"Four cushions and a towel?" Kenzie snorted. "Clint, my dear, you need at least two blankets to make a proper fort. At least."

"It was great," Clint argued, still grinning. "That was a great fort."

"No, I will show you a great fort," Kenzie said, because that? That was a challenge.

Clint cackled.

"Oh this I have to see," he said. "You're on. Let's do this thing."

Kenzie smirked. "Done. Natasha, if I don't remember, would you remind me tomorrow? I would start now, but a proper fort requires time."

"Of course," Natasha replied, grinning a bit. "The best blankets are kept in a closet on Tony's floor."

Kenzie smiled at that. "I knew you would be an excellent ally," she said, reaching across Clint to brush Natasha's shoulder.

Clint was about to playfully protest when something thrummed through the bond in the back of his mind. He smirked a bit when he recognized it.

Kenzie blinked at that, because that was new. Granted, she hadn't been feeling much through the bonds for a while, but still.

"What is that?"

"I've got money on that being your girl getting it on with Cap," Clint replied, still smirking. "It's pretty new."

Kenzie blinked at that, and then went blank. "I see." She stood and moved into the kitchen.

"Kenzie?" Clint asked, gaze sharpening a bit. He hadn't expected that. "What's wrong?"

Kenzie waved a negligent hand. "Nothing. Do not concern yourself." She put the kettle on, needing something to do.

"Uh huh," Clint said, raising an eyebrow. "Well, that's the most blatant lie I've heard recently. Do people sleeping together bother you that much? Or is it something else?"

"Sex is fine, I don't care about that," Kenzie said. "I've had people in my hoard have sex before." She got down tea, taking a minute to select one.

"Then what is it about this time that's bothering you?" Clint asked. "Don't tell me it's not, I can see it."

Kenzie frowned at him and was saved from having to answer by Bruce walking in.

"Bruce. It's been a while." She smiled at him.

"Kenzie," Bruce greeted in return, smiling at her. "Welcome back."

"Thank you." Kenzie reached over to ruffle his hair a little, telegraphing her movements so he wouldn't be startled. And then she smiled.

"I hear you're cooking tonight."

"That I am," Bruce replied, nodding slightly. "Curry chicken and rice."

"May I help?" If Kenzie had learned one thing, it was that she could be very good at avoiding subjects when she put her mind to it. She was putting her mind to it now.

"If you'd like," Bruce replied, stepping a bit to one side to make room for her at the counter. Clint just watched, knowing very well that Kenzie was avoiding his questions, and he didn't like it.

Kenzie worked quietly, letting him lead. She did, however, set some off in a different pot.

"Can you make this spicy?"

"How spicy are we talking?" Bruce asked as he set it aside.

"How spicy can you make it?" Kenzie asked in reply with a little smile. She was serious about making something spicy enough for her.
