The next day after Bruce's heart to heart talk with his son Lori was still in his bed with Ace WS her constent companion.

Joker made his way to the coffee shop and waited for Gemini.

Bruce, who had slept in a chair in his room, woke up with a pain in his neck. He stood up and stretched, then looked at Lori, who was cuddled with Ace. He smiled.

Gemini, after a night of alternating nightmares and pacing, made her way to the coffee shop. Even though she was dressed and her hair was brushed, she still looked horrible.

Lori woke "Out of bed already love?" she smiled at him then grimaced and swallowed one of the pain pills the hospital had prescribed to her. "I thought for sure you would want to cuddle with me." she pouted a little.

"Hey." Damien greeted her holding the chair for her. "I ordered you a muffin and hot chocolate."

Bruce smiled and shook his head. "I did want to, but by the time I got back, Ace had taken up most of the bed." He said.

Gemini smiled tiredly as she sat down. "Thanks." She said, before dropping her forehead to the table. "Ugh."

Lori laughed "You could have moved him." she tugged him down shooing Ace to there feet. She snuggled against him and ran a hand threw his hair.

''You alright hun?" Joker asked taking a hold of her hand worried

Bruce shrugged. "Honestly, I was a little intimidated. I didn't want to hurt you in my sleep, and sleeping next toy ou is just so tempting..."

Gemini lifted her head. "Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Just...nightmares. It happens every once in a while. I never know when or what causes them, but usually I spend about a week without sleep, and then they go away. I'll be fine, though, long as I spend my nights out and about." She said. That was the reason she had first ever started stealing, long ago.

"Well you could dream about me instead." Joker teased leaning forward and kissed her deeply before settling back into his chair with a smirk.

"I may be tempting but your a soft teddy that I like sleeping next to and will do the most pain I can to you if you try anything." Lori smiled brightly at him.

Gemini managed a real smile. "That would certainly be better." She said.

Bruce was silent for a moment, then sighed. "I'm going to take that as comforting, instead of terrifying." He told her.

"I'm glad I could help." Joker chuckled and took a sip of his cocoa sighing happily.

Lori chuckled and settled her head on his chest blushing when her stomach complained.

"Me too." Gemini replied, peeling the wrapper off of her muffin. "So, I don't suppose you'll be spending the night reading?" She asked slyly.

"Either Ace is angry, or you're hungry." Bruce teased. "Should I go and get you some breakfast?"

Lori laughed a little and poked his stomach. "Of you can stand to be away from me I would love to have breakfast in bed with you." she smiled.

"I might be doing that give bat a reason to worry what I'm up to." Joker chuckled to caring who heard him.

"I'm sure that can be arranged." Bruce said.

Gemini rolled her eyes. "Well I'm sure that'll be fun. Personally, I'll be out...shopping."

"Then go arrange it at once...take Ace out and feed him while your at it he's to skinny." Lori scratched the dogs leg. "No offense sweet one."

Joker chuckled "don't get caught and be careful of Talia in jail or not she has a long reach."

Bruce rolled his eyes and got up. "He's a Great Dane/Doberman mix. He's supposed to be skinny." He said, snapping his fingers. Ace jumped up and followed him. "We'll be back in a bit."

"I'm getting really tired of that bitch interfering in everyone's lives." Gemini said, almost breaking the table with her grip. "I swear, Damien's mother or not, next time I see her I'll..." She trailed off, clearly thinking of violent things to do to Talia.

"You can think of all the things you want Talia doesn't fight fair...or your friend would have put her in her place a long time ago." Joker shook his head. "You'll need to sink to her level to win.

Lori watched him go before settling deep into the covers with a happy sigh.

"Then maybe I will." Gemini said darkly. Though she had never been one to resort to cheap tricks, she wasn't above fighting dirty, and she certainly wasn't above killing- she had proved that with Harley.

Bruce took Ace out and got him fed, then took the tray of food that was already prepared and headed upstairs with it. "Breakfast is ready." He said as he entered the room. "I swear, Alfred is psychic. He knows exactly what I need before I even ask. This was just sitting there, ready for us."

"He just knows you well enough by know." Lori chuckled. "He has been with you since you we're wearing diapers...he still helps you change." She teased smirking.

"If you do get her some place none of her friends can't help. I'll help if you want I'll admit I'm not as strong as you." Joker squeezed her hand.

Bruce pouted and shook his head. "Only when I can't..." He said, half joking.

Gemini looked up and smiled, almost seeming like a different person. "I can use all the help I can get. As much as I don't want to hurt Damien...Talia has to die. She's too much trouble, and I won't allow her to hurt Lori again. I can't go letting her boss you around, either."

"True that's my job to boss my self around." Joker chuckled and kissed her wrist.

Lori chuckled and took the tray digging in using her free hand to pull him down offering him a fork full of food.

Gemini chuckled and shook her head. "You know, most people mean that figuratively, but somehow I'm sure that you actually do that."

Bruce landed with an "oof" sound, and got his bearings just as the forkful of food was offered. Shrugging, he took it. "Thank you."

"I do talk to myself a lot." Joker chuckled and sipped his cocoa with a happy smile. "I think I care for you."

Lori feed him smiling happily then handed him the fork. "AH!" she opened her mouth.

Gemini blinked slightly, surprised, then blushed. "You...do? Wait. Don't mess with me. Not about this...I couldn't handle it." She said, mentally holding her breath and waiting for him to say "just kidding" or something.

Bruce took the fork and happily fed Lori. "You know, I always hated watching couples do this kind of thing. I guess I can't complain anymore." He said with a chuckle.

"well don't feed me then." Lori snapped snatching the fork back pouting at him as she shoveled food into her mouth.

"I don't think I'm kidding." Joker sighed a little. "Do you wish I was kidding?"

Bruce blinked. "Lori...I was kidding. I like feeding you." He said, wondering just how she had taken that so badly.

"No." Gemini said, barely able to think straight. "No, I don't want you to be kidding. Because I...love you. I love you. I'm sure of it."

Joker leaned across the table and kissed her ruffly.

"I thought you hated it when couple's feed each other." Lori pouted at him handing back the fork. "I always thought it was cute."
