I have been remiss in posting here. "Oh almighty Seacow! Do not forsake me for my oversight! In your name I pray, amen."

Salvete, do you work in the healthcare industry? I know my older sister was required to get it when she worked at hospital, even though she was only part of the kitchen staff.

I'm not working right now ^_^ I'm a student

but I have worked in the healthcare industry before and yes, I remember we were required to get flu shots every year, otherwise we'd have to wear a mask or something along those lines

Amy's work was way more strict than that when it came to the flu shot. If you didn't get it for the year you faced losing your job, it was part of the packet of paperwork new hires signed in order to work there that the hospital would require all staff to get the flu shot prior to flu season to ensure that they remained healthy through the height of flu season, should you decline the shot you could/would be terminated on the spot for failure to comply. Amy was never one to get the shots before, but since it was a condition of her work place she went along with it.

All that has change though, she left that job for another one and it hasn't exactly been what she was told or expecting. So now her and her new husband are moving to Colorado. His family is up there, Amy likes the cold weather and mountains, she already has a job! They wanted her to start immediately, however she does have a house to sell in California and they have to find a place up there. Kind of excited for her!

What are you studying for Salvete?

Oh wow, yes it wasn't so strict at the place I worked...but I guess it is good to get the flu shot for the sake of yourself and patients and babies you come in contact with

wow congratulations to your sister! what was the job that she got after the hospital one? And her new job over in Colorado?

We have exams next next week on various subjects so that's what I would be studying for

Amy left the hospital for another chef position, but one where she was the head chef, so basically the manager of the area. Well, what she was told in the interview and what came to pass were two very different things. Loads of stress because the person before her did not run the establishment to corporate standards and let a lot of important things slide they shouldn't have. So Amy had to start pulling it all together and folks didn't like it, bitched and complained and it's not what she signed up for, especially since she is newly married and there is that added stress. Amy just got overwhelmed.

All I know about the new job is it is a Chef position, no clue about the actual restaurant. Hopefully we can chat soon and there will be more details to share here.

You better study, Salvete. Don't let all your hard work go just to chat with us here.

I just saw today (thanks to a link Kent: showed me) that our almighty seacow (aka whalecow) is part of the Menewshan (Chain?) zodiac!! It looks a little different but definitely recognizable:

http://www.menewsha.com/forum/histor...post1763859170

And here is the description (in quotes):

Quote:
Whalecow (Sea)

Years: 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009

Whalecows are the gentle giants of the sea and the faithful steeds of the legendary Whalecow Riders. A person born in the year of the Whalecow is patient, logical, friendly, and honest. They share a wealth of common sense, but can be a bit stubborn and demanding.

---------- Post added 03-05-2016 at 03:38 PM ----------

And they even had that event during the year of the whalecow! Can't believe I missed it!

I posted a suggestion in the CI suggestions thread for more seacow items :3 and then Kent posted about the zodiac. It would be super cool if another future event was about the zodiac...I guess it could be another lunar near year type of event, or maybe the zodiac characters could be celebrating a completely different holiday :)
