SURPRISE! I'm adding more hangouts to the wagon to replace the dead ones.
Hi, Amane! ^_^

I haven't listened to k-pop in a long while, but I do have a few Korean songs on my playlist. Have you listened to/like any of these? (Not sure if they're all in the k-pop category.)
Epik High - One
Girls' Generation - The Boys, Gee, Mr. Taxi
PSY - Gangnam Style, Gentlemen
SHINee - Lucifer, Sorry Sorry, Sherlock
T-ara and Supernova - Time to Love
They're all technically K-pop. Epik High isn't that popular in the international fandom, at least, and even in the K-pop fandom did no one know about PSY until Gangnam Style. XD We feel weird calling him K-pop, but, technically…
SHINee's my favorite group, as my siggie hints at. *high fives* Lucifer is the song that got me really into K-pop. I used to like Girls' Generation a lot, but these days, I like their concepts, but not the songs… I like Gee (everyone loves Gee; that's, like, one of the most famous K-pop songs), and The Boys is okay.
Someone got me talking about K-pop! *explodes with information useless to those without as much interest as me*
And Sorry Sorry is by Super Junior, not SHINee! That's another famous song.
Urky? Like Urkel? Did you watch "Family Matters" back in the day? :)

Oops! No wonder. I remember Sorry Sorry being danced to by a large group of guys, whereas SHINee has five members (I believe?).
Yes, SHINee is five members. I don't even KNOW how many members Super Junior has. I've seen ten singing and dancing together recently. I've seen thirteen in the past. The hardcore ELFs (fans of Super Junior) talk about them being forever fifteen. A member recently returned. Why, I've seen a Super Junior shirt with fifteen faces on it. I have no idea what's going on over there.
DUBSTEP IS MY LIFE. Next to K-pop. Dubstep is perfect "WHAT ARE THESE BEAUTIFUL HALLUCINATIONS IN MY HEAD I NEED TO DROP EVERYTHING AND DANCE NOW" music.
I did see your mention of SHINee in your signature and figured you might be familiar with all these other groups. Do they ever switch out members? I was told that these Korean pop groups are formed when the members are very young, so that they can be trained to sing, dance, dress, et cetera as the industry demands. Are you familiar with this claim, and how true is it?
Also, do you dance like me, or like the K-pop stars? :)
@Imagination
What genres of music do you usually prefer?
And do those songs cause or inspire you to sing, hum along, or respond in a way other than dancing?
I used to sing back in high school to Saving Abel - Addicted xD
But I prefer rock, metal, very little country, odd stuff like Lindsey Stirling, Van Canto...
"BEAUTIFUL HALLUCINATIONS IN MY HEAD" is enough. Not in a synesthesia way, but yeah. If I like the mental images, I like the song. *o* I don't always dance when I hear music.
/I could go through life describing songs as "starry" "curtains" "beads" "blue"
*ahem* Yes, they are trained from a young age. Usually. Debuting idols have gotten younger as time has gone on. In 2008 (I wasn't into K-pop back then, but still), SHINee debuted, and their youngest member was 14. I'm not sure about the others. That was rare back then. Now there was a few who debut at that age and younger, and it's controversial.
Some of the older idols will train for years upon years before debut. I'd say the norm is a few years, but I really have no idea. The most I've heard was seven years, and I've heard six years, too. There's one group where one or two of the members had just joined the company a few months ago. I'm guessing it depends on how good the trainee is.
LOL! I dance to dubstep like a raver/headbanger. Especially when the bass drops. You know it's a good song when it hits and YOU GOTTA STOP EVERYTHING AND DANCE. I preferably dance to K-pop by copying the choreography. There are plenty of times when I dance like you probably do. That's also how I dance to not-K-pop.
I love to sing as long as no one can hear. I can't help but sing K-pop! Yes, I learn the entire song, Korean and all. >> << Sometimes I know what I'm saying.
I also heard that this practice was controversial. What is your opinion on this matter? Do we not foster the talents of young prodigies here in the U.S.?
Yup, that's what happened after puberty...my voice isn't what it used to sound like all those years ago. I do enjoy singing, though. Do you ever go karaoke-ing?
Well, puberty had everything to do with my voice not going as high as it used to!
But I guess it would have little to do with your getting bored with singing. What is this kind of stuff that you would want to sing if you had the voice for it?

You and Imagination both, it seems, distance yourselves from the controversial and political stuff. ^_^ Very well, I will back away from this question.
So how does one dance to dubstep exactly? *wiggles arms*
