@OnYourGoat If you want to make a 1x1 thread and give a little scenario I'd be happy to (I dunno if it's okay to RP here or not xD). :) Just need a general setting (medieval/fantasy/syfy/etc) and a time period/location. I'm fond of medieval with magic, though I can suit my character to any setting really.

But I understand on that. My outlet for that is roleplaying. For me, it's nice to have some degree of... "lack of control". I know my best friend very well and can generally guess what her response will be, but she can still surprise me. So I get to tell story as I enjoy, while also not having to control everything and get to experience story, like a reader. /ramble

It's too bad you lost them, though. D: I had that happen to me too. Almost everything I wrote from about 2005 and before is gone. Very little of it was really worth missing, but I had a good story seed I only remember bits of.

I noticed the double-gold event poking around the forums, I'm definitely looking forward to that! I usually get about thirty gold per post while roleplaying, but I'm going to make it a point to go for the hundred per post that day.

Nice. xD Even your regular posts would earn you some nice change. They'd be worth about 60 gold, so nothing to sneeze at.

@CK I'm not upset about my loss there, I wasn't a happy kid. To be honest, probably best forgotten. I love roleplaying mostly for the fact that it's the best of both worlds; you get to write a story with someone else, but you also get to read the story and learn about the other character/characters at the same time. It's like those old "choose your own adventure" books, loved those. xD

People kind of use the official event hangout threads for "light roleplaying" (generally, playing their avatar interacting with the setting described in the first posts, talking to NPCs as if they were real; etc).

It's perfectly okay to make a roleplaying thread in the Halloween event forum. xD If you wanted to continue the rp after the event, it's easy enough just to report the thread and ask for it to be moved to the proper roleplaying forums.

@CK I've noticed some light roleplaying, that's something I generally do no matter where I'm posting. xD I'm the only person I know who has taken a character from short stories I've written and incorporated them into roleplays. I tend to do it a lot actually, for NPCs. xD

Oh i write about them a lot, I jsut... fail alot too. XD

Do you play visual novel games? Not necessarily "dating sims" (though those are my favorite, obviously, my being a romance writer), but stories that let you choose?

Can't say I've ever played a "visual novel game." Seems interesting though.

It's an otome (girl protagonist) romance/raising sim game. But very good.

Their pay games in the mystery series (Kansei, Jisei; etc) are fun. Nice and twisted. Looking forward to when they bring out Backstage Pass properly.

It's obviously otome. One of the better free otome games out there.

Brain totally lost the plot and I've forgotten others.

But it's easy to find more free games via this site: Ren'Py Games List Just noting that the games labeled "Kinetic novel" don't let you make choices. It's just a semi-animated story for you to read. And, well, not all the games posted on Renpy's homepage are jaw droppers. But it's worth bookmarking.

I'm tired, but it'll probably be a sleepless night for me. Nothing new. I've already bagged 115 taters though!
