Casey extracted herself from the back seat and took a look at the diner. From the outside it looked like a pretty typical small town restaurant, nothing fancy. Places like that tended to have good food though since mom and pop shops tended to care more about their customers than other places. It had been quite a while since she had gone out to eat come to think of it. This would hopefully be nice. Looking over at Raven as she commented on their previous conversation, Casey smiled. Raven was right, no sense in worrying about things ahead of time, might as well enjoy a nice meal and put off thinking about her possible future with the Brotherhood until tomorrow when she would get more of a feel for what they were about.

Angel was the last one to get out of the car. She closed the door behind her and without preamble headed towards the entrance of the diner. She and Raven came here often enough so she would probably have her usual. The service was pretty good and the food even better. It was more expensive than making your own food but it was nice to go out once in a while when they had the money. Pushing through the front doors, Angel held the door open until the next girl took it and walked inside. Once of the waitresses spotted her and waved them over to a free table with a smile.

Raven would let Casey worry about that later thats for sure. Also, it was none of Raven's worry....Casey was an adult. She would handle herself in the other girls eyes. She smiles at the waitress who noticed her and Angel and heads off towards the table she was flapping them to. Debating in her mind what she would want to eat and it would probably be her normal as well.

Shifting she takes a seat and pokes the menu away from herself. She didn't even have to look at it. She knew what she wanted now. She looks over at Casey, "Everything is good here. So, you don't have to worry on something being blah....course some of the things on the menu I wouldn't touch like the liver and onions...who eats that anyway?" It sounded so gross to Raven thats for sure.

Angel smiled back at the waitress. “Hello Dawn,” she said. They had been there often enough to know most of the staff. Dawn was one of her favorites though. They hung out from time to time when she wasn’t busy working or when Angel wasn’t trying to do crazy things for Erik. Dawn had no idea that she was a mutant and she definitely planned to keep it that way. Charles could tote on all day about how they should come out and live together. It was a beautiful concept but she had learned firsthand that the world wasn’t ready for them. They would have to make their own place in it.

Sitting down at the table and sliding over so that Raven could join her, Angel took one of the menus that Dawn had left for them on the table before dashing off to grab them so water. Even though she had the thing pretty much memorized by heart, she looked it over to give her something to do while Casey got situated and picked out what she wanted to eat.

Casey followed Angel and Raven over to the table that the waitress had assigned to them. The girl seemed nice but she didn’t think anything of it and just sat down across from Angel. She grabbed one of the yellowed menus. The plastic coating was a bit sticky but she just shrugged it off. Opening it up she began to look over it’s contents, trying to decide what she was in the mood to eat.

Raven looks at Dawn and gives a smile, "Hey Dawn. Good seeing you." It was always nice to see a kind face but that could change easily if Dawn caught wind of what they where.... Raven would like to keep the not knowing they where mutant bit to themselves too. It was better off....even if Charles thought it would be better to live together in harmony......like that would ever happen! Charles...her heart ached a bit thinking of him but it quickly did pass. She shifts a bit in the seat and waits for Dawn to bring them thier water.

She looks at Angel and tilts her head, "Having your normal?" She quickly shoved any emotions to the back of her mind and away from view. Now wasn't the time to think of such things. Also, if Erik caught wind he wouldn't be happy in the least. She looks at Casey, "So, what do you feel like having?"

Angel looked up when Raven spoke to her, “Yeah, I think so,” she said after a moment, setting the menu down on the table for Dawn to take when she came back with the water. She looked over at Casey when Raven addressed her. She was clearly trying to decide what to have but at least she had narrowed it down to the sandwiches. “The cheesy beef melt is really good,” she said, hoping that maybe she could help the other girl decide.

Not sensing Raven’s chagrin, Casey eyed the menu, there was a bit of everything: sandwiches, hamburgers, pasta, pizza, salads, and more. Everything was pretty reasonably priced though there were more expensive cuts for steaks and ribs. It would probably be best to stay with something cheap considering that she didn’t have a lot of extra money. With that in mind she ruled out the steak and ribs, then the pizza and pasta since they were easy enough to make back at the house if they wanted to. Salads weren’t very filling so she crossed that one out as well. That left mostly the sandwich options which all looked pretty good. “I’m thinking of getting a sandwich,” she announced, “Though I haven’t decided which on yet…” That grilled chicken one looked good, but then the sliced beef was probably delicious as well, it was a tough call.

Raven nods, "Not surprised. Thats one of your favorites here." She leans back in the seat waiting for thier water. Also, waiting for Casey to pick what she wanted. "I am having french toast combo. Eggs, bacon, and such....enough for two meals. I cannot wait." She could get whatever but she was in the mood for breakfast at the moment.

Raven tilts her head listing to Casey's choices, "They are both good. Or you can always get one to go for later too." Raven shrugs and didn't mind what the other girl ordered. Sometimes things to go was a nice thing too if one has the money. Though, today ice cream was after so Raven was holding off for extra take out. "I would pick whatever will fill you up the best...."

“Hm…” Casey debated between the cheesy beef melt and the grilled California chicken sandwich. “I think I’ll go with that one,” she said at last referring to the beef sandwich that Angel had suggested. Getting takeout as well was a good idea but it would be too expensive. She needed to save what money she had left in case she ended up needing to pay for something like taxi fare that wasn’t something that she could easily steal.

Angel just shrugged. She would order quesadillas with mashed potatoes on the side. It was a bit of an odd combination but she liked it and it was one of her usual meals. Dawn came back with water and took down their drinks and orders. She couldn’t wait for their food. The kitchen was usually pretty fast when there weren’t too many people and the diner wasn’t full up today so they would probably get it relatively quickly. “So where did you come here from?” Angel asked, wondering if Casey lived nearby or a bit farther afield.

Casey told the waitress what she wanted and handed over her menu before sitting back in her seat. There was nothing to do now but chit chat and wait for the food to come out. She looked over at Angel when she spoke, “Oh, not too far, about an hour from here.” She specifically avoided telling them exactly where she came from. It wasn’t that she wanted to keep it a secret, she just didn’t really feel it was important.

Raven puts her order in and sits back relaxing a bit. She sips her water and was going to ask what Angel did. Wondering where the new girl was from. "Not to far than.", she nods. Course if she made a run for it easy to find again....or quicker she supposed since they did have Emma on thier side. "What do you do for fun and such?", she figured why not make some small talk? She was glad the diner wasn't to busy and the food wait wouldn't be to long...she was hungry after all and they did have a few more stops before they headed home.

Meanwhile, poor Hank wasn't having a fun time shopping in the least. Not only was the poor nerdy mutant out of his element fully but the poor girl he was with was a flipping mess and a half. However, what Hank found out about her...he couldn't really blame her? Ethier which way he tried to hurry things along for both of thier sakes and at least Emily was now in a pair of pants and a shirt and no longer one long shirt that looked more like a tent on her.

Hank sighs and could feel Emily pressed against him (away from any other people lurking around shopping...even if it wasn't to crowded) as they both picked out clothing and quickly. Not to many but enough to at least tide her over for now until she grew more.
Next was a hair cut...let them figure out what to do with the rats nest hair...which he guessed would have to be shaved off nearly fully to start again. Yes, ice cream sounded good to the poor older mutant right now...a reward after this one! Course again he wasn't mad at Emily of for the Professor for having him go out and do this..just was a touch more stressful than he thought it would be.

“Not that I plan on going back for a visit or anything,” Casey added as an afterthought to the previous question. No, she had broken her ties with her parents. Going back home would only be a last resort. Even if she messed things up here she would go somewhere else and try to start a life of her own, no sense running back to mommy and daddy with her tail between her legs. She was a talented young girl and would find a way to make things work on her own.

“For fun?” she repeated thoughtfully. “Well I like to go shopping she said,” the emphasis on the word giving an indication that it wasn’t the traditional sort of shopping, “Or the movie theater,” it was pretty easy to sneak into the local theater, “Go for walks,” which usually entailed getting into trouble in other ways, “Read magazines,” usually stolen, “and the like.” Sometimes she just liked to lay around at home too, that was also nice from time to time. That was the benefit to living with her parents; she never had too much to worry about.

Raven quarks an eyebrow slowly on the not going for a visit bit. Well, she broke ties with her family. But sometimes it was nice to have someone who gave a crap about you. No? Ugh, why these feelings as of late?! "We didn't say you couldn't go visit but thats your choice." She shrugs slowly.

Raven ponders and nods, "Sounds good. Gotta love the "shopping"." She knew what the other girl meant all to well. That could be useful....stealing was a bit of a welcome thing in thier group if it was needed. Erik didn't frown on it...or anything bad for that matter. "We will get along nicely."

((I like toast too much to make my bread all mushy with milk and eggs. XD My toaster only likes one kind of bread from a certain brand though, LOL.))

Angel kept out of the conversation about family. Her own family was long dead to her so she preferred not to think about it. Better to keep her mind focused on the present, no sense in wallowing in her gritty past. The future didn’t always look like roses and sunshine either so she tended to live for the moment, no sense in stressing herself out over might bes. Angel liked to go with the flow and grasp any opportunities that came to her along the way. Speaking of pastimes it seemed that Casey was interested in similar things as her and Raven. They would probably get along just fine.

Casey just shrugged at Raven’s comment about visiting her family. Like she said, it was her choice. She supposed it was good to know that she had their approval should she ever change her mind but whatever, she wasn’t planning on that. Her somewhat frowned turned around and she smiled at Raven’s comment about how they would get along. It felt nice to be accepted. It was probably the first time in her life that someone had accepted her for who she was. “How long have you been with Erik?” she asked. They seemed pretty experienced but it was also pretty easy to pretend when you wanted to.

Raven shifts a bit, "I have been with Erik since the Cuban Missile Crises. We joined him shortly after. Though Angel had gone off before hand." It was a bit complicated and she didn't really like thinking about it. Especially not at this moment. Not when her poor mind kept going back to her "brother." "Maybe we can catch a movie in the next few days if Erik dosn't keep us to busy that is." Depends....depends on what Erik has cooking in that noggin of his this time.

((Well, snow is picking up harder! You guys? I managed to get out where I had to go early. Had to ship 3 things, needed a few lil things at walmart (only went cause it wasn't TO bad out and it wasn't insanely needed but I was out) and to the dog i care for. I don't have him tomorrow mom took off and I don't blame her. Ahem, Storm please stop the snow huh?! Hopefully, we wont loose power. Though I do have batteries, extra pet food, a wood stove to make food on (hey did during sandy it worked lol!), ect))

((I managed to leave work a bit early so thankfully the commute home wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. If I had waited until my normal time though it would have been hard since the snow was coming down really hard then. They shut the subway down last night and it wasn't open by the time I had to leave for work so I am working from home today. It's nice to sit back in my PJs, LOL! I'll be back to my usual commute tomorrow though. We definitely didn't get hit as hard as I thought we would but it's still the most snow I've seen in NYC since I've been here.)

Casey listened with curiosity as Raven answered her question. She was never one to care much for history but the Cuban Missile Crisis was something that pretty much everyone knew about. So it had been quite some time but not too long really. She wondered what had inspired the other two girls to join Erik. She was sure they each had their different reasons but since Raven was changing the subject it sounded like she didn't really want to talk about that at the moment. "That sounds like fun," she said. Hopefully Erik would let them go. "Do you know what's playing?" she asked. She couldn't remember what movies were playing at the moment but the magazine she had left back in her room would probably have a list if neither of the other girls knew. To be honest she didn't care what kind of a movie it was, anything sort of distraction was usually welcome in her book.

Angel perked up at the mention of movies, "Oh yeah, there's this one I wanted to see," she said. "Hm, what was the name of it?" Angel searched her memory but couldn't recall the title. "I can't remember right now but it was some sort of action movie. What do you girls say, up for a little action? Or would you rather see a chick flick?" There was always some romance or comedy movie playing if the girls preferred that but she hoped they would agree to the action movie. Either way she decided that she probably shouldn't get her hopes up in case Erik had them flying out somewhere to kidnap some senator or something.

((Very nice lol! We didn't get as much ethier. It was still a lot though...Also, I am annoyed that people are bitching that roads closed, ect. Um, it was better OFF! They cleaned stuff faster, ect. O.o. Also, that we didn't get 2 foot...did you REALLY want that much snow. Shut up peoples! We got about 10 inches here.))

Raven might tell Casey later why she was Erik...or she may not. Probably not though knowing her...She ponders and shakes her head, "No, I don't know what is playing to be honest. Havn't been to the movies in a long while. However, I am up for anything. A break would be nice." Again, that depended on what Erik had up his sleeve again. Why did she have a feeling that wasn't going to happen? Erik got a new person to use...She shifts and takes her glass to sip her water waiting for thier food. "When we get back we can look to see what's playing."

((The ride into the city this morning was a nightmare but otherwise it hasn’t been too bad. I’m not really sure how much we got in the end to be honest…))

“Anything’s fine with me,” Casey commented with a shrug, she would be fine with Angel’s action movie or whatever else was playing, she really wasn’t picky. Seeing Raven sip at her water, Casey did the same. Putting her water back down on the table she looked out the window. There were more people showing up now. The waitress went out to greet them and after they were seated came back with their drinks. Casey gratefully accepted the soda she ordered and took a swig of that. It wasn’t that she didn’t like water; she just liked to have soda as a treat when she went out. The sweet fizzy taste brought a smile to her lips.

Angel sighed, annoyed that she couldn’t remember the name of the movie that she was thinking of. Hopefully it would come to mind before they got back. If not they could look it up. She perked up when Dawn brought out her Pepsi. She never bought soda for the house, it disappeared too quickly to be worth the price, so it was nice to have it as a treat when she went out.

Raven thanks Dawn when her soda was put down in front of her as well. Glad to get it and very much like Angel didn't bother to get it for home. It was quickly taken by the others and not asked for ethier. "Same. I am sure we can find it before we go home fully. After ice cream." Another treat out...again something stolen and quickly and not bought by her anymore. She sips her soda enjoying it greatly it was a missed item in the house for sure. Maybe she would get a few and power hide them better this time....MAYBE....

((I think I am going to take a break from Mene. I've been feeling super depressed and not myself lately and just not in the mood to be on the computer at all. I am planning to be away for about a week and won't be responding to the roleplay during that time. Thank you for understanding.))

((I'm somewhat backish but unfortunately I think I'm going to have to call this off. A lot of things are falling apart in my life right now and I really need to take more time to evaluate things and try to figure out where to go from here. ))
