"But she's telling the truth Bruce." Lori took a long look at Joker who smirked at her. "Oh no I want to kill you pity he had to get in the way." he smirked a little then tossed the gun aside. "That's what you want to hear right Brucey but this time I was helping them only to protect Gemini of course but." he shrugged. "you still want to fight me drop your belt and all your toys and fight me with your fists."

Clenching his fists, Batman did the unexpected: he took off his belt. He removed the mask, and the gloves, and tossed all of them aside. He only left the rest for the purpose of modesty. Now he was just Bruce...and he was ready to fight. "Fine, then."

Trying to get the net off, Gemini blinked rapidly. "Are you stupid?!" She shouted at Joker. "He's twice your size and a freaking ninja! You'll get killed!"

"Such is life." Joker laughed. "Since I spoiled the big night you get first punch." He waited one foot sliding back.

"Bruce I know you want to do this but can't it wait until we're on the ground?" Lori appealed to his better senses.

"This is crazy, even for you. It's like you've got a death wish! You'd better not die, dammit!"

Bruce shook his head. "No. This ends now." He said, before running forward and taking that first punch, aiming right for the face.

Joker let him hit him then the fight started. He was better then most people thought having fought Bruce forever gave him even more insight to the man. He almost laughed at Lori's surprised look as he held his own. He even managed to back Bruce into a corner blinking aw a hard punch made him see stars neither of them saw Harley till she pushed Bruce off the roof to everyone's surprise including the Joker he caught hold of Bruce's hand keeping him from falling. "Idiot woman I told you to stay away." He grimaced. "Man your heavy." He felt the edge of the rood starting to give. "Oh boy."

Bruce was the only one not surprised that the Joker was able to fight back. They knew each other too well by that point. He was so focused on the fight that he never saw Harley. One minute he was fighting, and the next he was falling- and then he stopped. Looking up, he saw Joker holding him up, and was shocked, to say the least. Especially when the roof started to give. "What are you doing? Just let go!" He said, seeing no reason for both of them to plummet to their deaths.

Finally getting the net off, Gemini went straight for Harley. "You bitch! I never should have brought you back!" She yelled, punching the woman. "This was none of your business! You shouldn't have interfered, but you did and now look! You've doomed both of them you dumb whore! You'd better find a way to fix this or I swear I'll kill you all over again!"

"Well if I let go Lori will kill me anyways." Joker grunted clinging harder to the edge. "I'll think of a way out of it like I usual." he could see a way out of this one. Lori hurried over Bruce's grappling gun in hand she leaned over the edge passing it just in time for the edge to give one. Joker dropped Bruce and pulled Lori away before they went over as well. "BRUCE!" Lori screeched struggling against Joker.

Bruce let out a surprised cry as the roof gave way, and he fell. The last thing he saw was Lori being pulled away from the crumbling rooftop, and he gave a moment to be amazed at exactly who was pulling her away before turning his attention to the problem at hand. He didn't see anything to grab onto, and was about to give up when his cape, which he had thankfully left on, got caught on a rusty pipe about halfway down. The height was still dizzying and would probably kill him if he fell, and his cape was definitely starting to rip, but at least he had a moment to think. At the bottom was an alleyway, and there was an old car parked- or abandoned- there. It would hurt, but landing on the roof of it may not kill him. The problem? It was across the alleyway. The only was to ensure he fell on it was to swing...so, taking a huge chance, he started to swing his body, using his cape. It ripped almost instantly, sending him careening forward and down. He landed hard on the old car, crashing straight through the roof and landing on his back, yelling out in pain as something broke. He was definitely bleeding somewhere.

Abandoning the pursuit of beating Harley, Gemini ran forward to help pull Lori away from the edge. "Lori, stop! You can't just jump after him, you'll-" She stopped. "Did you hear that? A crash, and a yell...he's alive! We need to get down there, fast!"

Lori threw Joker off and raced down the fire escape nearly tripping several times tears running down her cheeks. "Oh please be ok." she whispered. She reached the last stair and paused staring at the car "BRUCE!" she hurried forward to make sure he was alive not sure how to get at him.

Joker blinked after her then shook his head. "Honestly." he sighed and got to his feet with out a word to Gemini he started towards the fire escape planning to make his escape before the cops showed up.

Before he could take more than two steps, he was stopped by Gemini, who almost knocked him over by tackling him. "You stupid, stupid man! You could've been killed! What kind of ridiculous, idiotic, insane thoughts were running through your head? Tackling an armed cop and fist fighting Bruce freaking Wayne and how exactly would you have survived a fall from this height?!" Thankfully it was raining, so there was no way to tell that she was crying.

Bruce heard Lori's voice from far away, and tried hard to figure out where she was. "Lori..." He managed to groan. It hurt to talk. "Call...Gordon...might need air-lift...broke something..." That's when he started coughing, which not only hurt, but produced blood.

"I would have thought of something." Joker blinked surprised grunting when he hit the roof. "I said this was the last thing I would do to Bruce right? Besides...that cop would have hurt you." he mumbled the last part looking away from her. "He's wanted to beat me up again for a while so I thought I would let him." he shrugged then slowly hugged her back.

Lori crying softly called Gordan who sent a ambulance arriving himself shortly after throwing his coat over Lori who rubbed her cheeks watching them work Bruce from the car carefully making sure not to hurt him more then he was. They slowly got him on the board and carried him to the ambulance speeding away. Lori waited for Gemini feeling lost for the first time in a long time.

Gemini sniffled. "Don't do that again. You scared the hell out of me." She said, looking up at him. "I seriously was ready to jump after you, you jerk." There was no heat behind the word jerk, though. Slowly, she got up off of him. "I have to go check on Lori. I promised to keep her safe. But...I'll come back to see you in a little while. If you can keep yourself safe until then."

Joker kissed her suddenly then with a grin slipped away into the night throwing her one last look before he truly vanished.

Lori saw Gemini and caught her in a bone crushing hug sobbing into her shoulder. Ivy appeared panting a little a bruise on her forehead frowning a little when she saw the mess of a car and Lori's sobbing form. "Dare I ask?"

Dazed, Gemini made her way down the fire escape, only to be crushed by Lori. She surveyed the situation and figured out what happened just as Ivy appeared. Attempting to breathe, She smiled weakly at Ivy. "Well, it's a hell of a story..." She said, explaining everything that had happened since they had split up. "And now I'm guessing Bruce is at the hospital being worked on." She finished, slowly turning blue from lack of oxygen.

Ivy grabbed Lori and squeezed her making her drop Gemini and hug Ivy instead. "We should get to the hospital." Lori hiccuped watching Ivy hail a cab. "We'll take the cab thanks." She pulled the guy from the front seat making Lori look nervous but all the cops were up on the roof examining the crime scene. Ivy got in front while Lori chose the back seat.

Gemini recovered quickly and hopped into the cab, apologizing to the driver before slamming the door. "Floor it before the cops realize what just happened." She said.

Ivy floored it laughing softly. "Let's pick up Lena." Lori said in a flat sort of voice. Ivy nodded and stopped at Helena's place eventually she appeared dressed as Huntress having gone out the moment her father had been taken to the police station. She slipped into her apartment and changed before slidding into the car. Ivy drove off again arriving at the hospital Lori and Lena hurried inside but were forced to wait. Lori was trading a blank piece of paper when the other girls entered and Helena was pacing.

Gemini went straight to Helena, knowing Lori probably wasn't going to talk much in that state of mind. "Lena, what's going on? Have they told you anything yet?" She asked.

"Not yet we only just got here." Lena glanced at her then kept pacing worried. A doctor appeared who blinked as Lena turned on him. "He's stable, sleeping. As soon as he wakes you can see him." he smiled at them then backed away from Lena.

Gemini sighed in relief. "Stable. Okay, we can breathe again." She said, leaning against a wall. It was then that she realized she was still wearing her bride's maid's dress, that it was soaking wet and filthy, and that her shoes were gone. "Ugh."

"You should go change." Ivy frowned watching Lori out of the corner of her eye. She was just staring after the doctor eyes not really focused.

"I'd have to go home for that. I'm not leaving until they let us see him." Gemini said, also keeping an eye on Lori. "Ivy...why was that police officer trying to kill her? And was it just him, or were there others?" She asked in a whisper.

"No idea way. Just the one as far as I know." Ivy grimaced a little. After about an hour the doctor appeared. "He's starting to come to fam." the word hadn't even left his mouth when Lori raced into Bruce's room catching hold of his hand. "ily." the doctor blinked a little. Lena followed her mother a little more slowly taking her fathers other hand.

Gemini smiled a little. "She's his wife, as of today. She was really worried." She explained to the poor confused doctor.

In the room, Bruce was just figuring out where he was when suddenly Lori and Helena were there. He smiled. "I must be in heaven, with these two angels to greet me." He said. "Are you two okay?"

Lori burst into tears again and crushed his neck "I was so worried. Oh Bruce I'm so glad your alright. So glad the baby won't grow up without you. Never do that to me again or I'll kill you myself." She didn't seem to realize what she had said. Lena was blinking at her as she pried her arms loose so he father could breath froze in the act.

Ivy chuckled as the doctor nodded and headed off. "Poor thing." she smirked.
