Dani snickered.

"It's too bad," she teased. "We could have done some amazing things. Awe-inspiring, even."

"If Ish ever dumps me, you'll be the first one I call, then," Robin said with a grin.

"Sounds like a plan," Dani replied, grinning. "Not that I hope you get dumped, you understand, but a backup plan never hurts. Even if it's just a hookup."

"Oh backup plans are good," Robin agreed. "And there is nothing wrong at all with spending a few nights with one person and then spreading the love."

"Nothing wrong with that at all," Dani agreed. She'd had her share of hookups in the past. She stretched a bit and looked over when the peri and nephilim came out of the office. "And there are no weapons out or feathers flying, so all must be well for now."

"Well enough," Robin agreed, also looking over. "Although neither of them actually look happy, but I wasn't expecting them to, not yet."

"But no bloodshed, that's a plus," Dani said. "Now I just take Maggie out for some shopping and then get her back to the hotel and into the hot tub for a while..." Though she knew they would have to downgrade to a motel if they were going to stay in the city for longer than a few more days. The hotel would get expensive quickly.

Robin grinned. "Is she fond of the hot tub in particular?" he asked. Partially because he was curious and partially because he was trying to be nice and help Ish out a little bit.

"When she's stressed, yeah," Dani replied. "And she has been, lately, so I've made sure every hotel we've stayed at has one."

"And then you find a pile of sodden feathers in the trash?" Robin asked with a grin, because he knew how that went. Ish got the same way; stress always equaled molting.

"Sometimes," Dani said, snickering a bit. "She doesn't shed too badly, most of the time."

"So she's better off than most peri that way," Robin said with a grin. "They get stressed or anything, feathers start falling. Although some shed more than others."

"Oh don't get me wrong, she sheds," Dani said, grinning. "Enough that I'm collecting down for a pillow. But she doesn't shed the big feathers quite as often."

"No, there's something wrong when the big feathers start coming off," Robin said casually. "More than two or three at a time, anyway. They do all come off eventually, but if you find more than two or three feathers that are more than, oh, two or three inches long, something's wrong."

"Unless they molt," Dani pointed out, grinning wickedly. "Then they look like fluffy chicken wings for a day or so until the feathers all fill back in."

Robin snickered. "Molting is hysterical," he agreed. "Doesn't happen too often though. How often does she molt?"

"I've only ever seen it once," Dani replied. "Doesn't mean there aren't others I missed, but I haven't seen any but the one time."

"In how long? A few years?" Robin guessed, glancing between her and Maggie to try and gauge how long they'd been close.

"Thereabouts," Dani said vaguely. Nope, she wasn't going to give up that much information, not yet.

Robin nodded. "Not surprised, most don't actually molt too often. But it is priceless when it does happen."

"It really is," Dani replied, grinning. "Come on. Fluffy chicken wings."

"Big fluffy chicken wings," Robin agreed. "They make quite the sight."

"They do," Dani said, grinning. She stretched a bit. "I'll have to see about looking around for some work, if we're going to be here a while. Break out my guitar again and see what I can find."

"There are a few places around that'll take soloists, a few more that will take you on a nightly basis depending on who needs what," Robin said without missing a beat. "Depends what you're trying to sell, exactly."

Dani shrugged.

"Just a bit of vocal talent," she said. "Some guitar skill." She grinned. "I'm a siren. Gotta make ends meet somehow, may as well do what I'm good at."
