his husband. Rosco rubs against Ianto's leg. "He missed you. He's always happy when you get home. And so am I." Jack said with a smile getting everything off the grill. He took the stuff to the table on the back porch. "Want a beer?" Jack asked heading to their out door fridge. bloodstainedwings:

"Jack." Ianto paused and remembered the stone... Maybe Ianto was transported somewhere to some alternate universe, maybe this was not his Jack.... maybe he was all alone in a strange place and had no one he could trust. He decided if he was going to survive he had to play it cool. "I would love one. Sorry, work was a little stressful today and I lost myself" He pet the dog and walked to the table to take a seat. He was on his own it seemed. He had to figure a way to get home. They needed him at Torchwood. He wondered if there was a Torchwood here, and if there was, how would he even find them... where would he start?

Jack grabs a couple of beers from the fridge. He was still worried about his husband. Something seemed a bit off to him. Though in the back of his head there was a nagging feeling that this scenario wasn't right. Jack tried to shake off the feeling but it just wouldn't go away. He sets a beer down in front of Ianto then sits down with his. This isn't right. This isn't how things are supposed to be. The voice in his head said over and over. Jack rubbed his temples. bloodstainedwings:

"Wow, this looks great Jack!" Ianto said enthusiastically. It did look great. Ianto had no idea Jack could cook like this, but then again... Ianto wasnt sure this was his Jack. Ianto noticed Jack rubbing his temples when he cam back with some beer. "Are you ok Jack?" Ianto said. He grabbed the beers and put them on the table. He hoped that either this is the real Jack and its all coming back to him or that this Jack is not realizing that he isnt his Ianto. Things could go very baddly, very quickly if it was anything else. Ianto made a quick glace around to make sure he knew where his exits where, just in case.

"This isn't right." He whispered. He hated to admit but it wasn't. Was this man his Ianto. Was there a Torchwood? What was happening with the others? He should find away to get back, but honestly he wanted to stay in whatever world they were in. He wanted this life. He wanted this so much. He popped open his beer and took a deep swig. bloodstainedwings:

"Whats not right Jack? Is there something wrong with your beer?" Ianto was sweating bullets on the inside. This Jake was about to figure out that he wasnt is Ianto. Thats the worst possible scenario. Ianto knew that this wasnt his Jack, because if it was his Jack, he wouldnt have had time to barbecue. He would have been transported just like Ianto was, in the clothes he was already wearing and the same frame of mind. Ianto had no idea who this dog was, but Jake knew. Clearly this was not his Jack, Ianto knew that now. But having him find out that he isnt his Ianto... this could be devastating. also, what if that Ianto comes home? What would he say to finding another Ianto?

"Something seems off... about everything." He shakes his head trying to remove the fog. He remembered... what... a flash of light. Then he was at the grill cooking. But he hadn't been cooking before. Ianto had been cooking. He had had the artifact with him... and it had gone off. bloodstainedwings: [I am thinking it effected them differently.]

[ok... but i started it with Ianto remembering his apartment. So as to imply that it was the same Ianto and that the stone just teleported them not affecting their minds. You started it with Jack not remembering where he was hence the direction I took. I thought that was how you meant it to be]
Ianto just stood there frozen. Terrified of what was going on since he had no idea what was going on. He didnt know what to do at all, he really wished Jack was here, he would know what to do. Maybe if Ianto just played it cool?
"Its probably the barometric pressure. There is a storm front coming in for the night, its probably just affecting your head. Why not sit down and eat?" and then he added with a small pause "Sweety".

[Well I was thinking maybe it has different effects depending on how close a person is to it. And Jack was farther away. But I like having the conflict.]
"We were at your place... making stir fry." He mumbled. Maybe he was just imaging things. He just wasn't sure anymore. He sat down in his spot. Though this wasn't right. He didn't have a house. He had the hub. "I hope your steak is done the way you want it." He forced himself to play this game. He would figure out how to get home later. bloodstainedwings:

[me too. i felt it was really interesting and it kinda made me wanna post more. I also liked the internal panic that ianto went through. He is so calm on the outside all the time but i just knew he paniced on the inside. it was nice to showcase]
"I'm sure its great because you made it. " Ianto smiled. He thought he heard Jack say something about stir fry but he wasnt certain. He took a swig of his beer and pretended like all was okay. Maybe it was his Jack though... he certain looks and smells like his Jack, but then again, maybe all Jack's smell and look the same. Its strange to think there might be more then one of everyone... he wondered if there was a Gwen here... and a Tosh... what if there was a Torchwood here... what if they found him... what would they do? would they help? could they be trusted? who would they be? Maybe in this world Lisa was still... no. He couldnt bear to have that thought. He focused on the steak and tried to strike up a coversation.
"So how was your day Jack?"
