"Go for it," Dani said, slipping off her shoes and starting to strip out of her clothes even as she walked down the hall to her room.

"I don't need to be able to smell lies to know you're not fine, Cyrano," Cal retorted.

"I didn't say I'm fine," Nik pointed out. "But you're not going after her."

Cal just made a face and grumbled under his breath.

Nk gave him a look and got up. "I'm going to take a shower. Clean up." He tossed a shirt at Cal's head with unerring accuracy as he headed back to the bathroom.

Cal let the shirt hit him in the face and he rolled his eyes. Niko knew by now that telling him to clean was pointless. And he would shower after Nik did, so he could take his time in the hot water.

The days settled into a routine, and twice a week Maggie met up with Ish outside of work to do some extra things. Robin got into the habit of calling Dani over when those two were out bonding so he'd have someone to pout with.

Dani noticed how bored Robin got when he pretended to pout, so she'd asked him to teach her how to pick locks, throwing a pretty 'please' face on the end of the request. Hey, it would keep them both busy for a while, at least.

Robin ended up teaching her how to pick locks and do so quietly and efficiently. He also gave her a few pointers in some other areas, just because he could and she was a quick study.

The lessons were fun, Dani had to admit. She was learning a lot more than she thought she would, and it was all rather interesting. When he tried to lecture her on fashion and style, though, she smirked a bit.

"Trust me when I say I know what looks good on me," she said. "I could probably set off half the bar if I really felt like it, just with what I have in my closet right now."

Robin rolled his eyes. "That's not hard to do," he pointed out. "Besides, you don't just need to set people off. There are other settings too."

"I know," Dani said. "I learned how to tone it down. I can even be full-on professional, if I need to, that's happened before."

"Oh I bet that's fun," Robin said with a grin. "Being able to be professional is good." He paused. "Even if it is useless most of the time."

Dani made a bit of a face. "I was dressed modestly and everything. It was fine, for the first hour. Then people still started to leer."

Robin nodded. "Doesn't take long for things to kick in again unless you can really tamp everything down," he said. "Speaking from experience."

"I hate it sometimes," Dani admitted. "I got to the point of breaking bones whenever someone tries anything I don't like."

Robin nodded. "Good. You take any self-defense courses?" Because yes, those were helpful, and he was more than happy to give her a few pointers on that, too, if she wanted.

"No," Dani admitted. "No formal courses, at least. I picked things up here and there in my normal life, but that's about it." She glanced at him. "Why?"

Robin looked at her for a few moments. "Want a few pointers? Nothing too hard, but a few things to make your life a little easier."

Dani raised an eyebrow.

"What's in it for you?" she asked, equal parts curious and skeptical. He was a puck, after all, and pucks never really did anything for free.

"Well, your sister has stolen my peri," Robin said with a shrug. "So until he comes back, I'm bored, and you're fun."

"You're bored enough to try to teach me to fight?" Dani asked, grinning a little. "You must be extremely bored, then."

"My two normal sources of entertainment are unavailable, and I bore easily. It's my only potential flaw, and even that isn't really a flaw." Robin grinned at her.

"You know, not that we're counting pride or lust or anything," Dani teased back. Then she lapsed into silence for a moment. "Okay, so I have a question, I don't know if you'd know the answer, but either way, how easy is it to offend those two guys, the brothers?"

"Normally, they're difficult to offend," Robin said with a shrug. "But recently..." He sighed. "Something happened, to the older one. He lost someone. So now they're more touchy than normal."

"That would explain it," Dani murmured. "Alright, at least it makes more sense now."
