Hi Imagination, thought of you today. I recalled discussing pros and cons of internet versus real life interactions with you.

I met someone in real life about two months ago, and we have since been conversing mostly online and over the phone. We have also hung out in person three times so far, since we first met.

Of course, this is a person I met in real life and with whom I can hang out in real life on a semi-regular basis. So, I guess it's not exactly the same as having met a person over the internet and then transitioned to in-person interaction.

Nevertheless, I found the majority hanging out via internet and phone to be surprisingly insightful! And we are now pretty good friends for the time being.

Can ou help it at all Amane?

Yes, I did not intend to make it sound like people on the internet are not humans...if that is what you gleaned from my post? I have just found it easier to bond with people in real life. However, my friendship with this specific person had been mostly "long distance" for the past two months until recently. What an interesting development!

I don't know how one would prevent the occasional few seconds of ear-ringing we all get now and then.

I was able to bond with my "Sister" who lives half way around the world without seeing her in person until 4 years ago, and we were only in person for just under 3 weeks. It just depends on who the person is.

But a lot of people downplay the impact that people can have on others via the internet. And I think that's wrong- Online or offline, people are people. c:

Ah okay ^_^ yes I was just making sure lol

I am understand that concept a lot more recently. I pinged Imagination because we had discussed real life versus online relationships before, and I thought my "long distance friendship" kind of brought a new perspective, for me, on the idea.

But nevertheless, I am glad my long distance friend also prefers real life interaction (as opposed to only online or phone). They are planning to visit me again this week if possible, which is great because I do prefer to hang out with them in person. We live pretty close to each other, but have our own responsibilities and live in different places.
