Steve didn't push conversation on her, instead just relaxing. Up until he heard Clint and Tony going at each other. Then he sighed and hauled himself to his feet.

"I should go get them before they turn into cats or something."

That made Tessa blink.

"Turn into cats?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "This place just got a whole lot more interesting."

"You never know what might happen around here," Steve said with a grin. "Stick around long enough and you'll see what I mean."

"With three people around here at least part Fae, there's bound to be fireworks," Tessa said. She grinned a bit in return. "Mind if I tag along?"

"Sure." Steve shrugged and made his way inside, going to go see what the two were going on about this time.

Tessa grinned and followed. This would definitely be interesting to see.

Steve looked between the two and sighed when he spotted an arrow sticking out of the wall, a half-deployed net hanging from it.

"What happened?" he asked, pinning them both with his Captain Look.

"Nothing," Clint replied quickly, grinning brightly. "Just testing something. It failed, but not spectacularly."

"I could hear you two outside," Steve said with a disapproving look. "What was that all about?" He crossed his arms over his chest.

"Really, it's nothing," Clint said. "Just testing some new toys."

"Destroying them, more like," Tony grumbled from over by the failed net arrow. He poked at it, trying to figure out what didn't work.

Steve rolled his eyes. Honestly, children. "Uh huh. Clint, did Tony say you could test that? Or did you sneak into the lab, take it, and test it anyway?"

"Don't answer that," Clint said as Tony opened his mouth. Tony snorted a bit.

Which was all the answer Steve needed. He sighed.

"Honestly, you two..." He shook his head. "Clint, outside. No more testing things in the house. Next time I'll make you do the repairs."

"Surprised you didn't make him do it this time," Tony said as he gathered the bits of the failed arrow. "And now I have to go work on this, so you two have fun."

Clint just rolled his eyes and left before Steve really did make him fix everything.

Steve made sure they really did go opposite directions before he snorted.

"And this is what I live with. All the time."

Tessa snickered.

"Well, you should expect that from what's-his-face, he's Fae. But that was still great," she said.

"Clint does get into mischief all the time, but that doesn't mean it's easier to deal with," Steve pointed out.

"Didn't say it did," Tessa countered, raising an eyebrow. "Just that you should expect it. He's Fae, that's what they do." She shrugged a bit. "Anna gets herself into things, sometimes, and I have to drag her back out again. Just something I got used to."

Steve nodded. "I figured. Every Fae I've known gets into some kind of trouble or another."

"Some more than others, granted," Tessa said, nodding. "I'm surprised you don't pop antacids like tictacs, with two of them hanging around here."

"Fortunately Clint is the primary trouble maker, and Natasha deals with him about half the time. The other half I yell at him." Steve grinned a bit. "Besides, antacids don't do much for me."

"Poor thing," Tessa said, grinning just slightly. "At least they're self-contained, for the most part, right?"

"For the most part," Steve agreed. "Except for a few times, they mostly keep all pranks in-house." Small favors, and all that.

Tessa grinned.

"And now there's a third one in the mix," she said. "You poor thing." Though she would try to keep an eye on Anna, as a courtesy.

"The third one isn't my problem unless she gets into it with one of the team," Steve said with a snort.
