Attic
Ascending the attics steps, you're instantly assaulted by a horrific site. It's the body of a young man who's head has been beaten in. Dr. Louis moves in closer while you and your friends hang back. She checks for signs of life, but in vain. "He's dead." Looking down at his attire, she frowns. "These pajamas... They're Michelle's. It's what the patients at Smythe's Meadow wear. She must have killed him and traded clothes." You're about to ask why she would've bothered to redress him, but think better of it. "This is an example of a tough lesson we've learned tonight, " she laments. "Death comes to all us. - Some sooner than later." (Death's Minion)
Bathroom
Once upon a time, the Myles restroom may have been a thing of beauty. With its crisp white subway tile, vintage pedestal sink and claw-foot tub. But like the rest of the house, time has been a poor friend to the bathroom, leaving it a filthy and foul smelling mess. And what's that over there? Did someone... Oh, gross! (Rub-A-Dub-Dub & Have you seen my dog?)
Cellar
Going into the cellar of an old, spooky house? What were you thinking? (R.I.P)
Den
If this were a horror movie, the audience would probably be shouting, "Don't go in there!" But you decide to be brave and follow the trail of muddy footprints into the den. This new found confidence wavers as you spot the blood and then... Is that... It's a a half eaten dog carcass! Oh god, who was eating it? Was it Michelle Myles?! - Whatever the answer, you can't bear to look at it. Spotting a cardboard box, you plan to cover the poor thing. But there's something inside. It's a baby blanket. A pink one with an embroidered 'K'. Who could this have belonged to? (+1 point)
Eddie & Donna Myles' Bedroom
Whoever lives here has some kooky taste is decorating. The old bedroom is pretty bare, if you don't take into account the bed and the massive gravestone propped up against the headboard. The stone reads 'Beloved Mother & Father - Edward "Eddie" Myles - Donna Myles - R.I.P.' Moving it musta took some real effort. Y'know, for just getting back into town, Michelle Myles sure has been busy. (A Night in the Graveyard & BRAINZZZ)
Kitchen
As anyone who's spent time round a scrapyard or dump will tell you, if you leave an unplugged refrigerator closed for a certain length of time, it's gonna stink really bad. You, having little next to no experience with scrapyards or dumps, weren't aware of this. So when your friend bets you won't throw open the ancient Myles fridge and take a deep breath, that's just easy money. -- Well you won the bet, but ruined a perfectly good pair of shoes. (+900g )
Living Room
There isn't much to the living room, but what's there is an eclectic mix. A prim 20s interior inhabited by a smattering of tacky 50s furniture. But you're not here to admire nor criticize the decor. You're here looking for a killer, who could be anywhere. Conceivably, even in the fireplace. Hey, if Santa can do it... You gather your courage and crouch down on the hearth, reaching inside. Thankfully, it's unoccupied. But your hand catches a loose brick, and it falls. Feeling inside the now exposed cavity, you're surprised to find a wad of cash. Very strange. There's far too many mysteries tonight. (+1000g )
Michelle Myles' Bedroom
Every teenager in Haverfield knows, it being such a small town, there really isn't much to do. And so they are left to make their own entertainment. This has included, over the years, daring each other to venture into the supposedly haunted Myles house. Usually the routine goes one teen enters, spends a frightful few hours jumping at shadows, and exits. No harm done. But unfortunately for one teen, he found the lady of the house home. And she decided to repaint the walls with his blood. Trying not to wretch, you retrieve his wallet and check the school ID. Alex Marvin. Never heard of him, but you don't think he'll be needing his money anymore. (+800 gold )

Nema: So… remind me what we’re doing again. Damia Flagg: We’re hunting for Michelle Myles. Nema: Riiiight. Um, question: If we came here looking for a murderous psycho, why didn’t we think to stop and get weapons first? HamletSpamlet: It doesn’t serve the story. And it wouldn’t be much of a survival game if we could defend ourselves. Damia Flagg: You are so weird. Andy: Let’s cool it on the chatter, guys. We’re supposed to be searching. HamletSpamlet: [matter-of-factly] Well you can stop searching. She’s standing right there.
Screams fill the room. In the blink of an eye and with a flash of her blade, three new poor souls join the roster of Michelle Myles’ victims. Quickly scanning the darkened cellar, Andy retrieves an old two-by-four from a rotting shelf.
Andy: [growling] Come on! Come at me! I’m going to make you pay for what you did to Paula! For Lyndon, for Bonnie, for my mom and all my friends!
The imposing figure of Michelle Myles remains steady, her face vacant and emotionless as always. Andy lunges, swinging the wooden plank. But Michelle deftly dodges the assault. He pivots, himself just missing a swing of the kitchen knife. The clamor of footsteps thunder overhead, and Lawrence and the others funnel down the cellar stairs before abruptly stopping.
Michelle turns. Seizing the opportunity, Andy raises the two-by-four, bringing the board down hard and breaking it over her back. A pained grunt escapes her, the first sound Michelle has made all night. But the attack was not enough to stop her. Before Andy can react, she’s upon him, plunging the knife into his upper chest.
Lawrence: Andy!
Andy falls to the concrete floor. Michelle, visibly weakened, races across the cellar and knocks aside an old standing cabinet, revealing a secret exit, and disappears. Lawrence and the others rush to Andy’s side.
Liztress: Try to keep still, Andy. Dr. Louis, we need to get him out of here! Andy: [grabbing hold of Lawrence] No! There’s no time. You need to stop her, Lawrence. You’re the only one who can! Lawrence: But… Andy: [wincing as he tries to sit up and fails] Listen, this hurts like hell, but we’re so close to the end. Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine. [grits his teeth in pain] You do what you have to do. I believe in you, Lawrence. Jeannesha: It's okay, Lawrence, I’ll stay with him. EirianHikari: Me too. [smiling] You do your best.
An uncertainty lingers in his eyes, but Andy’s words have sparked a certain confidence, and he gives his friend a resolved nod. Lawrence stands. Silently, he crosses the cellar, through the secret exit, up the rough hewn steps and into the cold night.
The old cellar entrance had long been covered over by dirt and debris. Eddies Myles buried it himself. Not to keep anyone out, but as a way to keep his daughter in. Now, after so many years, its doors hang ajar once more. A trail opens up before the group, heading into the woods. Lawrence leads the way, and with each step a new look of determination builds on his face. Pretty soon the forest parts, revealing a moonlit clearing where Michelle waits, unmoving.
Trees are packed densely on either side, and beyond the clearing is a ravine that drops down into the Haverfield River. The only direction to run is back toward the house. But Lawrence has no intention of running.
dragoness129: [afraid] Why is she just standing there? Dr. Louis: [frightened] This is madness. I was wrong to bring you all out here. We need to turn back! Mikio: She’s right, Lawrence! We can’t fight her! Lawrence: [stoically] No, I can’t turn back. It’s like Andy said, I have to do what I have to do. Dr. Louis: But… Lawrence: Whatever the outcome might be, Dr. Louis, once this is done, take care of Andy, and make sure you get everyone home safely. [giving the doctor a small smile] Paula, Lyndon, Bonnie and the others too. Please take them home.
With that, Lawrence calmly walks into the clearing, toward the dark figure of Michelle Myles. Dr. Louis calls out to him, but he doesn’t look back. The night is coming to its close. It will be light soon. But before that can happen, Lawrence knows this has to end.
Lawrence: [reaching her] You can stop now, mom. It’s alright. I’m here. You don’t need to hurt anyone else. I’m here with you.
Michelle stands with no reaction. Lawrence moves in closer.
Lawrence: I’m here with you. And I won’t ever leave you again. I promise. We…
Frantic shouts burst out from the woods. Surprised, Lawrence whips around. From the darkened trail, Sheriff Bradshaw appears, being helped along by EirianHikari. She is heavily bandaged, and hobbles as she walks, but she moves with a panicked frenzied.
Angel Spirit Girl: All right, backup! Sheriff Bradshaw: Lawrence! Lawrence, run! You’re not the one! You’re not her son!
Lawrence’s eyes widen with fresh horror. “What?!” But before he can turn to face Michelle again, he’s filled with an explosion of pain as the knife is thrust into his back. He screams and stumbles. She looms over him, poised to strike again, but is suddenly pelted by rocks.
HIM_ROCK: You leave him alone, you asshole! Nephila: [joining in] Yeah, eat rocks!
Michelle flinches, just long enough for Dr. Louis to bravely dash forward and grab Lawrence by the arms, dragging him backwards. CK and Elirona run to her side.
CK: Here Dr. Louis, let us help you! Elirona: [grabbing Lawrence under the arm] You’re in good hands, Prince Charming.
Lawrence has passed out, but the two manage to prop him up. Cardinal Biggles quickly tears off the hem of her peasant skirt and hands the fabric to CK.
Cardinal Biggles: Here, to stem the bleeding! Dr. Louis: [addressing the sheriff] What do you mean Lawrence isn’t her son?! Sheriff Bradshaw: [dead serious] Lawrence isn’t her child! I tried to tell you earlier! [she turns] It’s KatMagenta!
Shock sweeps through the group.
Vox: No way!
KatMagenta: [stunned] No… That can’t be true! Sheriff Bradshaw: I’m afraid it is. [angrily calling out] Isn’t it, Michelle?!
For the first time tonight, for the first time in fifteen years, Michelle Myles responds. Not with words, but with a simple nod. Her hand moves to her face. Dropping the hood, she pulls back the mask to reaveal...
Dr. Louis: [aghast] My god, why didn’t I see it before?! She looks… She looks… sjacklene: [pointing] Holy crap! She looks just like you, Kat!
Michelle allows the mask to drop, and once again readies her weapon.
KatMagenta: [confused] No, it can’t be true! Roachi: Were you adopted, Kat?! KatMagenta: Yes, but I was told I was born in December! And no one said anything about me being at Rose Wood! Chexala: Maybe they were trying to hide your identity!
Michelle Myles is quickly advancing. Dr. Louis throws her keys to Sheriff Bradshaw.
Dr. Louis: There’s no time to discuss this! Take the van and get them out of here! Sheriff Bradshaw: Are you crazy?! What about you?! Dr. Louis: You were right, sheriff. Michelle is my responsibility. I lost too many of these kids tonight! No more! Maria-Minamino: We’re not leaving you, Dr. Louis! Dr. Louis: I said go!
Sheriff Bradshaw hesitates, but hurt and unarmed, she knows there is nothing she can do. Michelle has nearly reached them. The teens begin to flee as Dr. Louis plants herself in the murderer’s path.
Dr. Louis: You heard what I said, Michelle?! No more! You want them, you’re going to have to go through me!
Michelle charges, grabbing Dr. Louis by the vest and lashing out. The doctor pulls away at the last second, avoiding a fatal blow, but suffering a deep laceration to the arm. She cries out in pain. Michelle goes in for the second attack. Without hesitation or little thought, KatMagenta sprints forward, knocking the killer off balance and sending herself crashing to the ground.
Hadsvich: Kat, look out! Run!
Michelle rounds on her, but KatMagenta is quickly on her feet, breaking for the ravine. She gasps, heart pounding through her chest, as she abruptly stops at the cliff’s edge. There’s nowhere to go but down. Panic begins to flood her senses.
Michelle Myles has reached the girl, knife still drawn. Trembling, KatMagenta looks up into her face. This is the face of the woman who’s hunted her all evening. This is the face of the woman who killed so many of her friends. A face that looks so much like her own. But no, there is a difference. In those eyes lies a disregard for human life, eyes with little soul. But still the same, eyes that have been searching and longing. And it is in that blackness that KatMagenta sees the terror of that longing, and she begins to feel pity. But Andy was right. Lawrence was right. What needs to be done, must be done.
KatMagenta: You were looking for me, weren’t you?
Michelle only stares on blankly.
KatMagenta: [softly] You were just a girl, younger than I am now, and they took me away from you. And all you wanted was love, I bet. Just to have someone who wouldn’t judge you.
Though there is still no readable emotion, Michelle’s visage begins to soften as she peers down at KatMagenta.
KatMagenta: You must have suffered so long. Been so alone. But none of them understood, did they? Just how far the depths of your loneliness reached. I’m sure they called you so many things. But they didn’t understand. -- Well, I do. You’re not sick. You’re not a monster. You’re just a lonely woman with a mother’s heart. I understand. And I’m here for you, mom. I will be your daughter.
Michelle drops the knife. A hint of a deep and buried yearning surfaces on her stony face. Slowly she opens her arms, and wraps them around KatMagenta. Tears begin to well up on the younger girl’s face.
KatMagenta: I’m sorry. I wish things could have been different. I wish you could have been the mother you wanted to be. … But it’s too late.
In one swift movement, KatMagenta twists the two of them around and with all her strength she sends Michelle Myles plummeting down into the ravine. Michelle falls. No sound. No cries. Only reaching out for her child, before her body hits the rocks and is swept away by the river.
KatMagenta: I’m sorry.
Still she shakes. It takes every ounce of energy to not fall to her knees and weep. But gathering herself, KatMagenta wipes her eyes and returns to her friends, leaving the ravine behind forever.
GwenaHikari: Are you okay, Kat? KatMagenta: [whispering] Yeah. blueblackrose: You’re not hurt? KatMagenta: [braving a smile] I’m fine. – It’s finished.
Lawrence remains unconscious, but breathing. Dr. Louis, though hurts, has steadied herself. She, Lawrence and Andy will need to be taken to the clinic.
Dr. Louis: Yes, it’s finished. Time to go. DivineHeart: Can I help you walk, Dr. Louis? Dr. Louis: Thank you, dear. Miscreant74: [mildly chuckling] I guess now they’ll have to believe everything you say down in Smythe’s Meadow.
The trip back to the van is a solemn one, but one filled with relief. Everyone moves as if in a dream state. Afraid to believe that the nightmare is really over.
GummyBearKisses: Next year I’m staying home with my parents and handing out candy. star2000shadow: Me too. They may be boring, but they’re safe.
KatMagenta takes the passenger seat, staring off as the van speeds away from the old Myles’ house.
“I’m sorry.”
She wasn’t lying when she said those words. She truly felt a sense of sorrow for Michelle Myles. For the woman who could have been her mother. And from this day forward, she knew, things would never be the same. But there would be time to ponder all this later. For now, the sky is lightening. Morning has come and Halloween is over.

As i've said before, the story for this game was inspired by the 1978 horror classic film, Halloween. Many names and locations are plays on places and people from the movie and its sequel, Halloween II. Even the town of Haverfield is based on Halloween's Haddonfield.
Here's who our main characters were based on:
Lawrence Stroud and Laurie Strode
Andy Bradshaw and Annie Brackett
Paula Carpenter and Paul
You never see Paul on camera, only his voice on the phone, which was provided by the director of Halloween, John Carpenter. ;D
Lyndon Von Dirk and Lynda Van der Klok
Bonnie Simon and Bob Simms
Dr. Samantha Louis and Dr. Samuel Loomis
Sheriff Leanne Bradshaw and Sheriff Leigh Brackett
Deputy Gerald Hurt and Deputy Gary Hunt
Nurse Marion Chambers and Dr. Marlon Chamberlain
Michelle Myles and Michael Myers
I want to thank everyone who played along with Belly and I this year. This story was a lot of fun to write, and i'm really pleased that you all had fun too.
See ya next time.

Thanks, guys! It's been really fun seeing your reactions as you explore the story. :D
And thank you, Howdy, for your amazing writing and for doing most of the daily work of managing the thread while I scrambled around doing a billion other things. Ilu.

How totally awesome to be in the story, and not be dead! And I love how you portrayed me! Very in keeping with how Eirian is when I role play as her, being the clerical type and staying with a victim, awesome!
I didn't die!!!!!! *jumps up and down* I survived a horror movie! er Horror story?! Thanks Belly and howdy ^-^ It was fun even though I don't do horror stuffs.

OMG. I did have that one.... but I thought it was in reference to Halloween for some reason (I remembered Crystal Lake, I just got my horror movies confused). I FAILED.
Oh well. xD
I AM A SURVIVORRRRRR!
Thank you for the prizes, Belly and Howdy! And thank you a thousand times for running the game. It was really a lot of fun to experience. :3
Oh wow Thank you all SO much for doing this. It was such a great idea and felt really cool to see people be included in the story. I THOUGHT I knew the way people were dying was familiar. XD Well done and thank you for the gold. Congrats to all you survivors!
