"Have I recently reminded you that you are stubborn?" Kenzie couldn't help but grin, though. Apparently stubborn was what was required to deal with her, after all.

"No, but I still hear it now and again," Bucky replied, grinning. He took a sip of his coffee, enjoying the warmth from it.

Kenzie snorted quietly and shook her head. She sipped her own coffee, taking a few moments to get used to the taste again.

"Well. I suppose I'll have to face them all eventually anyway."

"It'll be fine," Bucky said. "Really, it will. Though you'll have to go find Gemma later, I think, last I heard she took off somewhere with Stevie."

"I can find her again," Kenzie agreed easily. It wouldn't be hard; her bond with Gemma was strong and steady as ever. "It's not her I'm worried about."

Bucky raised an eyebrow at that.

"Oh really?" he asked, more curious than anything.

"My bond with her is normal," Kenzie said. "Steady as ever. My bond with you is actually stronger. I would guess because you came to find me. But the other two..." She shrugged. "They have not yet had a chance to develop, but it's been so long I wouldn't be surprised if they decided the bond was more trouble than it was worth." Which hurt to think about, a little.

"Who, Clint and Nat?" Bucky asked. He snorted. "Nah, they're good. I'm betting it's because they're weirdos themselves, they get it."

"Clint, perhaps," Kenzie admitted. "Natasha I have not yet made one of my own. But Tony..." She paused and frowned. "Tony is a man of science, and I am not a creature constricted by the rules of science."

Bucky just shook his head a bit, waving one hand.

"Stark's fine, too," he said. "Wondering where you are, making noises about more doctorates, I think. Trust me, Stark's the last guy to complain about people being difficult, he's one of the worst ones."

Kenzie snorted quietly at that. It wasn't that she doubted him, just that she needed to see them for herself.

"Well, then, perhaps we should get to-go cups and head back." And yes, she was well aware the coffee break had been her idea.

Bucky looked at her for a moment, and then nodded.

"Sure," he said. "Whenever you're ready."

Kenzie nodded and gave herself a few more moments before she made herself get up. Time to check in with everyone.

"If, for some reason, this does go poorly, I'm blaming you."

"You do that," Bucky said. "It won't, but go ahead." He grinned a bit, teasingly.

Kenzie snorted quietly but walked back to the tower with him. She did get more tense as they approached, and she was quiet once they were inside and headed up to the living areas.

"Relax," Bucky murmured to her. "It'll be fine."

"Welcome back, Sergeant Barnes, Miss Kenzie," Jarvis said smoothly as they got into the elevator. "Your arrival has been expected."

"Because that's not ominous at all," Kenzie muttered. "Good to see you too, Jarvis." The elevator ride seemed shorter than normal, and she wasn't sure if it was just her or if Tony had upgraded. Again.

Bucky stepped out of the elevator when the doors opened, heading to the common room.

Clint looked over when he heard the two come in, and he grinned.

"Hey, look who's back," he said.

Kenzie smiled a little. "Had to work out a few issues," she said, moving into the room carefully. Honestly, she kind of expected someone to yell at her at some point.

"Psh, we've all got issues," Clint said, settling in with his video game again. "Seriously, take a number."

Kenzie snorted at that and ruffled his hair as she passed. "Where are the others?"

"Phil's got Nat off solo for a few weeks," Clint replied, shaking his head to try to fluff his hair back into place. "Cap's out staying with his girl. Stark and Bruce are down in the lab somewhere talking sweet science nothings to each other."

Kenzie snorted. "And you're attached to your video game again." She ruffled his hair again, this time just to annoy him.

"Hey, easy on the hair," Clint said, though he was grinning a bit. He leaned to one side to try to avoid the head-ruffle. "I actually combed it today."

"Oh my, such sophistication," Kenzie teased with a grin. "However shall I make the indignity up to you?"
