"Whether I'm allows to or not, I'm going to," Steve said with a grin. "They can't make me go anywhere."

Alissa grinned and took his hand. "Alright, sounds like fun." She motioned for him to lead the way.

"The government would try to tell you otherwise," Taylor pointed out, giving a bit of a teasing grin. "Heaven forbid Steve Rodgers takes time off from being Captain America." She grinned more. "I told you the aliens would happen, though."

Bucky took her hand and led her all the way back to his place. "Make yourself comfortable," he said. "I'll go start cooking."

"Yes, you did," Steve agreed. "And it's going to take more aliens to get me back on the job for a while. I've got a lot of accumulated sick leave and paid vacation time."

Alissa looked at his apartment before she started laughing. She really couldn't help it, and she wasn't even laughing at him. Just the irony of life.

Taylor grinned.

"Lucky for me, I have some vacation time saver up too," she said. "I might be able to swing some days off."

Bucky raised an eyebrow.

"What're you laughing at?" he asked. "Yes, I have an apartment, 's not like I need anything bigger. Steve's got his own apartment too."

Steve grinned at that. "Good," he said. "That's good. We could use the time."

"No, no, it's not that," Alissa told him with a grin. "We're two blocks away from my place."

"We could," Taylor agreed. She grinned. "Maybe we could go somewhere."

Bucky blinked.

"Really?" he asked. "Huh. What're the chances?" He grinned. "Though it'll be easy to get you back to your place later, then."

"We could," Steve agreed. "Anywhere in particular you want to go?"

"No kidding." Alissa paused when a thought occurred to her. "You're still going to do the whole walk me to do my door bit aren't you?"

"You're the one who's been all over the world," Taylor pointed out with a grin. "Surprise me."

"Of course I am," Bucky said, grinning. "It's only proper."

"How far do you want to go?" Steve promptly asked, because by now, he had been to every continent.

Alissa chuckled. "Somehow I'm not surprised. Seventy years and some things haven't changed at all." She shook her head, amused.

"As far as you feel like taking me," Taylor said. "Seriously, pick a place, it doesn't matter how far away."

"I always aim to please you," Bucky said, grinning.

"England?" Steve suggested. "I know a few really good places in England."

Alissa grinned at that and shook her head, settling in to watch him cook for a bit.

"So what did you do for seventy years?"

"England is fine with me," Taylor said, nodding. "Up to Scotland too?"

"This and that," Bucky said as he moved around the kitchen. His sleeves were rolled to the elbows, and his metal arm gleamed. "Traveled a lot. Took on a ton of missions. Lost my arm, got a new one built."

"Sure," Steve agreed. "I haven't spent much time in Scotland. That'll be interesting." Plus it would be time with her, which was definitely a plus.

"That doesn't sound so bad, in general. Apart from the arm. I imagine that sucks no matter how you look at it." Alissa did indeed look at the arm and grinned to herself.

"Sounds like a plan to me," Taylor said, grinning. She was looking forward to a trip with him.

"Hey, I got the awesome replacement," Bucky pointed out, grinning. "Come on, what's not to like about a five hundred PSI grip strength?"

"Good." Steve grinned. "I'll make sure you can actually get the time off before I make reservations, though."

Alissa laughed a little at that. "I haven't got a clue," she admitted. "How much can you feel with it?" She ran her fingers down along the arm again.

"A little," Bucky said. "Just enough that I don't crush things I try to grab."

"Well, that's good, at least," Alissa said. "Could be worse." She grinned teasingly. "You can still cook, at least hypothetically, since I still have no proof of this."

"Relax," Bucky replied, grinning. "I'm working on it. It's not like I'm just slapping together sandwiches, here."

"Yes, heaven forbid we just have sandwiches," Alissa said, rolling her eyes. But she was grinning, and she found a spot to watch him without being in the way.

Bucky snickered but kept cooking. A little while later, he set a plate in front of her. It was, of all things, a burger. But it was a homemade burger, and he set a bag of chips on the table as well.

Alissa blinked before she grinned and shook her head, taking the burger. "You're lucky I really like burgers," she said, though she was grinning teasingly at him.

"Hey, I make it my business to know what my girl likes," Bucky replied with a grin. "Besides, these are damn good burgers, you can't tell me they're not."

"Oh you don't even know everything I like yet," Alissa told him. "There are plenty of things I still have to introduce you to, or bring to your attention."

"I look forward to learning all of it," Bucky said, grinning. He leaned across the small table and kissed her cheek.

Alissa smiled and turned her head so she could kiss him properly. He did cook for her, after all.
