Andraus: That pine thing helped. Here's my thingy, although i think it may be a bit cliche
"It is a tradition among the people to send all their children below the age of 13 and in possession of certain characteristics and talents, if they so wished, to apprentice among the esteemed members of the Order of the Magi. At the age of 12, SZP had been determined to be in the possession of the necessary qualities and would, thus, have to leave behind her home and family in order to pursue her talents. While this was hard difficult path to take, the decision itself was not difficult in the least. SZP desired greatly to learn all that she could, to become a great Magus and to eventually improve the standard of living for her mother and father.
She spent many years among the Magi and learnt many things. Finally, at the culmination of 6 years of study, she earned her staff and was no longer considered an apprentice. Though she still had much to learn –Magi’s life was one of continuous betterment- she now possessed enough control to explore the wide world of magic without worry of injury or anything similar.
One day SZP decided to take a while to meditate in the pine forest a little while away from her dwelling in the Order. She had never done so before and hoped that the seclusion would somehow help in strengthening her connection to the earth. She sat in silence for near an hour; absorbing the energy and feeling the connection grow. Suddenly, the silence was broken by a deafening boom and the forest began to fill with the subtle scent of smoke. Running to see the commotion, SZP was met with a terrific sight. A small village was being pillaged by an enormous dragon for no visible reason. The creature looked so fearsome that SZP did not think she was in possession of enough magic to take it on. So she watched as the village was destroyed.
For a large part of her life, SZP had been fascinated by dragons and heard tale of their ferocity. But not until that moment did she understand the magnitude of the ruthlessness nor could she forgive herself for being unable to save anyone in that village. So she developed a new goal in life. She left the Order of Magi to take the oath, become a Dragon Slayer, learn all that she could about the creatures and, thus, protect many other people. On her way to Castle Rogue, she made a point to walk through the ruins of the village to honour their memory. To her delight it seemed that a few people had survived the ordeal as she came across many freshly dug graves and foot prints leading away from the ruins. Whoever had dug the graves was no longer there, but perhaps she would meet them someday. Perhaps she would have a chance to tell them how sorry she was."
