Yeah. That's a lot of the problem. I really think the state and federal laws need to be more realistic as sometimes they are extremely limited. I also understand that frustration though. If someone jumps into my yard and gets attacked by my German shepherd because they are in my yard and she is trained to protect the yard then I not only have to put the dog down, but pay restitution to the asshole who was in my yard without my permission. UNLESS I displayed very publicly and in multiple locations that there was a dog in said yard and that it was a "bully breed"

Yep, every state is just a bit different on how the handle the gun issue. I do enjoy living in Arizona because we are a right to bear arm state and they don't have too many over bearing laws about the guns, and wouldn't ya know it, we don't seem to have as many issues like California does.

That's one thing I like about Georgia: if someone is intruding in your house (is uninvited) toy are allowed any measure of force to remove them. Obviously with a jury trial they'll take things to more detail but the law states that you may.

Yeah. Our gun laws over in Cali are pretty f-ed up. I'm really glad that CCW court case happened in San Diego though. It was extremely difficult to get licensed as a CCW carrier here before that. Pretty much had to know someone who knew the Sheriff in the town you applied.

We technically have that law in California as well. It rarely turns out that way once the jury occurs though. Essentially if you don't kill them they can sue you after the fact for "damages and injuries to self". UNLESS you happen to hit perfectly below the belt and don't do any permanent damage. Then its a little more grey.

Bully breed my ass, it's bully humans that make bully dogs. Stupidity breeds aggressive stupidity.
That being said, it's always so much fun trying to find apartments and houses to rent if you have a dog that is considered aggressive. I know more then a few pit bulls that are sweet, loving family dogs.

CCW? It's not hard to get the paperwork here so long as you don't have a violent history, but getting a firearm is a pain, and using it under any circumstance is illegal so it's pointless

Sadly common sense isn't so common anymore. Down right scary what people think, say and do these days.

LOL! I know. My baby is the sweetest, but she is trained to know that if I haven't introduced you to her she does not let you enter her yard/house. It's that simple. She isn't mean if the correct procedure is followed. In fact, she's a giant lap dog. She loves being near people and loving on them. It's just stupid. I pay extra on my home insurance because of it.

That's how this house is. We have a cop and a marine here, though. Between the three of us living here I am pretty sure we have a decent arsenal. :/


CCW = Concealed Carry Permit. I was denied my originally despite working for the department and being followed home regularly and wanting it simply for protection from the psychos that can't realize that not everyone in a uniform is out there to hurt you and some of us want to help.
