"Pretty sure the universe still owes me," Steve said, though he also settled in. He could tell at least a few of his teammates had already fallen asleep.

"I bet," Gemma replied. She closed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder a bit. It was nice out, and there was nothing pressing that needed anyone's attention. It was relaxing.

Steve stayed awake for a bit longer, but eventually he gave in and fell asleep there. It really was surprisingly comfortable.

And Kenzie didn't roll over in her sleep and squash anyone.

Gemma woke up a while later, stretching a little. It was already morning, but that didn't surprise her; she usually slept pretty well settled in against Kenzie. The rest had been nice, but now it was time to go pay a visit to the farmer who lived not far away and see if he could spare any cows for Kenzie this time around.

Kenzie stirred a bit when Gemma did but didn't actually get up.

Fortunately, the farmer didn't live too far away, and he always got up early, so he was already up when Gemma got there.

Gemma grinned when she saw the farmer.

"Morning, Mr. Cormick," she greeted. "Haven't seen you in a while."

"'s been a while," he agreed. "Staying for a few days?" He smiled at her, because he honestly liked the two. Even if Kenzie did occasionally eat a few cows, but he could afford it.

"The weekend, at least," Gemma said, nodding. She grinned. "Kenzie picked up a few new people, so we brought a whole group along this time."

"Well, haven't seen that in a while." The farmer grinned. "Bring 'em 'round for dinner, if you want, just warn me beforehand."

"I can bring them tonight, if you like," Gemma offered, smiling a bit. "Unless tomorrow is better, it's up to you."

"Tonight is fine. How many should be and the missus cook for?" He smiled. He wouldn't even mind if they had to cook for a crowd.

Gemma took a quick mental head count.

"Me, Kenzie..." She paused for a moment, and then gave a sheepish little grin. "The Avengers?"

He actually stopped for a moment and stared at her. Then he whistled.

"Right. Well then. Guess we better pull out the big guns for tonight." He shook his head. "No standing on ceremony, though, right?"

"Right," Gemma replied. She bit her lip a little. "Really, I know it's a lot on short notice, I can always bring them tomorrow instead to give you and your wife time to prepare..."

"Nah, don't worry, it's early enough we can swing it," he said. "We'll just prepare a lot of food. Say six thirty?"

"I'll make sure we're all here," Gemma said, nodding. She smiled. "I'm sure it'll be wonderful, like always."

The farmer chuckled and waved her off. "I'll go tell the missus to start working," he said. "Tomorrow I'll set aside a few cattle for Kenzie, too."

"I know she'll appreciate that," Gemma said, smiling. "Oh! And let me know if there's anything around here that needs touching up, alright? I'll take a look and do what I can."

"Always appreciated," he said with a smile, tipping his hat to her before he headed back to the house to let the wife know. And then to help cook. Because they were going to need a lot of food.

Gemma grinned and headed back towards the cabin. She had a dragon and six superheroes to poke awake.

Kenzie was already awake, but trying not to disturb everyone else. She had kind of curled bits of her around her people; her tail was around Tony and Bruce, her wings were nestled against Clint and Natasha, her front paws were shielding Bucky. She'd also moved Thor in against her side.

Steve was also awake and very, very amused. And now he had pictures to prove this really happened.

Gemma couldn't help but smile at that when she saw everyone.

"Well, obviously Kenzie is the most comfortable spot," she commented quietly.

Of course I am, Kenzie said with a little sniff. I am warm and comfortable, I make a fantastic bed.

Steve was grinning. "They all look so cute. Think we should wake them?" he asked.

Gemma couldn't help but laugh a little.

"I came back out here for the express purpose of poking a sleeping dragon," she said, grinning. "I definitely intended on waking everyone up."

Steve grinned and kept his phone ready so he could take pictures.

Kenzie shifted a bit, uncovering people to make it easier for Gemma to wake everyone up. Except Bucky. She lowered her head and moved her front feet to hide Bucky.
