Hey guys.
So I was watching Rhett and Link's GMM videos a few months back and one of the episodes featured something called "ASMR", and after watching their video, I went around YouTube looking for other ASMR styled videos.
After watching a few and checking out a few different people, I discovered I really enjoy watching them as I go to bed.
I don't fully understand the concept, but basically I know that the ASMR artists use binaural microphones to create relaxing videos for people.
These kinds of videos can trigger 'tingles', which are basically chills on your scalp and various other parts of your body.

Has anyone else discovered this part of YouTube yet?
Do you like it?

If you have watched or have been watching for awhile, do you find yourself tapping on objects to see if they trigger, or do you pick up on triggers in your day-to-day life you hadn't noticed before?
I'm doing that with the new keyboard I just received as I type on it :P

I've known about it, but never took the time to watch it. There was a thread about this a few months back, here :D
All I know for now is that when my professor drags his chalk over the board I have to close my ears and grit my teeth and I don't think thats a part of ASMR

I've tried stuff like that, but I can get the same effect by... I don't know how to explain it... sort of relaxing my skull...

It's like it just washes over me, and I feel all refreshed and stuff.

I guess imagining that I'm relaxing my skull is just my personal trigger? It sort of feels like my eyeballs are moving back and slightly upward when I do it... or like I'm flexing my head.

I found it quite by accident, but certain kinds of music do seem to work well with it for stronger effects. It's like getting high without anything illegal or immoral or fattening being involved..

Yes, I've heard of it. I practice it regularly.

....That kinda sounds weird, doesn't it? I just mean--life is hectic and stressful. It's a good way to calm down and stop living so fast. It also makes me extremely sleepy, so that helps aid with my insomnia.

I don't know if this is the same thing but ill often listen to relaxing soundtracks that use binureal beats to either get rid of headaches or help trigger lucid dreaming. :'3
