Lily smiled. Aw, he was kind of cute, all hopeful like that.

"That's a yes," she confirmed. "But if at any time you feel like things aren't working out, just let me know. No harm done."

"Promise, I'll speak up," Clint said, nodding.

Over at the next table, Heather waited for her two prospects to show up. She wanted to know who Daemon had picked for her.

"Good." Lily grinned when she saw Tony going over to Heather's table. "Looks like you'll get a chance to get even, Clint."

Tony grinned when he saw Heather. "So, looks like you're the one he's attached to," he said.

Clint glanced over and snickered.

"Oh this should be good," he said. "Let's let him get comfortable first."

"Looks like," Heather said with a bit of a grin. "I take it you're one of my prospects?"

Lily grinned and settled back to watch.

"Yes I am." Tony grinned at her. "And I don't know who the other person or people are but, come on, this is me we're talking about here."

"I see this," Heather said, watching him. "Why come to me?"

Tony shrugged. "Seemed like you'd be a good fit," he said. "Or I'd be a good fit with you, either way. You're not right in the middle of the city, which is nice, and you don't seem like the kind of person to demand that I stay around all the time."

"You're right, I'm not," Heather said, nodding. She sat back a bit. "So you want something low-key, then." She grinned a bit. "With your job, I can't say I blame you."

Tony shrugged. "It's great having the rest of the team around, but Widow is terrifying and sometimes I need quiet. Well. Relative quiet. None of that yoga crap like Bruce likes."

"I see," Heather said. She considered him for a moment. "What are your thoughts on animals?"

Tony shrugged. "Never had one," he said. "They're not allowed in my lab, which won't be an issue. All bets are off if they attack me first. Otherwise, they're fine, I guess."

"Kaelas knows better," Heather said. "I warned him that there were going to be some new faces around. But that's good, you shouldn't have too much trouble with him."

"Kaelas? Huh, okay, interesting name," Tony said. "Sure, I can get along with an animal, just don't expect me to be great at it, just ask Pepper, I'm not so great with living things."

"Don't worry, Kaelas will let you know if he doesn't like something," Heather replied. She grinned, and the grin was a tad wicked. "Kaelas is Arcerian. Giant magical cat. So he can talk, no problem."

"Giant magical cat." Tony was silent for a moment. "Have I mentioned that I don't like magic? Magic makes no sense and it used to screw up my tech but my tech is far superior to any magic so it doesn't happen anymore."

"Don't like magic?" Heather asked, raising an eyebrow. "Alright, good to know. Not something that can't be worked around, I'm sure."

"I like tech, tech is good, tech makes sense." Tony made a face. "And I can get tech to do what I want."

Heather grinned and shrugged a bit.

"Not saying there's anything wrong with it," she pointed out. "I'm good with tech and magic both, neither one bothers me at all."

"Bah." Tony shook his head. "Tech is better, which you will realize once I've upgraded everything appropriately."

Heather just raised an eyebrow.

"Pretty big claim, considering the two I live with right now are both magical," she pointed out with a bit of a grin. She tilted her head just slightly to indicate that she meant Kaelas and Daemon.

"Not a problem, I can work around that," Tony said with a snort. "I have magic-proofed the whole tower, Doc Strange can come by for as long as he likes without anything shorting out."

"Alright," Heather said. "What about your general habits?"

Tony blinked. General habits? Did he have any?

"Coffee," he said. "Coffee and building things."

That was pretty much the moment Clint had been waiting for.

"That's an understatement," he said, going over and slinging an arm over Tony's shoulder. "He's a workaholic. He'll go on a building binge and we won't see him for three days. He'll forget what day it is, if you let him."

"Clint!" Tony shrugged him off, glowering. "I would not forget what a day is! Besides, Jarvis reminds me of all the important things, and besides, I make you all the best toys, don't I?"
