April nodded. "That was my argument. But I guess that could be part of the promise...maybe we should write this down so we don't forget." She suggested.

"I think we could manage. I mean, Batman had that hot and cold relationship with Cat Woman, so it's obviously possible to be friends and enemies at the same time." Enoch said.

"And they're not the only ones. Our mom is a good guy and our dad's a villain, and our mom is best friends with most of the villain women in the city." Cal added.

Martha smirked at the mention of her mother. "Alright I'm in." Artemis shrugged "I'm in if only for the chance to hangout with people."

"Cool! Okay, let's start." California pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil and wrote down all the things they had talked about. "These will be our club rules. We can add to them later if we want. Now we just need something to put our figerprints on."

April reached into her backpack and took out a small wall scroll with the yin yang symbol on it. "Our mom gave this to me for our birthday. It seems appropriate." She said.

"Okay. Here, I've got this..." Enoch pulled a sewing needle from his sleeve. "My dad likes me to keep this in case I need to pick a lock or something." He explained, handing it to Cal.

"That works." Cal said. He quickly pricked his thumb and let a drop of blood well up before pressing it to the scroll, leaving a near-perfect thumb print. He then stuck his thumb in his mouth to suck off the remaining blood while he watched April repeat his actions, and then Enoch.

Artemis took the needle next and then helped Martha who had her eyes closed. "Don't like blood huh?" Artemis asked patting her shoulder. "It's needles I don't like." Martha sighed "Mom says it's normal...I hope so." "It is I've meet other people who are afraid of needles." Artemis smiled at her as Martha blushed softly.

"That's true. Our mom was a nurse once and she says lots of people are scared of needles." April said.

"I think April and I are the strange ones. But that's expected, I guess."

"Okay, it's time for some answers. Who are your parents, that liking sharp things is normal for you?" Enoch asked impatiently.

"Well our mom is kind of retired, but before we were born she was a master thief. She called herself Kitsune." April said proudly. "Of course, before that she was a nurse at Arkham, where she met our dad."

"And our dad, as you've probably figured out, is the Joker." Cal added, sounding just a little proud. "But remember, you're not allowed to tell anyone that. Our parents want to give us a chance to be normal kids, and that won't ever happen if people know who our dad is."

"I figured about your dad. But your mom was Kitsune? That's pretty cool. I thought for sure you'd say you mom was Harley Quinn."

"Ugh, don't ever mention her. I said our mom is friends with almost every female villain. The only one she hates is her rival...who has tried to kidnap us before." Cal shuddered.

"I thought she was cool. But don't tell mom that."

"We all know my mom is Poison Ivy of course...not to sure who my dad is." Artemis smirked.

"My parent's are Catwoman and Batman." Martha grinned. "Total opposites but totally in love."

"Everyone knows that. I hope I can be that happy someday." Cal said, glancing at Martha.

"Blech! I don't ever want to be all mushy with a guy." April said.

"I hear ya. No offense, but girls are supposed to have cooties." Enoch agreed.

Artemis scowled then smirked. "I'll give you cooties." She chuckled darkly.

Martha oblivious to Cals look like usual just shook her head at Artemis. "Please don't use those things."

Enoch shuddered, not doubting for a moment that Artemis would cause him harm in some way.

"Relax, he just meant boys our age aren't s'posed to like girls. Cal is just weird, is all." April said.

Cal scowled. "I'm not weird, I'm mature. That's what mom says, anyway..."

"I believe you aren't weird." Martha smiled at her friend.

Cal blushed a little and smiled. "Thanks." He said.

Enoch snickered. "Is there something going on between- ow!" He started to ask, before April stepped on his foot, hard.

"Don't. Say. Anything." April hissed into Enoch's ear. "I'll explain later."

Martha blinked and looked between them. "Anything going on between what?" She frowned eyes boring into them.

Caught between Martha's accusing gaze and April's warning glare, Enoch had to come up with something quick. "Something going on between April and Cal. It seems like they have some rivalry when it comes to their parents." He said smoothly. It was actually something he had wondered, so it wasn't a complete lie.

Cal scowled. "What, like you think we fight about our parents? I don't think so. I think our parents treat us equally." He said.

April didn't have to pretend to be annoyed at Enoch. "Cal and I argue sometimes, but that happens with siblings. We're closer than most, anyway. Although I will say that our mother seems to prefer Cal."

"That's not true!" Cal protested. "Mom loves us both equally. You just don't notice because you spend a lot of time by yourself."

"No arguing you two." Martha sighed rolling her eyes a little. "Be glad you have a sibling to agree with all Damien does is ruffle my hair."

April sighed. "I think it's sweet when he does that. I wish I had a big brother who treated me like that."

"If it helps, I'm older by a couple minutes and I can start ruffling your hair if you want." Cal offered.

Enoch chuckled. "That might just be creepy, though. I'll do it instead." He said, reaching over to ruffle April's hair. She giggled and swatted him away playfully.

Martha huffed "I wish I had a brother my age but mom says she strangled the stork when she saw him last."

Enoch's eyes widened slightly. "The stork? Oh, right, the stork." He said, as if just remembering. His father had told him already where babies came from, but he knew he couldn't tell that to the others.

Cal gasped. "She strangled him? But how will people get their babies now?" He asked in dismay.

"Obviously there must be more than one stork, right? Not that auntie Lori would make sure first..." April said.

"It's true I mom wouldn't think to check." Martha chuckled then shrugged. "All we can do is hope that there's more then one stork." she held Cal's hand out of habit.

Cal nodded. "We'll just have to wait until we see a baby. If we see one, then that means there's more than one stork." He said.

"I wonder if storks deliver animal babies, too. And who brings stork babies?" April asked.

"Maybe the storks all take turns delivering babies for each other." Enoch said, playing along.

"That sounds logical." Martha nodded. "I wonder if the get paid good."

"I bet they get paid with lots of...whatever storks eat." April said confidently.

"Fish, I think. They eat fish. Oh, but then doesn't that make it hard to deliver fish babies?" California asked.

Enoch decided to change the subject then. "Hey Artemis, how do you think your mom will pick you up?" He asked.

"Ooh, yeah, I wanna meet her!" April said.

Artemis grimaced and nodded to a ivy green car which was parked at the curb. Pamely climbed out and waved at them. "Yes she is picking me up." She sighed then blinked as a black car with a license plate that said 9lives.

"There would be mom with out dad for a change." Martha grinned as the adults hugged.

April giggled. "Yup, that's auntie Lori." She said. "Artemis, please introduce me to your mom!"

"And there's our mom." Cal said, gesturing to a much less obvious car. It was an old beater and didn't have custom plates, but it was a nice blue color.

"I have to walk home. It's not far." Enoch said.

"You could ride with one of us." Martha suggested as the moms came over.

"All ready to go home Martha?" Lori smiled at her. Pamela joined her "Who's the boy?" Artemis shrugged "mom meet Enoch. Enoch, everyone meet my mom Pamela Isley." "A pleasure." Pamela chuckled.

April came over, clearly starstruck. "Hi, I'm April and I'm a huge fan!" She said happily. "Can you teach me to water a plant without drowning it?"

Gemini approached at that moment. "Oh, Pam, I see you've met my daughter. She's been wanting to meet you for a while." She said.

Cal cleared his throat. "And this is our mom. Mom, this is Artemis and that's Enoch." He said.

Enoch raised a hand in greeting. "Nice to meet you all. But I really should get walking or I'll be late."

Gemini raised an eyebrow. "Enoch, huh? And you have to walk home? Let me guess, you have to solve riddles to get into your house, right?" She guessed, getting an embarrassed nod from the boy.
