I'm exhausted. I woke up at 2 am got a little bit more sleep and have been up since 430am.
I have shit to do today. I have to call the IRS and Obamacare and possibly Blue cross blue shield. Because I'm being asked to resubmit my taxes. So I guess I'm being audited?
I need to do laundry and clean the kitchen. And I'm dizzy from being so sleepy.

Oh and the cat was up puking last night too, so I'm watching her as well.

Sick kitty cat is no fun. Hope she starts feeling better.

Ugh, IRS can suck it.

It can, and I'm still waiting on important tax documents to strive after i called last week. If those arrive I might be able to finally be done with taxes.
In other news I'm back at work, teaching at the park again. I missed it and now I'm back I hope my mental state will return. If not, if anyone finds my motivation and will to be interesting please return it.

The season where turtles lay their eggs on the beach and the baby turtles hatch and make the long trek to the water.

It has been cicada season Ohio for a few weeks now. Turtle season has nothing on that.

Cicada season doesn't have you awake at 4am to be at work to show them to hundreds of tourists at the ass crack of dawn. Most people don't care about cicadas. I do. I care about them more than turtles. And stupid visitors are making me sick.

Enjoy this damn picture of baby turtles.

I'm gonna take a fucking nap... and some cold meds.

We get some kind of katydid mostly. I know we have to have some kind of cicada since we get the cicada killer wasps. But it's an island, with a prairie, and almost no trees. Also everything is sand. And heat. And fuck Texas it's hot as balls here. We had a heat index of 112° today and they didn't put us under a heat advisory. Shit I have a picture of the cicadas we get I almost forgot that I had found and capture one last year. It was green and cream and had red eyes... I think it was a dog day cicada, but can't remember and fuck all.

When do your cicadas come out? Ours are the 17 year ones.

And Texas is made for high temperatures. We've hit record highs of mid 90s and stuff here and we haven't hit that in a long time.

Every year. Or every three years, they're a short cycle cicada.

Ah, the more annual cicada. Is there bazillions of them like here?

Cicadas for me are a new thing because there was only one other time here they came out(99') and I wasn't even remotely old enough to remember them. Now i've truly experienced them but luckily they'll be gone in a few weeks and our yard won't be so tore up because of them.

Not really, we don't have trees so we only get an odd dozen or so. It's mostly grassland here... and water because island.

Then you're most lucky because there's a ton of them here and they're loud.

The nighttime bugs especially help me fall asleep. Katydids and tree crickets.

When I really need it I have a white noise app on my phone. I plug my phone in at night so it's not killing my battery to run one.
