"Don't take it personally," Robin said with a shrug, and then what she said caught up to him. "Wait, what? What makes more sense? What happened?"

"I guess it was nothing," Dani replied. "I was chatting with the older one, a while ago, and I must have said something wrong, and he's avoided me since." She gave a half-hearted shrug. "Nothing I can do about it, I suppose."

Robin nodded. "Give him some time," he said. "Niko is stubborn and not really recovering right now."

Dani gave another half-hearted shrug.

"Nothing I can do, I guess," she said. "Pity, though... I wouldn't have minded getting to know him a bit."

Robin snorted quietly. "Stick around, you may get a chance," he said. "Now, do we want to start on your lessons, or go bother Ish and Maggie?"

"Actually," Dani said, checking her phone for the time, "it's almost time for me to go get ready for work." She glanced at him. "I mean, you're welcome to tag along when I go to work, if you're bored, but I can't promise you'll have fun."

Robin shrugged after a moment.

"I might," he said. "We'll see. I might go make sure you don't have to go hunting for a new roommate." He grinned.

Dani snorted.

"No kidding," she said. "Though if I'm lucky, she'll be mad enough to try to bake things again." She grinned. "I always benefit from that."

Robin snorted. "She bakes, too? How cute." He paused. "Just don't tell her I said that." He winked at Dani.

Dani snorted.

"She'd try to hurt you if she heard it," she said, grinning. "Though I'm sure, if you let her use your kitchen..."

Robin shrugged. "Don't know her well enough yet for that," he said with a bit of a grin.

"Then maybe you can talk your partner into offering," Dani said, not missing a beat. "He probably does."

"He could, but it's still my kitchen," Robin said with a pout. "I'll give her free reign after I've spent a bit of time with her where she isn't threatening my existence."

Dani snickered.

"That might take a while," she said. "Regardless, I need to head to work. Going to tag along?"

"Sure, why not." Robin grinned and motioned for her to lead the way.

Dani grinned and did so. She stopped by the place she and Maggie were renting, to change clothes quickly, and came back out in a trendy dress and cowboy boots.

"I hope you don't mind, I'm playing a country bar tonight," she commented to Robin.

Robin shrugged. "Doesn't matter to me," he said. "I am certainly capable of entertaining myself wherever I end up."

"I don't doubt that for a moment," Dani said. She shrugged a little. "I just know country's not the right thing for a lot of people."

Robin chuckled. "I'm old enough to have heard many different forms of music on every instrument known to human and a few never heard of." He grinned at her. "Country doesn't bother me."

"Show-off," Dani said with a wry grin. "Kinda glad you're not the 'get off my lawn' old man, though, gotta say."

"Nah, that's not fun." Robin grinned. "I like people, generally speaking, after all." Even if humans weren't worth getting attached to, they were fun to watch and swindle out of things.

"I bet," Dani said. She grinned. "Well, the place is usually pretty full on live music nights, so there's that, at least."

Robin grinned a bit. "Sounds like fun." He motioned for her to lead the way with a flourish.

Dani grinned and started towards her job for the night. She just hoped nobody requested anything horribly sad, because she just knew it would turn out badly if they did.

Robin followed her, content to spend the evening sitting and flirting.

Maggie, on the other hand, was almost ready for a break, although she wasn't willing to admit it yet. Ish was a hard teacher.
