Gemma closed up the shop and then followed Kenzie upstairs. It was good to have her friend back.

They ended up having a nice, quiet evening in, with lots of cuddling involved. Kenzie even made coffee the next morning and stuck around to at least stay out of the way of opening the shop.

Gemma enjoyed the quiet night in, and definitely enjoyed the cuddles. The apartment had felt too big and empty without Kenzie there, even with Steve visiting the shop every couple of days. She'd definitely missed the dragon.

Kenzie waited until there had been a few customers to stretch a bit. "Do you want to go grab lunch?" she asked. "And then you can come back for your appointments, and I can go on to visit the boys."

"Sure," Gemma said, grabbing the 'closed for lunch' sign from behind the counter. She hung it on the door as they left the shop. "Where do you want to go?"

Kenzie considered for a moment. "The sushi place. Fish sounds good." She made sure she had everything she needed before opening the door for Gemma.

"Sushi it is," Gemma said, nodding. She headed outside, and waited for Kenzie to join her. Then they started walking towards the sushi place.

Kenzie settled in for sushi easily enough, because she liked fish. Just not the rice and seaweed. So she skipped that part and ate fish, and paid for both of their lunches, because it didn't matter to her.

Gemma noticed and grinned.

"You could just order sashimi," she pointed out as she took the rice balls from Kenzie's plate. "It doesn't have the rice with it."

"Most of the time I do," Kenzie pointed out. "You like the rice, I don't." She shrugged a bit. Not that it actually made a difference to her.

"I do like the rice," Gemma admitted, grinning a bit. "It's good rice."

Kenzie snickered quietly and shook her head, settling in to eat her fish. It didn't take long for her to get full, or at least full enough for a while. It would take her a little bit to replenish all the nutrients she lost producing the egg.

Gemma settled in to eat her sushi as well. It was good sushi, and it was nice to just have the quiet lunch with Kenzie. When her phone went off, reminding her to get back for her appointments, she sighed a bit.

"Time to head back," she said.

"Have fun," Kenzie said. "I have my phone. I'll be back this evening." She paid the bill for lunch, getting up so she could go to the Tower to visit.

"Let me know if you're staying there tonight," Gemma said as she grabbed her bag. With that, she headed back towards the shop.

Kenzie nodded and headed over to the tower. She did blink when Jarvis greeted her.

"Miss Kenzie, if you would please follow the lights to the appropriate elevator," he said.

Kenzie blinked again but followed the little blue lights to the private elevator. She didn't even have to press a button; Jarvis just took her up to the common Avengers floor. He also let everyone know that Kenzie was back.

Upstairs, Jarvis had already alerted everyone that Kenzie was on her way up, and that meant that Bucky had taken to pacing the living room.He was anxious to see Kenzie and make sure she was alright after being gone for so long without explanation.

Kenzie stepped out of the elevator when it let her off at the living room and glanced around. She did smile a little when she saw Bucky right there.

"Bucky," she greeted, her eyes on him.

"Kenzie!" Bucky stopped pacing. "Where were you? Gemma refused to tell us."

"I had to get out of town for a while," Kenzie said with a shrug. "I holed up in a mountain." She wasn't even exaggerating there. She did move over to him, though, looking him over.

"Why?" Bucky asked. "Why would you need to go hide in a mountain?"

"I had some private matters to attend to," Kenzie said evasively with a shrug. It was the truth. Just not the whole truth.

Bucky could tell it wasn't the whole truth, but he had no idea how to get her to tell him everything.

"I see," he said. "And you're sure you're alright?"

"I'm well enough. It will not take more than a few days to return to normal." Assured that Bucky was at least visibly fine, Kenzie relaxed a little.

"Good." As Kenzie relaxed, so did Bucky, and the tension eased itself out of his shoulders.
