Steve nodded. "That's not so bad." He smiled a bit. "And you get to own your own shop, live how you want. That's good."

"I can't complain," Gemma agreed. She grinned a bit. "Enough about me. What about you? Tell me things that didn't make it into the history books."

Steve chuckled. "Buck and I used to go to Coney island once in a while, usually with a coupla dames," he said. "Haven't been back since, well... everything."

Gemma brightened a little at that.

"Well... I've never been," she offered, a bit shyly. "Never had the opportunity."

"Do you want to go?" Steve asked, looking at her. "We could go one day. If you wanted to, I mean."

Gemma blushed a little and smiled.

"I'd love to," she said. "I-I mean, if you're offering?"

"Yeah," Steve agreed. "I'm offering. Sounds like a good plan to me." He smiled, rather pleased with that. And now he had a date sometime in the future.

"Great," Gemma said, still a bit pink. "We'll have to figure out a good time."

"When we get back," Steve suggested. "You figure out when you can take a day off, and we'll hope that nothing happens that day that I need to attend to."

Gemma couldn't help but grin a little.

"I get the feeling your schedule is going to be harder to work around than mine," she said.

"Yeah, but mine is more... spontaneous." Steve briefly made a face. "It's not like I get advance notice when people are going to decide they want to do something to get my attention."

"I know," Gemma said, smiling a little. "I'm teasing you. I mean, you are kind of a superhero, it's kind of to be expected."

Steve snorted quietly. "I know. Better than being an agent. That wasn't always so good." He briefly made a face.

"That bad?" Gemma asked, looking at him. She moved a bit closer to him.

"There were days," Steve said with a tired sigh. "But I don't have to worry about it now, thankfully." He shook himself a bit to get rid of the thoughts.

Gemma leaned against him a little as he shook the thoughts away.

"Still alright?" she asked.

"Yeah," Steve said. "I'm fine." He smiled a bit at her. "Guess we've both got a few sore spots."

"I'd be worried if you didn't," Gemma replied. She stretched a little and sighed.

Steve settled in there. "I'm kind of surprised we've been left alone this long," he said, glancing over at the team. "They're normally more nosy than this."

Gemma grinned and looked off to one side.

"I might have... warded the whole area," she said.

Steve blinked at that and looked around. He spotted Tony with his nose pressed against some invisible barrier. Then he snickered.

Gemma spotted him at about the same time and couldn't help but laugh outright. Tony just looked so ridiculous.

"Tony Stark, ladies and gentlemen, complete dork." Steve grinned rather fondly and rolled his eyes.

"Seriously," Gemma said, still snickering. "He does know it's magic, right? Didn't he claim to break out in hives around magic or something like that?"

"He's probably trying to figure out how it works," Steve said with a shrug. "If I had to guess, anyway." He grinned a bit. "He's stubborn."
