"Good," Lucivar said. "As long as you're feeling better." Leaning over, he kissed her forehead once, and then stepped back again so she could go about whatever she was doing.

Lily smiled at that and went to go plop down between Clint and Robin again to eat and watch a movie with them.

A few days later, Heather was standing in the middle of a crowd as she watched the Avengers do some sort of community-service PR thing. Tony had been required to be there, so Heather had tagged along. Somehow, she had managed to convince Daemon to stay home, saying she would be fine with Tony there, and Charles was off taking care of his own things for the moment.

Lily was parked next to her, in a similar situation with Clint. Lucivar had stayed behind, but Robin was somewhere in the crowd.

So far everything had been going smoothly, for which Tony was rather grateful. At least Cap hadn't yelled at anyone this time.

Heather was content to hang out and keep an eye on Tony. It was a nice day, and she was enjoying seeing the Avengers interact with the public outside of a crisis.

Somehow, Steve managed to escape for a few minutes, and he made his way over to Heather. He had a goal in mind, after all.

"Heather?" he asked, glancing between the two girls.

Heather blinked and looked over at him. That was surprising; she hadn't expected anyone to approach her.

"Captain Rogers," she said, smiling a bit. "What brings you over here?"

"I had a few questions, if you don't mind," Steve said with a little smile. "Tony certainly seems content with your group, but I just wanted to double-check."

"Sure," Heather replied, nodding a bit, "go ahead." There hadn't been any problems or anything, at least not that she was aware of.

"He hasn't done anything stranger than normal for him?" Steve asked. "He seems okay? Settling in with the others alright? I know he's friends with Charles, but he doesn't talk much about your house either."

"I haven't noticed anything too terribly unusual," Heather replied, thinking. "Charles hasn't mentioned Tony acting oddly. And Tony seems to be settling in just fine, considering we all share the house with a giant magical cat."

Steve blinked at that. Twice.

"I'm not sure I want to know," he said, though his lips were twitching in an effort not to grin.

Heather grinned.

"Kaelas is an eight hundred pound hunting cat, with access to some rather strong magic," she said. "He's intelligent and can talk, and everyone I bring into the house ends up getting to face Kaelas before being allowed to stay because he's protective and a bit territorial. But he likes Tony well enough, at least, and Tony knows Kaelas is magical."

Steve snickered. "Has he complained yet?" he asked with a knowing little grin. "Seems like he takes every opportunity to complain about anything magical."

"Not anywhere Kaelas can hear," Heather replied, grinning. "I mean, the cat is easily twice your weight, at least, though he really is just a big kitty."

Steve snorted quietly. "Never really dealt with cats much," he said with a little shrug. "Just a coupl'a strays, at a few points. And I know Tony has never had a pet."

Heather grinned.

"Oh I know Tony's never had a pet," she said. "And it's amusing, because Kaelas has never been a pet. But they get along well enough by staying out of each other's way."

Steve nodded, grinning a bit. "Better than them not getting along," he said. "What about the other two? I have met Charles before, once."

"Charles is there," Heather nodded. "He and Tony are good friends, I think they have been since way before they came to me." Her expression softened just a little. "And there's Daemon."

"I'm guessing he's been with you longer." Steve smiled a little.

Heather nodded.

"Ever since I was old enough to take on a group," she said. "He was the first."

Steve nodded. "Unfortunately I think I have to get up there," he said. "Thank you for taking the time to talk to me, Heather."

"My pleasure, Captain," Heather replied with a smile. "If you have any other questions, please let me know."

"I will." Steve nodded to her and headed back up to Tony and Clint, since the actual press thing was about to start.

"Well, that was new." Lily blinked, having just watched the whole interaction.

"I wonder what got him so curious," Heather murmured as the press thing started.
