'cause they don't have quantifiable standards for their "pg-13" rules. It's pretty much completely arbitrary to the individual mod. Fuck that shit.

Well then my friend, Welcome to Menewsha.

To quantify PG-13 is tough, but I do assure you that here on menewsha each case is reviewed by the entire team to determine the best course of action, not just a single individuals opinion.

Welp, you know the MPAA did quite a fine job, I don't know why no website can come up with anything quantifiable. I know there's a lot different content of posts, but I can imagine some loose across the board guidelines such as "no bare bodies in images, no gore, no word postings that evoke and describe the details of sex, no sex RPing. etc." but no. Screw that. I've seen people given warnings for posting "dickbutt." and that's it. It's ridiculous.

OH! I've heard tell of people being banned for too much gore and so on? It sounds really crazy, but you saying about it seeming arbitrary to the individual mod makes a lot of sense. I suppose it's down to the same problem that its always been on there; too many users and no where near enough mods. On here it's not busy enough to be in a situation where you need to act on something immediately, without confering because there's a huge backlog of prolems and not enough people to deal with them.

That's a good question, and one that's rather difficult to answer but I'll give it my best shot. I think your idea of loose guidelines is in place for sure. Something are one look yup that's bad lets get that out of here but not everything is so very cut and dry, most things fall in that grey area that exists between black and white which often makes things more difficult to determine if it really falls outside that PG-13 smokescreen. For example, you could(and we have seen it) have someone describe a scene while skirting around the details of what's really happening in the scene but come so close to it that you really have to wonder if they are too close, if they really crossed that line or if they only toed it.

Humans all think differently, that's why its situational. Because one person's idea of too much, is another person's idea of mild. That's why we put things to a group, if the group (who has a collective idea's of very different individuals) thinks its too much then it is. If not then its not falling down to just one person saying let it go.

sjacklene: Thank you
Thi. Exactly this. I know I have been a lone voice in the graphic gore discussion since I have a high tolerance of it. But when the rest of the group is in majority on the issue I can only make my case and stand by the decision made by the group.
