You haven't spent time with me yet, Kenzie said. Besides, there's no science equipment out here unless that's what you packed.

"I always have science stuff, I have the suit, it's literally made of science, and are you getting jealous?" Tony said, looking at her. "I thought that was Gemma's thing."

Not jealous, neglected, there is a difference, Kenzie said. I cannot be jealous of science because science is too fun to be jealous of. But you haven't spent hardly any time with me.

"Hey, you've been distracted with Barnes and Barton," Tony defended, even as he went and gingerly tried to settle himself down near her. He was very aware of how small he was next to her.

You also seemed to have a harder time adjusting. I didn't want to frighten you, Kenzie admitted. But she was getting some bonding time in now, so she was a little smug.

"I don't do... this," Tony said, wiggling his fingers in an awkward attempt to allude to magic. "I do science. Science makes sense."

Science does make sense, science is fun, Kenzie agreed. I believe I still have all my diplomas, I'll have to show you sometime.

Tony blinked at that.

"Diplomas?" he asked. "Like, school? You've been to school? Which one? When?"

I've attended several schools. I believe the first formal extended education I completed was in the early 1900s. Kenzie sounded amused. I think I have twenty or so degrees by now. I'd have to check again, though. And there's the occasional duplicate because things changed so dramatically.

"That's incredible," Tony said after a moment of silent awe. "How do you even work? Because, hell, I only have seven and I was tempted to punch people, I'd bet my newest Audi someone practically begged to be eaten." And he was not jealous, thank you, not in the slightest, twenty degrees was excessive even by his own standards and he really didn't need to be entertaining the thought of number eight, thank you.

It was very tempting to eat some people, Kenzie agreed. I have nothing but time, so I found that learning amuses me. Besides, it did take me over a hundred years to amass all the degrees. But she was still amused, and preening just a bit at his awe.

"I used to be able to brag about having seven doctorates," Tony said, giving her a bit of a Look. "So much for that."

I only have one doctorate, Kenzie said. The rest are bachelors and masters. Besides, I'm sure you are more specialized than I am.

"That's not the point," Tony said. "The point is I have seven degrees and I can't brag about that anymore." He absolutely did not pout, and he did not feel inadequate in any way, shape, or form. He was Tony Stark, damn it.

Perhaps by the time you're over a thousand years old, you'll have bypassed me in terms of degrees, Kenzie said, amused. Because she felt he needed a little reminder that it wasn't fair to compare yourself to a dragon.

Tony snorted.

"I'll be lucky to see fifty," he replied. "Occupational hazard."

Kenzie huffed and grumbled at that but didn't outright protest. She knew that humans didn't live near as long as she'd like. But she was working on it.

It wasn't long before Tony somehow found himself settled comfortably against Kenzie. He blinked when he realized what was happening, but he didn't immediately get up and move.

Kenzie had finally fully sprawled out, with Clint still up on her back, Tony settled against her, and Bucky between her front feet. Quite content with that, Kenzie grumbled at the house. She wanted Gemma cuddles too, dammit.

Gemma heard the rumbling and gave an indulgent little grin.

"Apparently, Kenzie wants me outside," she said to Steve.

"After you, then," Steve said, holding the door for her with a grin.

Gemma grinned and headed outside. When she saw Kenzie with the others, she rolled her eyes a little and went over to the dragon.

"I'm here, I'm here," she said.

Finally, Kenzie grumbled. You and your blonde can settle in as well. She sniffed imperiously, tilting her head a bit to look at Steve. Steve blinked at her, still kind of adjusting to having something whose head was bigger than his whole body staring at him.

"You were fine, you had three others with you," Gemma said as she settled down against Kenzie's side. She gestured for Steve to join her. "And he's not my anything." She turned a bit pink as she said it.

Yes he is, Kenzie said with a snort. But she just made sure everyone was comfortable there.

And then she spotted Thor eyeing her speculatively. She huffed. Yes, Asgardian, you may join as well.

Thor grinned, having understood her perfectly because Allspeak, and he quite happily moved over to use the dragon as a bed.
