Felicity fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, her anxiety rising a bit again. That was definitely not what she thought her contract would be about, and she focused on not getting too nervous over it.

"Don't worry about it, like I said he's really old-fashioned." Tony shrugged. "I doubt you'll even have to do much. Just talk to the guy. He could use some conversation that doesn't involve weird eyebrow-sign-language with his best buddy."

That made Felicity pause.

"...Okay, now you've really lost me," she said.

"Bucky Barnes. Former Winter Soldier Soviet assassin." Tony shrugged. "C'mon, you've seen him at dinner. Long black hair, looks like he sucked on a lemon half the time."

"Oh," Felicity said faintly, "okay."

"Which brings me to your contract," Tony continued, looking at Capri. "Terminator needs a new friend."

"Wait, what?" Capri asked, completely caught off guard. She blinked at him, not unlike a deer in headlights.

"Come on, it's not like it's that weird," Tony said. Then he paused. "Okay, maybe it is. But still, apparently he needs someone to look after him, and someone he can fuss over too. Someone not Cap."

"And you want me to be that someone." Capri looked at him for a few long moments. "You are crazier than I thought, Stark."

"Hey, you were by far the best candidate," Tony said, shrugging. "All of the background and psych checks confirmed it."

"...I don't even know where to start with that," Capri said. "So I'm just going to skip straight to, what the hell do you want me to do?"

"Talk to him," Tony said. He shrugged again. "I don't know. Make friends. He needs to get out more."

Capri rubbed her forehead because this was not what she had thought she was getting into.

"Alright, I'll try, but no penalties if he doesn't like me," she said, looking at Tony.

Tony waved a hand.

"We know it'll take some time," he said. "Don't worry. And you don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with, that's marked on your contract."

"Good. That's good." Capri swallowed. "The best I can do right now is bake goodies for him, so you know."

"Who doesn't like goodies?" Tony said. "Honestly, you're thinking about this way too hard, just make nice to the guy."

"Yeah. Sure. You make it sound so easy." Capri shook her head, because she had seen Bucky before, and he wasn't real talkative, at least not that she'd seen.

"Hey, I told you what your job is, I'm not about to tell you how to do it too," Tony said.

Capri grumbled a little. "Fine, fine," she muttered. "Just don't expect overnight miracles."

"Trust me, we've filled the quota of miracles around here for a while," Tony said. Getting up, he stretched and headed back towards his workshop. "Have fun!"

"...Did that really just happen?" Capri asked once Tony was gone, looking at Felicity. "Are we really supposed to be doing this?"

"Oh good, it happened to you too," Felicity said. She looked just as freaked out as Capri did. "What exactly did we sign up for?"

"I don't know, I really don't know," Capri said, shaking her head. "This is crazy and I don't know but this is not going to be pretty."

"Well, we can't back out now," Felicity said, though she still sounded less than certain. "We may as well go see what we're supposed to be doing."

"I guess so. Besides, we don't have to be with them all the time, we can just kinda... see how it goes." Capri shrugged.

"Right," Felicity said. She still hesitated, and then took a breath to steady herself. "Okay. I'm going to go find Rodgers, then, and see what his plans are."
