I think that you could say that about pretty much ANY government, since all suck to at least SOME degree.

But then the same could be said about the opposite.
There are some good things about them to.

Like because of our president I can now have health care when before I either couldn't afford it or my county wasn't willing to help me out.

I'm ok with Obama. I kind of have to be. My husband loves him. He even has an Obama 2008 presidential campaign poster on the living room wall...

My parents don't really agree on politics, yet they still find ways to get along, so it is possible. :)
It's not really awkward, at least I don't remember it being awkward when I was living with them years back.

Nephila: Yes, it would have been very awkward. His dad opposes him, though. So, if he knows his dad is coming over, he takes the poster down and hides it.

My mom has never been into politics. My father-in-law is hardcore Republican. My mother-in-law is Korean, so she really doesn't have much of an opinion on American politics. My siblings are half and half Democrat and Republican, but my siblings who are opposed to Obama respect my home enough to not say anything about it.

I don't really care about politics. I think it's mostly the same from one president to the next. There will always be things that you like and dislike. I do like Bush, and my husband thinks he was an idiot, so that can be awkward at times when discussing him.

I'm... p. apathetic about politics. Its not a healthy way to be, but the bread and circuses quote applies to me most of all.

There's just way too much to remember for who presents what and which party they belong to and and what each parrty will bring to the table and what will and won't fuck up our country. I should get to know if better for when I vote but that would take hours of research and... Nah.
I don't get involved in anything political unless it's just complaining about something that kinda effects me, and that's it.
