Gemini Hunter
Age: 19
Bio: When Gemini was five years old, she wandered into a forest near her house where some very dangerous creatures lived. She was missing for two days and no one expected her to live, but on the third day she wandered back out, confused and unable to remember anything that had happened. She should have died there, and no one knows how she didn't. Death has been a close companion to Gemini her whole life. Her mother died in childbirth, and her father died when she was six from a stray gunshot. After that, she lived alone in the house she had shared with her father, just trying to survive. Now, at 19, she's a tough and intelligent young woman who knows how to take care of herself.

Name
William Faucheuse
Age
'22'
Bio
Long, long ago, William was once human.
He had lived a fairly normal life, despite the fact that he always stuck to himself. And that he had a very unusual interest in dark arts, and death. He got a job as an undertaker, and practically loved every moment of it.
And when he was beaten to death in an alleyway by some drunkards who mistook him for somebody else, he met somebody he never imagined he'd ever see; a grim reaper.
He then was taken to Death, the leader of the Reapers. The Reaper from before had done this, due to him thinking William would make a good Reaper himself. He was taught how to do this and that, and was sent on his way to practice for years.
Eventually, he had been given the name Gemini Hunter, a five year old girl. This was his first name, too. He didn't really like that it was a little kid.
Once he saw her, he felt reluctant. Maybe he could.. put it off, for a while? Just until she's of a more proper age? He did so, but it seemed that never came. It seemed.. He had grown fond of the little girl.

A small house, quaint by the standards of the times, stood alone on the outskirts of a large forest. This forest was one of the last on the planet, a protected area filled with many dangerous animals, endangered species, and various types of mutated creatures left over from the Great Rain thirty years before. The Great Rain was an event that happened when the Earth, desperate during a time of war, was nearly destroyed. The Japanese and the Americans had worked together to create an ultimate weapon to end the war. The weapon created a rain of radioactive fire that covered the Earth. Millions died, and those that were left carried on to create a peaceful world, but the most dangerous product of the Great Rain was the animals that survived, mutated and then mated. It was mostly safe outside the forests, but inside was a death zone.
Gemini Hunter, a 19-year-old girl who lived in the quaint little house, stood at the very edge of the forest and thought about these things. It was something she did often, when she had nothing else to do. When she was five years old, she had wandered into that very forest and disappeared for two days. She knew that by all accounts, she should be dead. Everyone knew that. During the times that she stood and stared at the forest, she tried hard to remember what had happened in those days. It never worked, of course, and she was left with a blank in her memory.
Gemini often went into the forest to hunt for food. She could have gone to the city (if a small settlement in the ruins of an old town could be called a city,) but it was a three mile walk and she had nothing to barter. Besides, every time she went there, she had to deal with the staring and whispers.
That's the miracle girl.
Poor child, all alone.
Death follows that one.
And so on. So, from age six onward, Gemini had taught herself to hunt and survive, and continued living in the house her father had left behind. There were other instances when she should have died but didn't, but she was used to it by now. Death, she thought, was her only friend, the only thing she had ever been able to count on. Of course she knew that Death wasn't a sentient thing- fairy tales like that had all but died out since the Great Rain. In a post-apocalyptic world, what need did anyone have for children's stories? Still, sometimes she would talk out loud to a being she knew didn't exist.
"Why, when my mother and father died, am I still alive? Why, when that forest should have killed me? When I caught that fever and had no food or water? When I was bitten by that snake? And when my friend and I were attacked by that mutant, and I begged Death to save her and take me instead, did she still die even though my wounds were worse?" She asked the forest now, closing her eyes and feeling the wind on her face. Of course there was no answer. What would happen if she drank poison, or contracted that sickness that was sweeping through the city? It was incurable, she heard, and 100 percent deadly. And Gemini was pretty sure that it would reach her soon...if it hadn't already.

How long had it been? It almost felt like the blink of an eye to him, but his watch would tell him it had been about thirteen years. Thirteen years that he had looked over the girl, that he had kept her safe. Thirteen years that he'd spent wishing he could let himself be seen. Thirteen years that this Reaper was, in fact, Gemini Hunter's only Guardian.
William had come to have a fondness for the little girl, one of a protector. He'd grown attached to the small, quaint home. Truthfully, there had been sad times. Times that had made him feel guilty. Was she not happy with the gift that he offered her? He could never take it back though, he couldn't let her die now.
He couldn't let her die after everything he had done for her, but why did she have to make it so difficult?! Why couldn't she just stay to herself, and not go into that beastly forest? Or maybe.. Was it his fault? Was it his fault that she has almost died so many times? Because he didn't let it happen that first time, was he to blame for this life she leads?
How could he do this to her? But then.. How could he not? Looking at her face, hearing the words she spoke, it pained his heart. "Because I'm a selfish fool, and you were a little girl. How could I take that innocence?" He asked to nothing in particular. He would rarely speak, but when he did it was mostly as she was sleeping. He would just wait for her, in the main room. Speaking to himself. He never really had spoken to her, or had even tried. It was pointless. He couldn't show himself to her. He couldn't let her hear him. It was amazing that he hadn't gotten in very much trouble yet. If he ever did such a thing, he was sure it'd be the end of him.

After staring at the forest for quite a while, Gemini decided it was time to stop. She couldn't keep torturing herself with questions that would never be answered. Instead, she turned and walked into her house. Though it was almost sunset, she wasn't hungry. This worried her slightly, as she had always had a healthy appetite before. She had come into contact with a few infected the last time she had entered the city for supplies, but shewhad been sure that she had taken the right precautions. Surely she wasn't sick...right?
To take her mind off of her worries, Gemini did the one thing that had ever relaxed her, besides hunting. She went to the old upright piano sitting in the corner of the small sitting room. The house itself was old and a little worn, the furniture beat up, the rugs dusty, but the piano shone like new. Clearly it was well taken care of. Sitting on the smooth wooden bench, she lifted the fall board and placed her fingers lightly over the keys. A tiny smile came over her face as she started to play the song her father used to play when she was young.
Once it was finished, Gemini sat for a moment with her eyes closed, a peaceful smile gracing her usually harsh features. Feeling better now, she got up and headed over to the adjoining kitchen, where she fixed herself a sandwich and a glass of milk. The world had recovered quickly enough from the Great Rain, so "modern" amenities like milk, indoor plumbing, and even cars were available. The biggest difference was that people were eating healthier these days, and of course the fact that instead of money, a trade system had been set up. Another change was that the few cars that were still around were environmentally friendly, running on solar charge batteries, and even they were only used by people who knew how to work on them. Most people walked, or rode bikes or horses. All in all, it was a good time to live in. Besides the mutants, of course.
"Thank you father, for teaching me how to hunt." Gemini spoke the same words every time she sat down to eat. After a few bites, she started to feel a bit off, so she wrapped up the sandwich and put it in the fridge (thank goodness for the solar generator outside) and went to her room, the smaller of the two that the house sported. She had outgrown her bed long ago, but since she didn't have anything to trade for a new one, she just slept in a bedroll on the floor. Laying down, she sighed. "It's just a cold, that's all. Just a cold. I don't have the Sickness." And even if she did, she wouldn't know for sure until twelve hours after the first symptom appeared. "No use worrying about it now."
((Here's the song she played. Wolfie has been waiting to use this song for something! http://youtu.be/zNbaMolFSck ))

(( ~Wild Spirit Wolf~: I'm so sorry, my schedule's been hectic. When I woke up, somebody else was always on. My family works at night, so my best time is day to get on. But then I decided to go help my sister with her night job. That's when everything got horrible. I am working on my post, though it might take a little time.))
