The day the Rooster lost his Antlers
One day, when the King of Dragons was on his weekly patrol of the sky, the Rooster was strutting before his hens. His head bore the antlers that made him so proud, and as he tossed his head about with pride the Dragon King flew above. The King thought to himself as he saw those magnificent antlers that the rooster was rightfully proud of them. However, such magnificence was not allowed for any but the King in this kingdom. So the King of Dragons asked the Rooster why he wore such a headdress.
The Roster said, chest puffed out, "I grew them myself. Are they not wonderful?"
And Dragon replied, "Indeed they are. Say- I have a presentation to go to tonight, would you let me borrow them?"
The Rooster was perturbed by this. He loved his antlers! But this was also the King, and he was asking ever so nicely.
As he milled it over, the King of Dragons wriggled his talons in anticipation of wearing those great antlers upon his brow. Surely he would be the most magnificent beast of them all!
When the Rooster at last decided he would hand them over, the Dragon popped them on and flew away. The Roster never got his antlers back, but the King of Dragons made sure to send a nicely wrapped gift of spurs at some later date.

It's a legend I heard as a kid. >n< I love that legend. And the antlers looked more like coral branches than deer antler. It's a chinese story.
